Ola Electric Registers Sales of Over 30,000 Units in April 2023

In announcing its April 2023 sales figures, Ola Electric, India's largest electric vehicle company, claimed to have captured 40% of the EV scooter market. Ola achieved its highest monthly sales ever in April, selling over 30,000 units, and for the eighth consecutive month, it topped the sales chart.

According to sales data released by Ola Electric for the month of April 2023, the largest EV company in India has captured 40 per cent of the EV scooter market. Ola achieved its highest monthly sales ever in April, selling over 30,000 units, and for the eighth consecutive month, it topped the sales charts. To become the biggest EV manufacturer in India, Ola Electric outsold sales of electric scooters from Hero Electric, Ather, and Okinawa, among other scooter manufacturers. In India, Ola sells the S1, the S1 Air, and the S1 Pro electric scooters. In order to hasten the adoption of electric vehicles in India, Ola Electric began with the online retailing of scooters but is now actively enhancing its offline presence by establishing numerous Ola Experience Centres (ECs) across the nation. The company is about to open its 500th store, and by August it hopes to have opened 1,000. The Ola Electric Scooters are manufactured at the brand's Ola factory in Tamil Nadu, with the corporate headquarters in Bengaluru.

Sharing his thoughts on the brand's recent sales figures, Anshul Khandelwal, Chief Marketing Officer, Ola, said, “The End of ICE Age is here. The customer of today wants world-class EV products. To accelerate this momentum even further, we will continue to expand aggressively on the product front as well as ramp up our D2C network, to cater to this demand,” 

Ola S1, S1 Pro: Pricing Details 

In February 2023, the Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler start-up rejigged the variant line-up of its electric scooters. To a wide range of customers, the Ola S1 and the S1 Air were introduced with new battery pack options. Prices for Ola's electric scooters range from Rs 84,999 to Rs 1.30 lakh, ex-showroom. The flagship Ola S1 Pro is available in a single fully-loaded trim for Rs 1.30 lakh, while the Ola S1 is available in two variants with prices ranging from Rs 99,999 to Rs 1.10 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. 

Ola S1, S1 Pro: Battery Pack and Range

While the S1 has 2kWh and 3kWh battery packs, the Ola S1 Air has 2kWh, 3kWh, and 4kWh options. A larger 4kWh lithium-ion battery pack is featured in the S1 Pro. On a single charge, they are said to have a range of up to 165, 141, and 181 kilometre, respectively. The S1 Pro offers all of them in addition to an additional Hyper mode, while the S1 Air and S1 only get Eco, Normal, and Sports modes.

Ola S1, S1 Pro: Performance and Features

While the S1 Air receives a less powerful 6bhp motor, the Ola S1 and S1 Pro receive a hyperdrive electric motor with a peak power output of 11.3 bhp. These electric scooters feature MoveOS 3.0 connectivity and a 7.0-inch TFT touchscreen display. The Ola S1 Pro is the only vehicle with the cruise control feature, though.
