Volvo has once again teased its upcoming all-electric SUV - the EX30, before its global debut on June 7. The new offering by the Scandinavian automaker has given a glimpse of its dashboard in the latest teaser. According to the fresh teaser, the upcoming electric vehicle will have a 12.3-inch touchscreen. In addition, the dashboard will have a sound bar running the length of it on top. According to Volvo, the cabin will include an extensive use of eco-friendly materials. The latest teasers further reveal the simple interior of the all-electric SUV. Reportedly, the touchscreen infotainment system will offer built-in voice commands through Google Assistant for the display, and Google Maps for navigation. It will be the first Volvo vehicle to use wireless Apple CarPlay and 5G connectivity. Here are further details about the SUV which will be revealed shortly for the global market.
Volvo EX30: Exterior Styling
The Scandinavian automaker hasn't revealed extensively about the exterior of the forthcoming SUV, but in previously released teasers, the new electric product from Volvo showed to follow the larger EX90 in terms of design. It will reportedly have a multi-LED arrangement, the most recent iteration of Volvo's distinctive Thor hammer headlight design. Aside from this, a multi-LED signature will likely be added to the taillamp, similar to the EX90, at the rear. The tailboard will presumably get an upright shape, and the LED taillamps will reach onto the C-pillar.
Volvo EX30: Powertrain
Volvo has not spilled beans on the powertrain of the future EV. According to several market reports, the upcoming all-electric SUV is likely to come equipped with a 51kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) pack and a 69kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese (NMC) battery. This will enable it to claim a range of roughly 480–500 kilometres when using the EPA cycle. Exact information on the battery and range is most likely to be revealed at the global premiere.
Volvo EX30: Will it Come to India?
The automaker is tight-lipped on the launch of the SUV in our market. For now, the new electric vehicle by Volvo will mark its official global debut on June 7 and reportedly launch by the end of this year. In India, the Scandinavian automaker will probably introduce the vehicle after it will go on sale internationally.
