Andretti has signed Nico Mueller for the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, where he will race alongside Season 9 World Champion Jake Dennis. Formula E: Andretti And Porsche Extend Partnership Till 2026

Andretti has confirmed that their collaboration with Porsche Motorsport in Formula E will continue through Season 12.  With 113 points, Andretti sits third in the Teams' Championship in season 10.

Formula 1 rejected Andretti Global's application to join the F1 racing grid in either 2025 or 2026. However, Formula One stated on Wednesday that it will reevaluate the issue in 2028, in line with the availability of engines for competition from General Motors. Michael Andretti and General Motors' (under the Cadillac name) attempt to join the premier racing series encountered strong resistance from most of the current ten teams and F1 management.

In November, GM revealed that it has registered with the governing body of Formula One to become an engine supplier beginning in 2028, which caused complications. Formula One's main problem since Liberty Media took over in 2017 has been the requirement that a new team prove it can contribute value, which might lead to the destabilisation of the 10-team structure and a reduction in the prize fund.

After a comprehensive business analysis, F1 said that Andretti had not shown enough advantages to justify the risks and drawbacks. In addition, Formula One had doubts about Andretti's qualifications and competitiveness to participate in the premier racing series.

Importantly, current members will get a portion of the proceeds from an anti-dilution fund that all new participants are required to pay into. To make up for the money that existing teams lost out on when they had to split the pot with a new organisation, the most recent Concorde Agreement included this clause. The teams, however, are now demanding a threefold increase, claiming that the $200 million fee set for this fund is inadequate.

An entry for 2028 would fall under the subsequent Concorde Agreement, which is likely to reflect this proposed revision. So, compared to entering the 2025 season, Andretti or any potential new team would have to pay three times as much.

Even though the official permit is still pending, the team has been busy hiring more people at their design headquarters in Silverstone and is planning to move to a bigger site nearby. For the 2023–2024 Formula E World Championship, Andretti Global&nbsp;introduced an entirely new livery decked with the colours white, red, and blue.&nbsp;The renowned American outfit&nbsp;unveiled the look to the public on Friday afternoon. This is the first updated livery from the Formula E team&nbsp;since changing its&nbsp;name to Andretti Global. White makes up the majority of the livery, while red dominates the side of the car and streaks to the back. In addition, there is a blue stripe that starts near the wing mirrors and runs the length of the vehicle.&nbsp;In Valencia, where preseason testing is scheduled to&nbsp;take place, the fresh&nbsp;livery for the Porsche customer team will mark its debut&nbsp;next&nbsp;week. For those who are unaware,&nbsp;the Andretti Formula E team&nbsp;has retained&nbsp;their season 9 world champion Jake Dennis. Meanwhile,&nbsp;Norman Nato has replaced David Backmann&nbsp;for season 10.

The introduction of Andretti Global marks a crucial turning point in the team's illustrious history by unifying all facets of the business under a single name. The American team presently competes on eight different motorsports platforms, racing on six different continents, and boasts more than 260 victories. <h2>New Racing&nbsp;Number for Dennis</h2>

Dennis' Porsche 99X Electric will also&nbsp;display a new number apart from&nbsp;a unique livery style. He will drive the famous No. 1 for the entirety of Season 10 as a fitting tribute to his victory in Season 9, which is a privilege only given to the current Driver Champion. Dennis said of his decision to drive in the No. 1 for the upcoming season,&nbsp;“I’ve always wanted to earn the right to use the No. 1 at some point in my career, and to do so for the first time in our new Andretti Global livery makes the moment even more special.”

Norman Nato, the newest addition, will be racing alongside the champion in contention. The Frenchman will honour his late colleague and fellow countryman Jules Bianchi by wearing the No. 17 on his Porsche 99x Electric. He remarked,&nbsp;“I’m proud to race under the No. 17 for the upcoming season – the number means a lot to me. I started in karting and won championships with the 17, but Jules also raced with the number, which makes it even more special. It’s a tribute to a great friend and an outstanding driver.”

Since its&nbsp;first Formula E race in 2014, Andretti Formula E squad has amassed ten victories, twelve pole positions, and a driver championship. This season marks the highly anticipated landmark tenth season for the team. The FIA has given Andretti Global the green light to enter Formula 1, allowing them to field a team in the prestigious motorsports championship. Andretti Global and Cadillac, their commercial partner, still have work to do to win over F1 rights holder Liberty Media and the established teams, who are adamantly opposed to increasing the grid size beyond 20 cars. However, expanding the grid does not involve a vote from the teams. Andretti spent three years fighting for FIA approval to restore one of racing's most legendary names to its former glory. Michael Andretti, son of 1978 Formula 1 champion Mario, competed in 13 races that year. Since 2021, the Andretti team has been looking for a spot on the grid. Recently, they announced a collaboration with General Motors to run as Andretti-Cadillac, providing what many of the current teams had hoped for.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said: “The FIA was very clear in establishing stringent criteria for entry from the outset of the Expressions of Interest procedure. Our objective, after rigorous due diligence during the application phase, was to only approve prospective entries which satisfied the set criteria and illustrated that they would add value to the sport."

F1 said in a statement, “We note the FIA’s conclusions in relation to the first and second phases of their process and will now conduct our own assessment of the merits of the remaining application.”

<h2>F1: Why are Formula 1 Teams Against Expanding the Grid?</h2>

Currently ranked third and fourth on IndyCar's all-time win list, respectively, the father and son duo are two of the most accomplished drivers in American open-wheel sport. The president of the FIA, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, has officially stated his support for the Andretti effort, which has been ongoing for years.

After Andretti requested that the grid be enlarged to enable new entrants, FIA president Ben Sulayem (who took office in late 2021) oversaw the start of an "expression of interest" process for possible new teams this year. Andretti made the move after his attempt to buy an existing team in 2021 failed.

In the first round, the FIA received seven applications. F1's governing board dove deep and charged a fee of USD 300,000 to move forward with the remaining five. There were only four applications that saw the process through to completion, and Andretti was ultimately chosen because the team owner proposed using General Motors' Cadillac brand for their engines.

Most of the current teams have spoken out against widening the grid to accommodate anyone, including a General Motors-sponsored team from the United States. This year, Formula 1 will hold three races in the United States and five in North America, capitalising on the American audience's interest in the European-dominated racing series to attract sponsors to the sport.

However, the current teams say that they have put in too much money into F1 for a new team to buy their way in. This includes prominent players Red Bull and Mercedes. The teams have complained that the expansion reduces their share of the revenue despite the fact that the anti-dilution fee for new entrants is set at USD 200 million.
