Hyundai Motor India Total Sales Drop 2.98% Year-on-Year in January
Hyundai Motor India sold 55,403 units in the domestic market in January 2025, representing a year-on-year decline of 5.45%.

Hyundai India reported a 2.98% dip in total sales for January 2025, with 65,603 units sold. Of these, 55,403 units were sold in the domestic market, reflecting a 5.45% decline compared to the previous year. However, international exports saw a strong increase of 10.48%, rising from 10,500 units in January 2024 to 11,600 units in January 2025. The Creta SUV continued to be a top choice among customers, achieving its highest-ever domestic monthly sales of 18,522 units. In addition, the popular SUV recently introduced an electric version, priced from Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Commenting on HMIL sales, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, of Hyundai Motor India Limited said, ‘We have reinforced HMIL’s position as a world-class manufacturing hub registering a 10.5% YoY growth in exports in January on the back of stable demand for our products in the overseas markets. Domestically, our first indigenous electric SUV - the Hyundai CRETA Electric which was launched at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 on 17th January 2025, has begun its innings on a strong note. It has helped propel brand CRETA to its highest ever domestic monthly sales of 18,522 units, in January 2025.’
He also added ‘Ushering in the electric revolution by developing a smart and efficient EV ecosystem to alleviate range anxiety, HMIL is set to mainstream EVs in India and will continue to augment charging infrastructure across the country. We are confident that Hyundai CRETA Electric will set new benchmarks in the Indian EV industry, providing the much-needed push for the growth of the segment.’

Hyundai's Bluelink-connected car technology has experienced impressive growth, with over 6.75 lakh vehicles sold since its introduction in 2019. Initially offering 25 features, Bluelink has evolved to include innovations like the digital key and is now available in the majority of Hyundai models.

The share of connected cars in Hyundai's retail sales skyrocketed from 4.7% in 2019 to 25.7% in 2024, showcasing a clear shift in consumer preferences. Currently, the connected car technology is offered in 12 out of Hyundai's 14 models.
