In August 2024, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) reported total sales of 63,175 units (49,525 domestically and 13,650 internationally). The South Korean automaker also posted YTD (Jan-Aug 2024) overall sales of more than 5.13 lakh units, representing a 2.06% year-on-year (YoY) increase. Commenting on the brand's performance for August, Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director, and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said, 'SUVs, led by models like Creta, Venue, and Exter remain a key growth driver for HMIL in 2024 with 66.8% contribution to domestic sales. We are soon going to launch the bold new 6 and 7-seater SUV, Hyundai Alcazar, and we are confident of a strong festive season response to this new launch.'

Hyundai Alcazar to Launch in India on September 9
Hyundai India is all set to launch the facelifted Alcazar on September 9. It will be available for purchase in four different variants and nine paint jobs. The Creta-based vehicle will pack additional features aimed primarily at improving the comfort of second-row passengers. The carmaker has also increased the safety aspect of the car with this update. It is important to note bookings for the new Alcazar are underway for a token amount of Rs 25,000.
As far as safety equipment is concerned, the new Hyundai Alcazar will come with Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) features such as smart cruise control, surround view monitor, blind spot view monitor, forward collision warning & avoidance assist, lane keep assist, and driver attention warning. The standard features will include six airbags, a hill-start assist, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management, all four disc brakes, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The SUV will also offer a digital key, front parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, hill descent control, and an electrochromic inside rearview mirror.
The cabin will adorn the brown and dark blue theme. In terms of comfort features, the new Alcazar will have two 10.25-inch digital screens, ventilated front and second-row seats, dual-zone AC, connected car tech, a touch-sensitive climate control panel, adjustable thigh support and headrests, a panoramic sunroof, a magnetic pad, an eight-speaker Bose audio system, and wireless charging. It will be offered in both six and seven-seat configurations.

The facelifted Alcazar will have the same engine options as the previous generation model (1.5-litre turbo-petrol/1.5-litre diesel). The turbo-petrol unit puts out 157.8bhp of maximum power and 253Nm of peak torque. It is paired with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The diesel engine, meanwhile, produces 114.4bhp and 250Nm of peak torque and is available with either a six-speed MT or a six-speed AT gearbox. There will also be three drive modes available: sport, comfort, and eco, as well as three traction control modes: snow, sand, and mud.
