Skoda launched the refreshed Yeti priced at Rs 18.99 lakhs for the 4x2 version, while the all conquering 4x4 variant is available at Rs 20.53 lakhs (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi). This 2014 version is strictly a cosmetic upgrade for the Skoda Yeti with a new and lighter clutch system.

This compact SUV comes with new bi-xenon headlamps with day time running lights, new LED rear lights, new angled radiator grille, new flared up bumpers, a prominent bonnet and contrasting coloured roof options.

The interiors virtually remain the same, which is a good thing as it is still spacious and solid built. It also gets a new 3-spoke multifunctional leather wrapped steering wheel, a touch screen entertainment system and start-stop ignition button.

When it comes to safety, the Yeti is fully loaded with six-airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Engine Braking Control, braking assistant, Anti-Slip Regulation and Electronic Differential Lock. The 4x4 variant has off-roading features like hill-hold control assistant and downhill assistant.

The Yeti retains the 2-litre, four cylinder diesel engine and is available in two trims -- the front-wheel drive, the 100PS 4x2, which is mated with a five-speed manual gearbox and the more powerful 140PS 4x4 option, which comes with a six-speed manual gear box.

“The Yeti is an extremely versatile vehicle and is a great compliment to our product portfolio. True to Skoda's DNA it is extremely practical, precise, spacious and clever. The driving dynamics in the Yeti are impeccable; it performs well within the city and its off-road performance is overwhelming. The Skoda Yeti makes clever use of space and technology that include both new and proven ‘Simply Clever’ solutions. The Yeti is a car for true automotive enthusiasts and driving aficionados,” said Mr Sudhir Rao, Chairman and Managing Director ŠKODA Auto India, at the launch.
