TVS Motor Company reported a 17% increase in sales in May, delivering over 4.31 lakh units. This growth reflects steady demand across its range of motorcycles, scooters, and three-wheelers. Domestic sales remained strong, supported by efficient production and distribution systems, while exports continued to make significant contributions. The performance highlights TVS’s ability to maintain momentum despite market pressures and evolving consumer preferences. Key drivers included popular models in both petrol and electric segments. With sustained sales growth, TVS appears well-positioned to carry this momentum into the second half of the financial year. Here's a closer look at the segment-wise sales figures recorded by the company.
TVS Motor Company saw a notable year-on-year rise in overall vehicle sales in May 2025, delivering upwards of 4.31 lakh units – a clear improvement over the 3.70 lakh units sold during the same month last year. Two-wheeler sales alone accounted for more than 4.16 lakh units, marking a 16% growth from May 2024’s figure of 3.59 lakh units. Within the domestic market, two-wheeler demand remained strong, with volumes rising by 14% to around 3.09 lakh units from 2.71 lakh.

Breaking it down by category, motorcycle sales led the charge with a 22% gain, increasing from approximately 1.74 lakh to 2.11 lakh units. Scooter sales followed closely, registering a 15% improvement to exceed 1.67 lakh units, up from over 1.45 lakh.
TVS also recorded robust growth overseas. Total exports jumped by 22%, with unit shipments moving from 96,966 in May 2024 to over 1.18 lakh units this year. Two-wheeler exports alone climbed 21%, reaching about 1.07 lakh units from 88,450.
In the electric vehicle segment, the company reported a 50% year-on-year jump in sales, with EV deliveries rising from 18,674 to 27,976 units. However, TVS flagged supply chain constraints, particularly around magnet components, as a potential hurdle in the near future.

The three-wheeler category also posted a sharp rise, with sales up 46% to 15,109 units compared to 10,324 units in May last year. Of these, 1,829 units were electric three-wheelers.
