Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the all-electric version of its popular Harrier SUV in India, with the official roll out set for June 3. It has been about four months since the carmaker revealed the production-ready Harrier EV at this year's Bharat Mobility Expo. Following that, several prototypes have been spotted testing on public roads, indicating ongoing refinements. Recently, the company submitted a design patent showcasing the updated exterior, which reflects notable changes compared to the earlier versions. The upcoming Tata Harrier EV is expected to mark a significant step forward in the brand’s electric mobility push, offering a blend of familiar design and modern technology. With the launch drawing near, here’s an overview of what to anticipate from the Harrier EV.
The Harrier EV showcases a reworked exterior that incorporates several EV-specific styling cues. Up front, it swaps out the traditional ICE model’s grille for a closed-off panel, complemented by a full-width LED DRL strip that gives it a more futuristic appeal. The redesigned front bumper further enhances its contemporary appearance.

In profile, the SUV retains the familiar silhouette of its ICE counterpart but gains distinct elements like aero-efficient 5-spoke alloy wheels and EV branding on the front doors to reinforce its electric character. At the rear, the Harrier EV sports sleek LED tail lamps, a shark-fin antenna, and a roof spoiler. Additional touches include "Harrier EV" badging on the tailgate, a revised rear bumper, and a silver-finished skid plate for a more refined, modern finish.
The Harrier EV is built on Tata’s evolved acti.ev+ platform, tailored to offer a balance of robust performance and electric efficiency. It will come equipped with a dual-motor powertrain that enables an all-wheel-drive system and delivers up to 500Nm of torque.
Although Tata has not disclosed the battery configuration yet, it previously stated the SUV is being developed to achieve a real-world range of around 500 km on a full charge.
The interior design is expected to closely resemble the ICE-powered Harrier, as hinted by recent spy shots. The electric version is likely to feature a dual-tone dashboard and a rich set of comfort and tech features. Notable additions include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harman, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, dual-zone climate control with touch-sensitive and toggle-style inputs, and a panoramic sunroof. It will also offer conveniences like an electronic parking brake, terrain response dial, JBL sound system, and support for both vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging.
