Pricing for the eMAX 7 Premium ranges from Rs 26.90 lakh to Rs 27.50 lakh for the six-&nbsp;and seven-seater&nbsp;configurations, respectively. On the other hand, the eMAX 7 Superior is priced at Rs 29.30 lakh for the six-seater and Rs 29.90 lakh&nbsp;for the seven-seater model. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures.&nbsp;

The BYD e6 featured a single 71.7kWh battery, which offered a range of 520 km on a single&nbsp;charge. However, the EV&nbsp;only produced 94bhp and 180Nm of peak torque from its electric motor. In comparison, the eMAX 7 MPV has&nbsp;two battery options: a 71.8kWh pack and a smaller 55.5kWh unit. The eMAX 7 will sport significant modifications to the fascia and rear end, but it will still have the same basic profile and dimensions as the outgoing e6. New LED headlamps will flank an enclosed grille, and the MPV's bumper will be reworked to give it a more angular appearance. Meanwhile, the rear end will also have a fresh bumper, updated badging, and a noticeable overhaul of the taillamps.

Inside the cabin, the primary modification comes in the form of&nbsp;a larger 12.8-inch floating touchscreen, up from 10.1-inch&nbsp;in the current model.&nbsp;The dashboard is largely unchanged in all other respects. Several features like two wireless charging pads, updated switchgear, and a drive selector lever are among the&nbsp;minor additions&nbsp;to the centre console. The eMAX 7 EV&nbsp;also receives a new steering wheel, but the instrument cluster's analogue dials remain.

<h2>BYD eMAX 7: Mechanical Configuration and Expected Price</h2>

The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/byd/e6/">BYD e6</a> is available with two different battery&nbsp;pack configurations in Indonesia: a 55.4kWh unit with a stated range of 420 km and a 71.8kWh one with a range of 530 km.&nbsp;With the smaller battery, the model&nbsp;generates 163bhp of maximum power, and with the larger battery, 204bhp. Both versions have a torque rating of 310Nm.&nbsp;This&nbsp;marks a&nbsp;substantial improvement compared to the current generation model's output of&nbsp;95bhp&nbsp;and 180Nm.

In India, the carmaker&nbsp;currently provides the 71.8kWh battery for the e6, so that won't change. Notably,&nbsp;this larger battery has an 8 km increase in the claimed range. Whether or not the smaller battery pack will be available&nbsp;in India&nbsp;is still not confirmed.

When it comes to price, it is anticipated that the BYD eMax7 will cost more than the existing e6 model, which retails for Rs 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom). Being an electric MPV, the&nbsp;eMax7 will have&nbsp;no direct rivals in the Indian market upon launch.

BYD e6 Facelift to be Called eMAX 7 in India; Officially Teased Ahead of Launch

The BYD e6 Facelift&nbsp;–&nbsp;showcased as the M6 at the Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in July 2024 –&nbsp;is set to be launched in India soon. While the launch date is under wraps, we expect it to arrive in September. We won't be surprised if the updated BYD e6 gets the M6 moniker upon launch.&nbsp;

To give you a brief background, the e6 is the Chinese company's first MPV model for India. Launched initially as a commercial vehicle in 2021, the BYD e6 is an all-electric vehicle also available to private buyers. It&nbsp;is currently priced at Rs 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom, India), while the upcoming e6 will most likely command a premium over the outgoing version. The existing BYD e6 comes with&nbsp;a 71.8kWh blade battery, which is expected to see duty in the new e6. However, the claimed range will be more than before. With the same 71.8kWh battery paired with&nbsp;a&nbsp;front-axle mounted electric motor, the Indonesia-spec e6 produces 204bhp and 310Nm of peak torque, while the range is rated at&nbsp;530km (NEDC).&nbsp;

But, that option can be had upon purchase of the global-spec model. It remains to be seen whether BYD India will equip the facelifted e6 with the smaller battery pack.&nbsp;

<h2>BYD e6 Facelift: Exterior</h2>

As part of mid-life updates, the new BYD e6 will likely retain the same silhouette&nbsp;but get sleeker LED headlamps connected by a chrome strip with a BYD logo in the centre. The LED DRL signatures should be sharper like that of the global-spec model, while the front bumper is expected to feature larger air dams.

Speaking of the BYD M6, the car has dual-tone alloys along the sides. The rear fascia is marked out by new&nbsp;wraparound taillamps with revised internals, along with a reworked bumper with new chrome inserts. The model comes in the following exterior colours: Harbour Grey, Crystal White, Cosmos Black, and Quartz Blue.&nbsp;

<h2>BYD e6 Facelift: Interior, Features</h2>

On the inside, the e6 facelift should mimic the global-spec e6. The latter offers a big,&nbsp;12.8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system (versus the&nbsp;10.1-inch unit currently being offered in India). The steering wheel is new but houses analogue dials for the digital instrument cluster. The lower centre console has been redesigned too, now featuring two wireless charging pads as well as the updated gear lever and&nbsp;drive mode selector lever.

Other features include&nbsp;a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry,&nbsp;automatic climate control, cruise control,&nbsp;ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS tech.&nbsp;While the India-spec e6 is currently offered in a 5-seat configuration, the M6 comes in both 6- and 7-seat layouts.&nbsp;

The upcoming BYD e6 will have no direct rivals upon arrival,&nbsp;but it&nbsp;will serve as an alternative to the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/toyota/innova-hycross/">Toyota Innova Hycross</a>.

The BYD e6 is the future I fear. It’s a future in which the car is an appliance on wheels – a white good for the road. It’s perfectly usable transport, but it’s got about as much character as your dishwasher.

Now, with that purely subjective perspective out of the way, let’s talk facts. BYD, or Build Your Dreams, is a global leader in electric vehicles. It’s so good at what it does that Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway owns almost 20% of the Chinese automaker. The e6 was launched last year in India purely for the commercial and fleet market, and then earlier this year it was made available to individual customers as well.

Its 71.7kWh battery pack generates 95 horsepower and 180Nm and gives it a claimed range of 523 kilometres. It’s spacious, drives reasonably well and looks fairly modern as well. It would be nice, however, if BYD would add some pizzazz to the cabin – something to make it look and feel a bit special. After all, it will set you back almost ₹30 lakhs, ex-showroom.

That said, it’s quite comfortable and, with the amount of space it offers and the range it claims, it’s quite practical too – all of which is to say that it’s actually rather well suited to the commercial and fleet market. The truth is, if you want a zero-emissions vehicle to ferry people around comfortably and hold plenty of their stuff, this is it. But if you’re looking for something that will set your pulse racing, you’re looking in the wrong place.

This is a car for those who seek efficient and comfortable transport, no more and no less. If you want to maintain your resting heart rate and get from point A to B in a clean and quiet way, the BYD e6 is what you’re looking for. If you want any more than that, look elsewhere.

BYD India is all set to launch its second product, the Atto 3 electric SUV. So, what does it offer? And can it be a force to be reckoned with in its segment?

BYD (Build Your Dreams) seems to be on an all-out offensive to expand its footprint in India. Shortly after opening a slew of passenger vehicle dealerships in some key cities, the Chinese brand has&nbsp;now announced the upcoming launch of its second product, the Atto 3 electric SUV. BYD has confirmed the car's launch for October 11. This will be its second product in India, after the e6 MPV. Now, while the Atto 3 may be new for India, the SUV is already on sale in some international markets. So, here's a look at what you can expect from it in India:

Powertrain / Performance

The Atto 3 is built on an&nbsp;all-new BYD e-Platform 3.0 that consists of&nbsp;the brand's signature LFP BladeBattery (60.48kWh). The battery powers a single 201bhp / 310Nm PMSM that sends power to the front wheels only. With these performance figures, the Atto 3 has a claimed top speed of 160km/h, with a 0 – 100km/h time of 7.3 seconds.

Size / Dimensions

At 4,455mm in length, the Atto 3 offers a wheelbase of&nbsp;2,720mm. This makes it considerably bigger than its rivals like the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona. To give you a better idea, the Atto 3 is nearly as long as the Hyundai Alcazar. The Atto 3 offers 175mm of ground clearance and a 555-litre boot.

Charging &amp; Range&nbsp;

The Atto 3 has a WLTP-certified driving range of 420kms on a single charge. Capable of up to 88kW DC fast charging, the Atto 3 can be charged from 30 – 80% in just 29 minutes.

Launch / Deliveries

Post its 11th October launch, expect the Atto 3 deliveries in India to begin towards the end of this&nbsp;year. We expect its pricing to be around the ₹30 lakh mark (ex-showroom).

BYD (Build Your Dreams) India Private Limited, a subsidiary of the BYD Company, has formally&nbsp;inaugurated its first dealership for&nbsp;passenger vehicles in Ernakulam, Kochi. EVM Southcoast is the appointed dealer for it. The facility was inaugurated by Sabu Johny (MD – EVM Group) in the presence of senior officials of BYD India and EVM Southcoast. The dealership&nbsp;is spread over an area of 2,500 sq. ft. and offers&nbsp;a customer lounge area, EV charging stations, and&nbsp;a service centre.

Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Sanjay Gopalakrishnan (Senior VP&nbsp;–&nbsp;Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India)&nbsp;said, 'Starting from Kochi, we are getting closer to our target customers and are delighted to inaugurate our first showroom in the country with EVM Southcoast. We hope that our customised products and service will spur and accelerate green initiatives in the region.'

In November 2021, BYD India launched the e6,&nbsp;its five-seater electric MPV, at&nbsp;₹29.15 lakh (ex-showroom). While it was available only for commercial sales at the time of its launch, the car is&nbsp;now available to private customers as well, thanks to the launch of the PV dealership.

The e6 is based on BYD's&nbsp;e-Platform and is powered by a&nbsp;71.7kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery. The battery sends 94bhp and 180Nm of torque to the front wheels via a single motor setup. The e6 offers a claimed driving range of 415km (combined) and 520km in the city, as per the&nbsp;Worldwide harmonised Light vehicles Test Cycles (WLTC).&nbsp;The MPV also supports DC fast charging, which allows it to be charged from 30 to 80% in just 35 minutes.
