In FY2024-25, Toyota’s domestic sales surged to about 3.10 lakh units, reflecting a nearly 26% jump over the 2.46 lakh units recorded in FY2023-24.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has kicked off the financial year 2025-26 with strong momentum, reporting total sales of 27,324 units in April 2025, marking a 33% increase compared to 20,494 units in the same month last year. Of this, 24,833 units were delivered in the domestic market, while 2,491 units were exported. This robust performance came despite a planned plant maintenance shutdown from April 21 to 25, underscoring the brand’s sustained demand.
The company had already concluded the previous fiscal on a high note, achieving its best-ever annual sales in India. In FY2024-25, Toyota’s domestic sales surged to about 3.10 lakh units, reflecting a nearly 26% jump over the 2.46 lakh units recorded in FY2023-24. This impressive growth trajectory propelled Toyota to the fifth position among India’s top automakers.
From a broader perspective, Toyota more than doubled its growth pace compared to FY2022-23, registering a remarkable 78% spike in overall sales. The automaker also expanded its market share to 7.2%, resulting in a 1.3% surge year-over-year (YoY).

A major contributor to Toyota’s success has been its deepening collaboration with Maruti Suzuki, through which badge-engineered models such as the Urban Cruiser Taisor and Glanza have consistently delivered solid numbers. Meanwhile, the combined sales of the Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross reached 1.07 lakh units, translating to a 9% annual growth.
In the midsize SUV category, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder posted 60,388 units, up 23% YoY, while the Glanza hatchback, despite witnessing a 7% decline, maintained stable volumes with 48,839 units sold.
Speaking on the latest sales performance, Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, said, 'The sustained growth is a testament to our unwavering commitment to offering the Indian market the right products and technologies at the right time. Our multi-pathway approach, which provides diverse technology options, has enabled us to respond positively to shifting customer needs and has ensured strong demand across our line-up.
