Matter has partnered with Flipkart, an e-commerce marketplace, to pre-book and release the Gujarat-based EV company's first electric-geared motorcycle in the country. Dubbed as the Aera, the motorcycle will be offered in 4 variants - the Aera 5000, the Aera 5000+, the Aera 4000 and the Aera 6000+. Launched in March 2023, the price of the Aera 5000 stands at Rs 1.44 lakh, whereas the Aera 5000+ is priced at Rs 1.54 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, India. However, the EV start-up has not disclosed the prices and details of the last two variants. Showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo in January, the new Aera bike is, according to the EV company, more than just a bike that intends to disrupt through tech innovations and lead EV transition towards a sustainable future. So, keeping in view the convenience and seamless buying experience, the partnership deal was signed. Furthermore, prospective buyers can also benefit from special offers during the time of pre-booking.

Matter Aera 5000 Range: Battery, Performance
Both the Aera 5000 and the Aera 5000+ are equipped with an IP67-rated 5kWh battery pack and a 10kW electric motor that is rated at 13bhp and 520Nm. The battery can be charged in a claimed time of 5 hours using a standard charger and in 2 hours with a fast charger. Moreover, these electric bikes use liquid-cooling for heat management and yield a claimed range of 125 kilometres on a full charge. A sprint from a standstill to 60km/h is possible in under 6 seconds.
Interestingly, the Matter Aera is said to be the first-ever electric motorcycle in India that comes mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The Aera (bike + battery) is offered with a 3-year warranty.
Matter Aera 5000 Range: Design
The Aera electric bikes boast of a sharp muscular design, which reminds one of a regular ICE-powered street bike. Design elements include a muscular fuel tank with shrouds, a belly pan, a projector headlamp with LEDs, LED indicators, a split-seat setup, higher clip-on handlebars, and a split grab rail for the pillion passenger.
Matter Aera 5000 Range: Features
The Aera 5000 range has a useful list of equipment and features, including a 7.0-inch LCD with a capacitive touchscreen, which offers information such as riding modes, navigation, and media controls. The 7.0-inch unit runs an Android software and comes with 4G connectivity. To offer safety, the electric bikes come with remote lock/unlock, geofencing, live position tracking, vehicle health monitoring, and front and rear ABS. Other notable features include a proximity-based key fob, park assist, OTA updates, progressive blinkers, welcome lights, and Bluetooth connectivity. But, the features vary depending on the variant.

Matter Aera 5000 Range: Suspension, Braking
The suspension setup comprises telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the back. While the braking duties are carried out by a front petal disc brake and a rear conventional disc brake, accompanied by ABS.
