Renault has revealed a new concept car called the Duster Extreme Concept at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show in Brazil.

The Duster Extreme Concept has been developed by Renault’s design centre in Sao Paulo from the Renault Design Latin America division.

The concept based on the Duster has been modified and designed to be a wholesome all-terrain vehicle and has been fitted with accessories that one might use in those situations and applications. The Renault Duster Extreme Concept is being showcased at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show in Brazil, and uses a 2.0-litre flex-fuel four-cylinder engine that develops 143bhp and 198Nm of torque when using petrol. The engine can also run on ethanol which allows the same engine to produce 148bhp and 209Nm of torque. The concept also gets 4x4 drive and a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The exterior of the concept vehicle features grey bodywork with red accents, a winch mounted on the front, large off-road tyres, raised suspension, flared wheel arches and fenders, a roof rack with an LED light bar mounted on the roof of the car facing front, two hooks on either side of the front bumper and one at the rear. The headlamps also have red inserts with the front grille being finished in black instead of the chrome finish on the standard car.

The interior has been finished in black with red accents. The dashboard has the lettering “EXTREME” and the steering wheel features a “4WD” as well coloured in red. The centre console features the same infotainment screen that comes with the standard Renault Duster, and an 4WD selector under the climate control settings. Though the engine is said to be mated to a 6-speed manual, the images that have been revealed by Renault show a 5-speed gearbox.
