<p>Mercedes-Benz has launched its all-new AMG G 63 SUV in India. Priced at Rs 3.60 crore (ex-showroom), the Mercedes-AMG G 63 facelift gets a mild-hybrid powertrain, subtle design updates, and new features compared to the outgoing model. According to&nbsp;Mercedes-Benz India, the first batch of&nbsp;over 120 samples has been already accounted for. However, those who missed getting an allotment of the SUV in the first batch can make reservations now. The deliveries for the second batch will commence&nbsp;in Q3 2025.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Powering the 2025&nbsp;Mercedes-AMG G 63 is a&nbsp;bi-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The power and torque numbers&nbsp;– 577bhp and 850Nm, respectively&nbsp;– remain the same as before, but the 2025 iteration gets an additional 20bhp bump, thanks to the mild-hybrid tech. The V8 engine is mated to a&nbsp;9-speed torque converter gearbox, supplemented by an AMG&nbsp;Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system as standard.</p>

<p>With a 'Race Start' feature debuting in the model, the new&nbsp;Mercedes-AMG G 63 reaches 100km/h in 4.3 seconds (claimed) before topping out at 240km/h. Also available is a&nbsp;launch control function, offered&nbsp;for the first time. Chassis-wise, the facelifted model gets an AMG Active Ride Control suspension system with&nbsp;hydraulic roll stabilisation and adaptive adjustable damping, providing 'exceptionally agile handling and enhanced comfort'.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>New Mercedes-AMG G 63: Exterior</h2>

<p>Exterior updates on the Mercedes-AMG G 63 include a radiator grille (with a dark chrome finish), a new AMG-specific&nbsp;bumper with vertical louvres, and rounded A-pillars. The vehicle is offered with&nbsp;22-inch alloy wheels and a carbon fibre spare wheel cover, both as optional extras.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<h2>New Mercedes-AMG G 63: Interior, Features</h2>

<p>Inside, the facelifted&nbsp;AMG G 63 offers&nbsp;the latest MBUX NTG7 infotainment system, which is a 12.3-inch unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is also a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster,&nbsp;an 18-speaker Burmester sound system, a three-spoke AMG performance steering wheel, reworked switchgear, and USB Type-C charging ports. Nappa leather upholstery, customisable ambient lighting, and&nbsp;augmented reality-based navigation also form part of the mix. For the first time, the G-Class model gets keyless entry. With Mercedes-Benz's&nbsp;Manufaktur customisation program, owners can spec their cars with 29 exterior paint schemes and 31&nbsp;upholstery options.</p>

<p>In terms of safety, the new AMG G 63 is equipped with 360-degree cameras and&nbsp;a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The latter includes&nbsp;active brake assist and lane-keeping assist.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The limited-run AMG G 63 "Grand Edition" has been released by Mercedes-Benz in India with an ex-showroom&nbsp;price of Rs 4 crore. However, there is a very important factor to note if you plan to get your hands on this ultra-rare luxury SUV. The 25 units of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Grand Edition reserved for India&nbsp;will be allocated only to current Mercedes-Maybach, Mercedes-AMG, and S-Class owners.&nbsp;The G 63 Grand Edition's global manufacturing is restricted to a total of&nbsp;1,000 units.&nbsp;According to Mercedes-Benz, the deliveries of the limited-edition SUV will commence&nbsp;in the first quarter of&nbsp;2024.&nbsp;In terms of differences from the standard G 63, the Grand Edition has the AMG and Mercedes logos in a special Kalahari Gold Magno hue,&nbsp;establishing the SUV's direct connection to the original G model from 1979. <h2>Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 Grand Edition: Design</h2>

<p>The new Grand Edition has Gold-coloured accents and is painted in the special Manufaktur Night Black Magno. For the first time, it has the Mercedes star and the AMG emblem in the shade of Kalahari Gold Magno. The bonnet, which is likewise finished with Kalahari Gold Magno, bears the Affalterbach logo. In addition, the Grand Edition receives optical underride protection up front,&nbsp;Gold inlays in the front and rear bumpers, and the Mercedes Star on the spare wheel ring.&nbsp;The Mercedes Star is also&nbsp;finished in Tech Gold.&nbsp;The 22-inch AMG forged alloy wheels on the AMG G 63 Grand Edition have a cross-spoke design and are adorned in Tech Gold with a Matte Black central locking nut.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With the AMG symbol on the black door sills with illuminated borders, the cabin also receives a Black and Gold makeover. Black Nappa leather seats and the floor mats have Gold contrast stitching. Furthermore,&nbsp;Gold edging is incorporated into the backrests and the AMG emblem has been done in Gold as well.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The roof grab handles are dressed in Nappa leather on the Grand Edition, whereas the other interior trims have been done&nbsp;in&nbsp;carbon with copper thread. This raises the bar for precision in detailing. The limited-edition SUV also comes with a Dinamica microfibre leather-wrapped AMG performance steering wheel with a G 63 badge. While the majority of the features of the new edition are pre-set, the manufacturer is providing a few flexible options that can be customised.</p>

<h2>Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 Grand Edition: Engine and Transmission</h2>

<p>The Mercedes-AMG G 63 Grand Edition's classic 4.0-litre V8 engine, which has been modified to deliver&nbsp;578bhp of maximum power and 850Nm of peak torque, drives the model. A nine-speed automatic gearbox takes care of&nbsp;the transmission duties.&nbsp;The car can go&nbsp;from 0 to 100km/h in 4.5 seconds and boasts a top speed of 220km/h.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As mentioned before, the AMG G 63 Grand Edition will start being delivered by Mercedes-Benz India in the first quarter of 2024.</p>

The Mercedes Benz GLC in the second-generation avatar is one of the upcoming models, scheduled to launch reportedly around the end of July 2023. <h2>Mercedes-Benz India Sales Performance</h2>

<p>According to Mercedes-Benz India, the E-Class LWB remained the brand's top-selling model, but in the first half of this year, the GLE overtook the GLA as the best-selling SUV. The GLS, AMG G 63, S-Class, Maybach GLS, and Maybach S-Class, as previously indicated, were also in high demand. Further, the brand-new C-Class significantly increased overall sales. Additionally, thanks to the newly released, in-demand EQB and EQS, the company's electric vehicle line-up saw a 10x rise in sales compared to the same period the last year.&nbsp;The firm recorded strong results for the second quarter in addition to half-yearly revenues.&nbsp;With its best-ever Q2 sales volume of 3,831 vehicles, the luxury car manufacturer experienced an 8% gain in the second quarter. Additionally, it claimed a 5% increase in demand for its top-end models.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC Teased Ahead of India Launch</h2>

<p>Last month, Mercedes-Benz officially teased the new&nbsp;GLC in India. Reportedly, the updated model will launch by the end of July this year. Internationally, the GLC is available with two four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, as well as plug-in hybrids with a range of up to 120 kilometre, all of which come standard with 4Matic all-wheel drive. There is no official update, but several industry reports indicate that the luxury auto major might introduce the GLC 200 with a 2.0-litre&nbsp;petrol engine and the GLC 220d with a 2.0-litre diesel engine to the Indian market.&nbsp;In June of last year, the second-generation GLC made its international debut. A new range of engines, including three new plug-in hybrid drivetrains, are available for the new GLC, which is also bigger and has a more opulent and technologically advanced interior.</p>
