The Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Chrome 1.5-litre TSI DSG trim stands out with the most generous offer – discounts worth up to Rs 2.50 lakh.

Volkswagen India is offering sizable incentives on the Virtus and Taigun throughout May 2025, with total benefits reaching as high as Rs 2.50 lakh, depending on the model and variant. The Taigun GT Plus Chrome 1.5-litre TSI DSG trim stands out with the most generous offer – discounts worth up to Rs 2.50 lakh. The Highline 1.0-litre TSI AT variant follows closely with benefits of up to Rs 2.35 lakh. On the sedan side, the Virtus Highline and Topline 1.0-litre TSI AT variants are available with discounts of up to Rs 1.90 lakh, while the GT Plus Sport 1.5-litre TSI DSG gets a markdown of up to Rs 1.35 lakh. A flat Rs 20,000 scrappage bonus is also being offered across all variants. These limited-period deals may differ based on dealership location and stock availability.
For the Virtus, the 1.0-litre TSI automatic variants in the Highline and Topline trims come with combined benefits of up to Rs 1.90 lakh, while the GT Line trim receives a price cut of Rs 80,000. The more powerful 1.5-litre TSI DSG-equipped versions – GT Plus Sport and GT Plus Chrome – are being offered with discounts of up to Rs 1.35 lakh. Additionally, all Virtus variants qualify for a Rs 20,000 scrappage bonus. Volkswagen is also promoting the base Comfortline 1.0-litre TSI manual variant with a limited-time offer of Rs 10.44 lakh, significantly lower than its regular ex-showroom price of Rs 11.56 lakh.

The Virtus offers two engine choices. The first is a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine that generates 113bhp and 178Nm of torque, available with either a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission. The second option is a 1.5-litre TSI Evo engine, found in the GT Performance Line variant, which is paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission for enhanced performance.
Similar offers extend to the Taigun compact SUV. The Topline variant with the 1.0-litre TSI automatic engine is eligible for up to Rs 2.35 lakh in savings, while the Highline and GT Line trims offer up to Rs 1.40 lakh and Rs 1.45 lakh off, respectively. Even greater benefits are available on the 1.5-litre TSI DSG variants, with the GT Plus Sport and GT Plus Chrome trims receiving discounts of up to Rs 2 lakh and Rs 2.50 lakh. A Rs 20,000 scrappage incentive is available across the full Taigun range as well. The entry-level Comfortline 1.0-litre TSI manual variant, typically priced at Rs 11.80 lakh, is currently offered at a special rate of Rs 10.99 lakh. All listed prices are ex-showroom, and offers may vary by dealership and location.

The Taigun houses a 1.5-litre four-cylinder and a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine. The 1.0-litre engine delivers 115bhp and 175Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre engine produces 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. Both engines come with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, but there are automatic transmission options available – a six-speed torque converter for the 1.0-litre TSI and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for the 1.5-litre TSI.
