Just after the unveiling of the Skoda Kodiaq facelift, Volkswagen Group is all set to showcase the Tiguan Allspace facelift. The seven-seater SUV will break cover next week.

Volkswagen globally unveiled the facelifted Tiguan in 2020, and the crossover SUV is expected to be launched in India. Now, Volkswagen is all set to globally unveil the facelift version of the Tiguan Allspace – the seven-seater version of the Tiguan – on May 12, 2021.

The Tiguan Allspace will get a similar fascia as the facelifted Tiguan. The facelifted Tiguan Allspace will have a slightly tweaked headlamp design, reprofiled bumpers on both ends, and a newly designed set of alloy wheels. The key changes inside the cabin could include a restyled dashboard that could house an all-new infotainment screen. The multimedia system is expected to be upgraded with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Mirror Link, and connected tech based on an in-built e-sim – just like the 2021 Skoda Kushaq.

The engine option will remain the same, and the Tiguan All space will continue with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder unit. The gearbox on offer will be the same seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission coupled with an all-wheel-drive system. The power rating will be the same as before – 188bhp at 4,200rpm and 320Nm between 1,500 and 4,100rpm. The safety features will stay the same, and the Tiguan Allspace will continue to feature eight airbags, ABS, ESP, and traction control system.

Volkswagen has officially announced that it will have four SUVs on sale in India by the end of 2021. The Tiguan will be the first to debut in the coming months. The facelifted Tiguan could be the next SUV to be launched by this year's festive season. The facelifted Tiguan Allspace is likely to be one of the SUVs that will make its way to India under Volkswagen’s SUVW strategy by early 2022. Until then, Volkswagen India will continue to sell the current Tiguan Allspace in India. The current Tiguan Allspace is priced at Rs 34.2 lakh (ex-showroom), and the facelift model, when launched, could see a marginal price hike.
