Toyota launched the popular Fortuner in India a decade ago in September of 2009. Since then the Toyota Fortuner has gone on to become a brand in itself and has sold close to 1,60,000 units. To celebrate the occasion Toyota has launched this TRD Celebratory Edition at Rs. 33.85 lakh.
India’s most popular premium SUV, the Toyota Fortuner has just turned 10 years old in India and to celebrate the occasion, Toyota has launched this new Celebratory Edition adorned with a TRD styling theme. The new Toyota Fortuner TRD Celebratory Edition comes with a dual tone colour theme that offers it in a pearl white body shade while the roof is painted in a shade of 'attitude black'. You also get a set of new alloy wheels that are finished in black. Other exterior cosmetic embellishments include TRD badges, a 10-year leadership badge and a new TRD radiator grill. Differentiating the interiors of the limited edition model are black and maroon leather seats featuring contrast red stitching.
Toyota is offering the limited edition Fortuner in the two-wheel drive diesel automatic variant only and has priced it at Rs. 33.85 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi (which is a premium of Rs. 2.15 lakh over the standard 4x2 diesel AT model). It is powered by the standard car’s 2.8 turbo diesel mill developing 174bhp @ 3,400 rpm and 450 Nm between 1600 – 2400 rpm and the gearbox in question is the six-speed torque converter with paddle shifters and tiptronic mode.
N. Raja, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, commented on the new Celebratory Edition Toyota Fortuner by saying, “The Fortuner has been dominating the SUV segment since its launch way back in 2009 and today it is heartening to see this flagship model completing a glorious decade of undisputed leadership, emerging as the ‘SUV of choice’ for Indians across the country. Owing to an increase in average per capita income, this segment has grown over the years and among Toyota’s offerings, the Fortuner has enjoyed unwavering loyalty from customers who appreciate its exemplary driving experience in all terrains, unique sense of power, style, imposing road presence, adventure coupled with low cost of ownership and high resale value.”
