After being around for nearly six years in India, the Maserati&nbsp;Quattroporte receives much-needed updates with the launch of the 2019&nbsp;version.&nbsp;

Maserati has launched the 2019 iteration of its four-door grand tourer, the Quattroporte, at&nbsp;₹ 1.74 crore for the GranLusso trim and&nbsp;₹ 1.79 crore&nbsp;(Ex-showroom, New Delhi) for the GranSport trim (main image). The 2019 model carries over the mechanical specs from its predecessor but features some exterior and interior design tweaks.

Talking about the updates, the 2019&nbsp;Quattroporte gets two new colour options - Rosso Potente and Blu Nobile, a re-designed gear lever, Pieno&nbsp;Fiore full-grain leather upholstery and two interior finishes. The base GranLusso trim is distinguishable by its lower front fascia design, which features an elegant floating-bridge element and a subtle spoiler. It is rounded off with a chrome bumper finish and body-colour bumper profiles. Further, it sits on 20-inch Mercurio Alloy wheels and black-painted brake callipers.

As suggested by the name, the sportier GranSport trim features centre and side air intakes which are both&nbsp;functional and help in giving more aggressive styling. At the back, the GranSport features a Piano-Black spoiler. Further, it sits on bigger, 21-inch forged aluminium Atlante alloy wheels which house red-painted brake callipers, adding to the overall sportier appeal.&nbsp;

In terms of interior equipment, the 2019 Quattroporte features the&nbsp;Maserati Touch Control Plus (MTC+) infotainment system which can be controlled via an&nbsp;8.4-inch high-resolution touchscreen. The infotainment system also&nbsp;offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. As standard, owners&nbsp;get a 10-speaker Harman-Kardon premium sound system which works in tandem with a 12-channel, 900W subwoofer. However, for enthusiasts, Maserati also offers an optional 1,280W Bowers and Wilkins 15-speaker surround sound system.

As mentioned above, the 2019&nbsp;Quattroporte remains unchanged mechanically. This means that it is still powered by the 3.0-litre diesel V6 motor which generates 271bhp and 600Nm of torque and is mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox. While the standard Quattroporte is only sold with a diesel engine in India, its V8-thumping sibling, the Quattroporte GTS, will be launched in its 2019 guise at a later time in the year.
