Tata Altroz spotted testing

Tata Motors continues to refine the Altroz, as the facelifted version has been spotted testing once again ahead of its official launch in India. The latest spy shots reveal subtle design updates, including a refreshed alloy wheel design, hinting at other cosmetic and potential feature upgrades. While the overall silhouette remains unchanged, minor exterior tweaks and possible interior enhancements are expected to keep the premium hatchback competitive in its segment. Tata Motors has yet to confirm details regarding mechanical changes, but the updated Altroz is likely to retain its existing engine options. With the facelift, Tata aims to strengthen the Altroz’s appeal in a highly competitive market. An official unveiling is anticipated soon, with a launch expected during this year's festive season.

Tata Altroz Facelift: Design Details

Design-wise, the facelifted model will introduce flush-style door handles at the front, a first in its category, while the rear handles will remain integrated into the C-pillar. Changes extend to the front bumper, which now appears to feature a revised fog lamp enclosure and reworked air channels.

The headlight setup has been redesigned, replacing the current model’s projector units with a new dual-pod configuration. An LED DRL strip, shaped like an eyebrow, has also been spotted above the headlights. Additionally, spy shots confirm that the updated model will ride on newly designed five-spoke alloy wheels.

The facelifted Altroz will see no alterations to its mechanical setup, as it will carry over the existing engine options. It will remain available with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The transmission options will also stay the same, offering both manual and automatic variants.

Tata Altroz Facelift: Interior and Safety Features

The upcoming Tata Altroz facelift is likely to maintain a similar feature set as the current model, offering automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated seats, a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, auto-dimming IRVMs, and an eight-speaker sound system. However, Tata may introduce some enhancements to give it an edge over competitors.

On the safety front, the updated Altroz is expected to continue with key safety features, including six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX mounts for child seats, and rear parking sensors. While significant changes may not be expected, the possibility of additional features cannot be ruled out as Tata aims to keep the hatchback relevant and competitive in its segment.

The refreshed hatchback will likely come with a modest price increase over the existing model, currently available at an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 6.65 lakh. Although revamped, the new Altroz will still compete with models such as the Toyota Glanza, Hyundai i20, and Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
