The GSX-R1000 is a beautiful reality – what you see here is a rendered ‘naked’ on the same basic platform. And while we may not have seen it as yet, everybody is waiting for it to emerge from Hamamatsu.

We’re talking, of course, about the very competitive field of sporty, naked motorbikes. Each year, the competition is renewed thanks to products that are more eye-catching, sophisticated, and fast – and the only company that hasn’t descended into the arena is Suzuki, who still don’t have a naked bike in its range. In this rendering is our interpretation of what it ought to look like – the engine should be the in-line four of the current GSX-R1000, obviously in a softened avatar so as to improve its power delivery. Even the chassis should be the same as the faired sport bike. The frame should remain a double diagonal beam, the swing arm should continue its asymmetric twin design to allow the passage of the exhaust piping. The front forks and the rear mono shock absorber should remain the same as well. And it’ll have high handlebars, like the street fighter that the German and English used to buy since the times of the GSX-R1100. Of course, it’ll be very important to work on the aesthetics as well – with a minimalist front end, dominated by a sharp headlight unit and two conveyors at the sides of the radiator, reduced in size, as a function of the lower engine performance. The fuel tank, seat, and tail end will take their inspiration from the style of the ‘Suzuki Gixxer’ – the space for the passenger will be comfortable, although it could well have a plastic shell cover (as an alternative to the second seat) to make the design and style even more aggressive. And rumors also hint towards a certain amount of chrome components. We’ll just have to wait and see...
