Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus Get Discounts of Over 1 Lakh in April 2023

For the Taigun SUV and the Virtus sedan, Volkswagen dealers are giving discounts of up to Rs 1.41 lakh and Rs 1.03 lakh, respectively. These discounts are available for both the BS6 Phase 2-compliant models and the 2022 and 2023 model years of the vehicles.

The Virtus sedan and the Taigun SUV are currently available at attractive discounts of up to Rs 1.03 lakh and Rs 1.41 lakh, respectively, at Volkswagen dealerships. The 2022 and 2023 models, along with the BS6 Phase 2-compliant variations, of the vehicles are all eligible for these discounts. Meanwhile, the German auto manufacturer has added new trims, colours, and limited editions to its Taigun and Virtus line-ups. The 1.5-litre TSI manual in the top-spec GT Plus trim and the 1.5-litre TSI DSG in the less expensive GT trim will soon be available for the Taigun midsize SUV. Similarly, the top-of-the-line GT Plus trim of the Virtus will also come with the 1.5-litre TSI manual. These new powertrain options are set to go on sale in June this year. Volkswagen Taigun SUV: Discounts and Benefits up to Rs 1.41 Lakh

The 2022 model year Taigun is available with discounts ranging from Rs 65,000 to Rs 1.41 lakh, depending on the variant. While the Taigun top-of-the-line manual variant gets the biggest discount of the lot, the Taigun Comfortline manual variant gets the smallest. On the other hand, the 2023 model year Taigun is available with discounts up to Rs 91,000 – the Taigun top-spec automatic variant receiving the largest discount. The 2023 model year Taigun, which now complies with BS6 Phase 2 norms, is also eligible for a maximum discount of up to Rs 40,000.

Volkswagen Virtus Sedan: Discounts and Benefits up to Rs 1.03 Lakh

The 2022 model year Virtus Highline manual version gets a discount of Rs 1.03 lakh, just like the Taigun. For the 2022 automatic Virtus GT Plus version, discounts begin at Rs 20,000. For the Virtus model year 2023, discounts range from Rs 20,000 to Rs 65,000, depending on the variant. Discounts on models that meet the new Real Driving Emissions (RDE) standards range from Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000, depending on the variant.

Volkswagen ID.4 GTX EV India Debut

Volkswagen recently showcased the ID.4 GTX during its annual press conference in India. The electric SUV is already on sale in markets like the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Internationally, the SUV is available with two electric motors capable of producing 299bhp and 310Nm of peak torque. When fully charged, the ID.4 GTX's 77kWh battery provides a WLTP range of 479km. The electric vehicle can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in six seconds. Volkswagen is yet to reveal the mechanical specifications of the upcoming Volkswagen ID.4 GTX EV for our market. However, we expect these details to be revealed closer to the launch. The electric model will most likely be available in India as a completely built-up unit (CBU).

The exterior styling of the ID.4 GTX electric model is sportier than that of the standard ID.4 electric SUV. The front bumper of the upcoming electric SUV is sportier and angular, with more aggressive air intakes than the base model. The front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper all have gloss black highlights. The ID.4 GTX's front grille, rear liftgate, and side fenders get GTX badging. A LED light bar runs across the width of the rear end. Furthermore, the SUV rides on 20-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the electric SUV features a 10-inch floating touchscreen and a 5.3-inch fully digital instrument console. The Volkswagen ID.4 GTX's interior is all-black, lending it a sporty appearance. According to the manufacturer, the three-zone climate control feature will improve passenger comfort. The vehicle also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for connecting personal devices remotely. Users can interact with the system without taking their hands off the wheel because it supports speech recognition and gesture control. In addition, the driver's seat has a 12-way power adjustment option.

Coming to the features of the car, the ID.4 GTX is equipped with a surround-view camera, seven airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and driver-assist features, such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and lane keep assist. In terms of pricing, the ID.4 GTX EV is expected to cost Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
