Renault is set to launch a dedicated mobile app to drive the sales of its upcoming hatchback, Kwid.

Referred to as a virtual showroom, the app will allow prospective buyers to receive full details about the Kwid and get their queries answered by Renault personnels. Users may type their queries in the chat box, to which a dedicated team will respond vocally through the in-built video conference feature.

The French manufacturer has allocated 100 people for this task, which aims at engaging the prospective buyer through the fast-growing world of digital media.

The Kwid is based on Renault-Nissan’s new CM-A platform and will rival the Hyundai Eon, Maruti Alto and the Datsun Go. Powered by a 800cc three-cylinder engine, the Renault Kwid is expected to be launched within the Rs 3-4 lakh price bracket.
