The countdown has begun for the launch of the Tata Harrier EV, with the covers set to come off on June 3, 2025. However, ahead of this, Tata Motors has released a teaser that offers a glimpse into the SUV’s off-road capabilities. First revealed in a near-final form at the Bharat Mobility Expo, the Harrier EV has since been undergoing extensive road tests, hinting Tata’s commitment to refining the model. It boasts a recognisable design language of the Harrier, with EV-specific touches, promising a modern yet reliable option in the premium electric vehicle segment. For now, there are no details on the powertrain, but the Harrier EV is expected to feature a dual-motor configuration and delivers up to 500Nm of torque. Let’s see what the new video reveals.

The most recent video shows the Harrier EV conquering a steep hill in Kerala, highlighting its advanced off-road capabilities. It features a transparent 360-degree camera mode that offers a clear view of the ground beneath, making it easier to avoid obstacles and protect the vehicle’s underside. The SUV is also equipped with an off-road assist—Tata’s version of off-road cruise control, designed to handle challenging terrain with ease.

The cabin of the Harrier EV continues with the familiar layout, including a 12.3-inch infotainment display and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, now enhanced with electric-focused visuals. The drive mode selector, still a circular dial with an integrated display, now offers a much wider range of options. Drivers can select from modes like Rock Crawl, road, snow, and sand, a significant upgrade from the internal combustion model's Normal, Wet, and Rough. The Rock Crawl mode may even include a simulated low-range gear, similar to many 4WD SUVs. Boost and Eco buttons are located to the left of the dial, helping drivers switch between power and efficiency as needed. The gear selector in the Harrier EV is shift-by-wire, offering a smooth and easy way to change gears while keeping the cabin layout neat.
The Harrier EV’s interior is expected to stay largely in line with its ICE sibling, as suggested by recent spy images. It will likely sport a dual-tone dashboard and come packed with a host of premium features like dual-zone climate control, a large panoramic sunroof, and a JBL sound system. The SUV is also likely to offer vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities.
