<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/bugatti/">Bugatti</a> has unveiled the last Chiron, appropriately called L'Ultime, as a fitting homage to a bygone era.&nbsp;With the Chiron giving rise to numerous limited editions and one-offs, the journey that started with the Veyron comes to a close on this occasion. The&nbsp;L'Ultime&nbsp;is a customised version of the model&nbsp;with Sur Mesure's unique&nbsp;touch. This marks the end of the vehicle's limited production run of 500 units. The final hypercar to carry the name of the F1&nbsp;driver Louis Chiron was meticulously put together&nbsp;in Molsheim, France.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Based on the Super Sport version, the Bugatti Chiron L'Ultime honours the original Chiron with a livery derived from the car displayed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The two-tone paint treatment on the special edition fades from French Racing Blue to Atlantic Blue. The eight-year heritage of the Chiron is further enhanced by the handwritten names of notable events and venues that have shaped this livery.</p>

<p>The personalised&nbsp;Bugatti macaron logo on the horseshoe grille is highlighted in blue, while the front and rear wheels of the L'Ultime are painted in matching colours to the bodywork. The handwritten number "500" on the body, wheel caps, and rear wing, as well as the engraving on the engine cover, are distinctive elements. The number represents the total units&nbsp;of the vehicle produced.</p>

<p>Furthermore, handwritten names of key locations from the Chiron's development, including Ehra-Lessien (where it reached a speed of 482km/h), Paul Ricard (where it was tested), Geneva (where it made its debut), Chantilly (where it was showcased), Chateau Saint-Jean, and Cape Canaveral (where multiple customers experienced the hypercar's performance)&nbsp;adorn&nbsp;the car's profile.</p>

<h2>New Bugatti Chiron Super Sport ‘L’Ultime’: Mechanical Details</h2>

<p>Mechanically, an 8.0-litre W16 engine with four turbochargers powers the vehicle.&nbsp;The cylinder heads and valvetrain of the Bugatti Super Sport models have been&nbsp;updated, along with improved oiling and a slight increase in redline. The adjustments provide 1,578bhp of maximum power&nbsp;and 1,600Nm&nbsp;of peak&nbsp;torque. Updates have also been made to the car's seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox for faster shifts and increased power output.&nbsp;This&nbsp;same engine has allowed the car&nbsp;to achieve astounding 490km/h speed records.</p>

<p>Monterey Car Week 2023: A special edition of the&nbsp;Bugatti Chiron Super Sport called the&nbsp;Golden Era has made its public debut at the event. With hand-drawn illustrations, this one-off creation artistically narrates the history of Bugatti. The legendary Type 41 Royale and the Type 57 SC Atlantic are part of the 26 hand-drawn sketches on the passenger side. On the other hand, the EB110, Veyron, Chiron, and others are among the 19 sketches on the driver's side. According to the brand, these details have been made to survive the test of time using modern procedures and techniques.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The team spent over 400 hours creating each drawing, according to Bugatti. The artwork features 45 different vintage Bugatti cars in all. Now that the model has made its official premiere at the Monterey Car Week and will make its way from there to the residence of its wealthy owner, let's learn more about its other features.</p>

<h2>Bugatti Chiron Super Sport Golden Era: Powertrain</h2>

<p>The Golden Era is based on the Chiron Super Sport and is driven by a massive 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine with 1,500bhp and 1,600Nm of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is mated to the engine. Moreover, the hypercar has a top speed of 380 kilometre per hour.</p>

<h2>Bugatti Chiron Super Sport Golden Era: Exterior</h2>

<p>According to the company, &nbsp;the Golden Era model took over a two-year period to complete with 400 hours spent on the artwork visible on either side of the car.&nbsp;Designers used special pens for the body artwork and drew a total of 45 exquisite hand-drawn designs. The driver's side features 19 sketches, while the passenger side has 26 unique drawings. Additionally, the car's exterior features a unique "Dore" gold paint job mixed with the metallic variation of "Nocturne Black.".</p>

<p>Similar to the exterior, the cabin also features elaborate artwork. Three icons of Bugatti—the EB110, Veyron, and Chiron on one side, and the Type 35, the Type 57 SC Atlantic, and the Type 41 Royale on the other—are hand-painted on each door panel.&nbsp;Besides this, there is a 'One-of-One' badge on the centre console and "Golden Era" stitching on the headrests and the bottom of the rear wing.&nbsp;The names of Bugatti's active periods are also scribbled on the side sills of the vehicle, giving it a more unique appearance.</p>
