KTM has launched 10 motorcycles in India across different&nbsp;segments, after a lot of speculation.&nbsp;To satisfy the needs of off-roading aficionados,&nbsp;Team Orange has added the 1290 Super Adventure S and 890 Adventure R to its Indian roster of large ADVs. Talking specifically about the 890 Adventure R, the bike&nbsp;competes with the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE, BMW F 900 GS, and Ducati DesertX. It carries a price tag of Rs 15.80 lakh (ex-showroom).&nbsp;It gets&nbsp;Dakar racing motorcycle-inspired (450 Rally) design, complemented by a strong build, orange and white paint job, and rising stance.&nbsp;The 890 Adventure R is distinguished by its dual LED headlights with boomerang-shaped DRLs&nbsp;and a bigger visor. <h2>KTM 890 Adventure R: Engine</h2>

The 890 Adventure R is propelled by the same 889cc parallel twin engine as the 890 Duke R.&nbsp;In contrast to the naked machine's 121bhp and 99Nm, the&nbsp;unit generates 103.2bhp and 100Nm on the ADV. It gets&nbsp;a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and a quickshifter.

<h2>KTM 890 Adventure R: Hardware and Features</h2>

The middleweight ADV is supported&nbsp;by an adjustable WP Apex monoshock and WP Apex 43mm front USD forks.&nbsp;It has&nbsp;320mm front disc and 260mm rear disc brakes.&nbsp;The bike is equipped with wire-spoke wheels (21-inch front and 18-inch rear) and dual-purpose tyres. Features-wise, the 890 Adventure R has&nbsp;different ride modes, switchable ABS with an off-road mode, cruise control,&nbsp;&nbsp;traction control, and a 5-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation.

In the adventure-touring market,&nbsp;the introduction of the 890 Adventure R in India represents a major turning point for KTM.&nbsp;With its eye-catching appearance, premium features, and remarkable performance,&nbsp;it aims to establish itself as one of the leading adventure bike models in India.&nbsp;

In the ADV segment, KTM has also introduced the&nbsp;1290 Super Adventure S for Rs 22.74 lakh (ex-showroom).&nbsp;This&nbsp;bike packs a 1301cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine with 158bhp and 138Nm. It is paired with a six-speed transmission,&nbsp;a bi-directional quickshifter, and a slipper clutch.&nbsp;The newly launched 1290 Super Adventure S locks horns with the BMW R 1300 GS, the Triumph Tiger 1200 series,&nbsp;and the Ducati Multistrada V4.

The KTM 890 Adventure R is propelled by an 889cc parallel twin-engine that produces a maximum power of 103.2bhp and a peak torque of 100Nm.

The WP suspension on the 2023&nbsp;890 Adventure R&nbsp;is now completely adjustable on both ends.

The 890 Adventure R was on display by <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/ktm/">KTM India</a> at the India Bike Week 2022, currently underway in Goa. The 2023 version of the 890 R has&nbsp;been updated with some fresh styling and several&nbsp;technological enhancements. So, without any further ado, let's have a quick look at all the significant changes received by the&nbsp;KTM 890 Adventure R for 2023.

Speaking of the powertrain, an 889cc LC8c parallel twin engine generating&nbsp;103bhp of maximum power as well as&nbsp;100Nm of peak torque, powers the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/ktm/890-adventure-r/">KTM 890 Adventure R</a>. The motor is coupled with a six-speed transmission and mounted inside a steel tube frame that is supported by WP front forks and a WP mono-shock with compression and rebound adjustments.

Coming to its styling, the KTM 890 Adventure R has an aggressive off-road appearance with a split LED headlight stacked vertically on top of a smoked windscreen. For additional safety, it has a belly pan and handlebar protectors. The windscreen is larger in the latest iteration of the 890 R as compared to its predecessor.&nbsp;The KTM Adventure's chassis features a more prominent front fairing that now connects to the side panels. Moreover, the Continental tyres on the&nbsp;previous models have been replaced by the&nbsp;Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres for the 2023 edition.&nbsp;

In terms of features, the 890 Adventure R features a&nbsp;TFT screen that gets you access to different rider aids, including traction control, ABS, ride modes, etc. The instrument console of the 2023 version, however, has been redesigned and now includes more functions as well as&nbsp;smartphone connectivity.

Meanwhile, KTM India has not yet made any formal announcement regarding the exact&nbsp;launch timeline of the 2023 890 Adventure R in India. It's unlikely for it to&nbsp;come to our market anytime soon.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
