The Aprilia RSV4 and RSV4 Factory&nbsp;are propelled by a 1099cc liquid-cooled&nbsp;V4 engine that produces a maximum power of&nbsp;220bhp (3bhp more) and a peak torque of 125Nm.&nbsp;A six-speed gearbox transfers power to the back wheel.&nbsp;The V4 receives 4mm larger throttle bodies (52mm) and a new exhaust system&nbsp;with a repositioned catalytic converter to decrease the heat directed at the rider.&nbsp;It also allows for simpler installation of custom exhaust&nbsp;mufflers.&nbsp;

The bikes have the same chassis,&nbsp;but the RSV4 Factory boasts semi-active suspension from Ohlins.&nbsp;The braking chores are handled by Brembo Hypure brake callipers.&nbsp;To anticipate rider needs,&nbsp;the Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) system now has predictive capabilities&nbsp;that monitor real-time data such as speed and lean angle.&nbsp;The motorcycle also features a five-inch TFT color display with redesigned graphics, a fuel level indicator, new backlit handlebar controls, and a more lightweight upper triple clamp.&nbsp;

As of now, the Italian manufacturer has not revealed anything about the launch of&nbsp;RSV4 bikes in India.&nbsp;However, market reports suggest that the revised versions could hit our streets next year.

Updated Aprilia RSV4, RSV4 Factory Revealed at EICMA 2024

At EICMA 2024, Aprilia introduced the revamped RSV4 and RSV4 Factory motorcycles with visual and mechanical upgrades.

Following the Aprilia RS660 and the Tuono 660, the cutting edge machinery RSV4 and the Tuono V4 are expected to be launched in India soon, along with its respective Factory versions

The 2021 Aprilia RSV4 broke cover in January this year and the 2021 RSV4 Factory was unveiled in March. Both the Supersports&nbsp;have already been listed on the manufacturer’s official India website. The 2021 Tuono V4 and the Tuono V4 Factory that were showcased early this year have been listed on the official Aprilia India website as well. This hints at an early India launch of the four aforementioned Italian motorcycles.

Currently, <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/bike-news/2021-aprilia-tuono-660-and-rs-660-india-pricing-revealed-109121/">Aprilia India has 2021 the RS660 and the Tuono 660 in its portfolio</a>. The addition of the 2021 RSV4, RSV4 Factory, Tuono V4, and the Tuono V4 Factory will make a total of six motorcycles in its portfolio, along with six scooters.

The 2021 Aprilia RSV4 gets a marginally bigger engine that is Euro 5 compliant (BS6) compliant. The displacement is up to 1,099cc from 1,078cc. The chassis that houses the V4 engine has been reworked too. The swingarm is lighter and the overall ergonomics have been revised as well. The Tuono V4 gets a 1,077cc V4 and pumps out 174.5bhp and 121Nm of torque. The chassis and other mechanical components have been revised for the 2021 model year as well, in turn, it has resulted in lighter cycle parts and mechanical components.

Both the motorcycles get extensive electronic aids and features. The Factory versions of the RSV4 and the Tuono get uprated semi-active electronic suspension units. The RSV4 Factory also gets forged wheels and upgraded brakes.

Higher capacity and improved aerodynamics make&nbsp;the 2021 Aprilia RSV4 Factory a cutting edge supersport motorcycle. It could be launched in India via the CBU route by Q4, 2021.

Aprilia has just taken the wraps off the 2021 RSV4 Factory and the motorcycle gets exterior and mechanical updates. The 2021 RSV4 now has improved aerodynamics and an engine that displaces more cubic-centimetres. More details are as follows.

Aerodynamics

When completely tucked in, the more aggressive riding posture now isolates the head and the shoulder from wind up to 11 per cent. The channelling of air-flow into the air-intake has increased the air pressure in the air-box by 7 per cent. The winglets observed on the side panels are instead integrated into the double-wall fairing. Aprilia says the efficiency of winglets was optimised through calculations on CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software and wind-tunnel testing, even before it went on testing grounds. The credits for the improved aerodynamics go to Aprilia Racing’s aerodynamic engineers. The downforce created by the aero design improves stability at high-speeds, while the same decreases the tendency of the motorcycle’s corner-exit-wheelies. Small surfaces of the side panels leave the front wheel exposed to benefit its handling i.e to improve manoeuvrability - Something that Aprilia already uses in the RS-GP, their MotoGP motorcycle.

Engine upgrade

Chaps at Aprilia have increased the bore of the V4 engine from 52.3 mm to 53.3 mm, while the stroke length remains the same (81mm). In turn, the new engine displaces 1099cc as opposed to 1078cc of the previous motorcycle. The crankshaft is new and the upper crankcase has been adjusted to the higher capacity engine block. How does it benefit you ask? The torque has been bumped up from 122Nm to 125Nm and the peak torque is achieved a 500rpm little early in the rev-band, at 10,500rpm. This should make the motorcycle more, wheelie friendly? But the aerodynamic upgrade mentioned before should keep that in check. The power figure is unchanged, 217 HP at 13,000rpm.

Mechanicals and electronics

The motorcycle employs a redesigned swingarm that is 600gm lighter and the reinforced mountings have increased the swingarm rigidity by 30 per cent. The motorcycle gets semi-active suspension sourced from Ohlins. The suspension can be electronically adjusted depending on the tyres one equips the RSV4 Factory with. The steering damper is also sourced from Ohlins. The braking system includes lightweight Brembo Stylema callipers and Aprilia is offering carbon air-ducts to cool the braking unit as an optional extra. The motorcycle comes equipped with six riding modes and a host of electronics including, wheelie control, traction control and ABS.

The motorcycle is expected to be sold in the Indian market via the CBU route and could be launched by the end of the year. It rivals the BMW M 1000 RR, Honda CBR1000RR-R SP and the soon expected Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR.

After a long wait, Aprilia has finally launched the new RSV4. The updated litre-class superbike&nbsp;comes&nbsp;with a number of significant changes,&nbsp;meaning that the wait has been well worth it!

Here are the key highlights of the 2021 Aprilia RSV4.

If you love&nbsp;superbikes, you’ll know that the RSV4 is one of the most loved litre-class sports bikes out there. However, over the time the competition left it behind in terms of tech and features in the last few years, and the RSV4 failed to make any real strides on that front&nbsp;– it just received some minor evolutionary updates&nbsp;to keep it in the race. This time, however, the changes are more revolutionary.

Let’s start with the heart of the matter – the engine. For 2021, the RSV4 gets an updated V4 unit, which&nbsp;displaces 1,099cc as compared to the outgoing motorcycle’s 1,078cc. Aprilia hasn’t revealed many details about the new powertrain, but they do say it gets a new exhaust system. Power output is unchanged at&nbsp;214bhp, which should be enough for any occasion.&nbsp;

Along with the engine, the electronics package has also been updated – the RSV4 now gets a new Marelli 11MP ECU and a six-axis IMU. A total of six riding modes will be on offer – three for the track (including two customisable) and three for the road (including one customisable). The riding modes will alter the traction control, wheelie control, engine braking, ABS, and other parameters. In addition to this, there’s a new and larger TFT display.

The chassis has been modified, too, as the RSV4 now gets a lighter swingarm, which is inspired by the team’s RS-GP MotoGP machine. Along with that, the ergonomics are revised, and there are a new fuel tank and a new&nbsp;seat, both of which will offer&nbsp;more grip and support to the rider.&nbsp;

Last but not least, the 2021 RSV4 has received a thorough makeover in terms of design. Inspired by the smaller RS 660, the new RSV4 features a pair of sleek twin LED headlamps, which come with cornering lights. In addition to that, it comes with integrated aero winglets. Not to mention, it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Aprilia will launch the 2021 RSV4 in two variants – standard and Factory. The RSV4 Factory will be equipped with semi-active Ohlins electronic suspension, forged wheels, and Brembo Stylema brake callipers.

The updated Aprilia RSV4 is expected to go on sale in India later this year. Expect it to carry a pricetag of around Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).&nbsp;
