The Hyundai Creta continues to be the top-selling car in India for the second month in a row. The mid-size SUV sold 17,016 units in April 2025, reflecting a strong 10.2% year-on-year growth. Between January and April 2025, the Creta recorded a total sales of 69,914 units, highlighting its strong demand in the segment. Its sales, supported by demand for other models like the Venue, Exter, and Alcazar, pushed Hyundai Motor India Limited's (HMIL) SUV share to a remarkable 70.9% of domestic sales last month. The Hyundai Creta has redefined the SUV segment in India since its launch. With a unique blend of style, features, and performance, the SUV focuses on safety and connectivity to meet the demands of modern Indian drivers. With a customer base surpassing 12 lakh and over a decade of market presence, the Creta continues to be a symbol of Hyundai's commitment to delivering premium mobility solutions.
Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said: 'Hyundai Creta's continued dominance in the Indian market is a reflection of the trust and love that Indian customers have placed in the brand. The addition of the electric powertrain has further strengthened the brand Creta, and it is now not just a leader in the SUV segment but also a key enabler in India’s electric mobility journey.
With multiple powertrain choices, the Creta meets different needs of customers. It offers a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 113bhp and 144Nm, along with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol variant delivering 158bhp and 253Nm. The diesel engine, with the same 1.5-litre capacity, offers 114bhp and 250Nm. Drivers can choose between multiple transmission options, including the Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), a six-speed manual, a seven-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT), or a six-speed automatic.

The electric variant offers two battery choices: a 42kWh battery with a range of 390 kilometres and a 51.4kWh battery offering 473 kilometres. The 42kWh version delivers 133bhp, while the 51.4kWh model cranks up the performance with 169bhp. The battery pack, neatly integrated into the underbody, ensures the Creta EV maintains its sleek, aerodynamic design.
