Bajaj Auto Registers 7% Year-on-Year Domestic 2W Sales Growth in June

Bajaj Auto has revealed its sales numbers for the month of June 2024. It is set to launch the much-awaited CNG bike in India on July 5.

In June 2024, Bajaj Auto delivered 1.77 lakh two-wheelers in the domestic market, representing a 7% rise over the 1.66 lakh units sold the year before. It shipped 1.26 lakh units, a slight 1% decline from last year's 1.27 lakh units. The manufacturer delivered 3.04 lakh two-wheelers in total, up 3% over the 2.94 lakh units sold in June of the previous year. The company credited sales success to various models, including the Bajaj Chetak, Pulsar, Platina, and Dominar. 

In the commercial segment, Bajaj experienced a 16% year-on-year increase in the domestic market, selling 39,244 units. It sent 15,857 units overseas, exhibiting an increase of 14% from 13,641 units shipped in June of last year. In all, the company delivered 54,831 CVs in June, a notable 16% increase over the 47,332 units sold the previous year.

Bajaj Auto June 2024 Sales: 2W and CV

The combined domestic sales of 2Ws and CVs increased by 8% year-on-year to 2.16 lakh units in June 2024. On the other side, the exports grew by a modest 1% with 1.42 lakh 2Ws and CVs shipped. Bajaj sold a total of 3.58 lakh units in June 2024, up 5% from 3.41 lakh units sold in the same period the previous year.

Upcoming Launches

Bajaj is set to launch its first-ever CNG bike in India on July 5. According to earlier spy photographs, the bike will probably come in two configurations. The standard model could have bulb indicators, a long, flat seat, a circular LED headlight, and a flyscreen. The more aggressive model may benefit from knuckle protectors and a braced handlebar.

While the mechanical specs of the country's first-ever CNG motorcycle are currently unknown, industry reports indicate that it would probably have a sloper engine, with a displacement between 110 and 125cc. In terms of market competition, the CNG bike won't have any direct rivals, but it will serve as an alternative to models like the Honda Shine 100, the TVS Radeon, and the Hero Splendor Plus.
