<p>Under the hood, the Celerio&nbsp;is driven by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder,&nbsp;K10C DualJet petrol engine that delivers 65.7bhp of maximum power&nbsp;and 89Nm of peak&nbsp;torque. A CNG variant is also available, producing 56bhp and 82.1Nm of torque in CNG mode. The engine is paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or an AMT. The former version offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 25.24km/l, while the latter delivers&nbsp;26.68km/l. The CNG option, meanwhile, delivers 34.43km/kg.</p>

<p>In December, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 1,37,551 vehicles, which is a 1.28% decrease year-on-year compared to 1,39,347 units delivered at the same time last year. It further reported monthly sales of 1,04,778 passenger cars, showing a 6.45% YoY drop from the 1,12,010 PVs delivered during the corresponding period last year.&nbsp;In addition, the company's overall domestic sales, which include third-party suppliers, commercial vehicles, and passenger cars, decreased by 5.86% to 1,10,667 units last month from 1,17,551 units sold&nbsp;in the same period the previous year.&nbsp;Moreover, in calendar year 2023, the company achieved its first-ever annual sales milestone of 2 million units, which comprised its highest-ever calendar year international shipments of 2,69,046 vehicles.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Maruti Suzuki Sales: Segment-wise December Sales Breakdown&nbsp;</h2>

<p>The sales at the Indo-Japanese company fell across all sub-segments. This includes a compact sector (Alto, S-Presso models) that saw an almost 74% YoY decline from 9765 units to 2,557 units in December, as well as a mid-size category (Ciaz) that saw a 57.6% drop from 1,154 cars to 489 units last month. It also includes a lineup of compact vehicles, including the Baleno, the Celerio, the Dzire, the Ignis, the Swift, the Tour S, and the Wagon R, with total sales of 45,741 units in December 2023, showing a 20.5% YoY decrease from 57,502 units sold in 2022.</p>

<p>Between April and December of FY 2023–24, the automaker delivered 15,51,292 units, which is more than 1 lakh vehicles than&nbsp;the same time prior fiscal year. Maruti Suzuki's exports&nbsp;increased last month, going from 21,796 units shipped in December 2022 to 26,884 units in December 2023. In total, the company exported 2,69,046 units in CY 2023.</p>


Maruti Suzuki Total Sales Decline 1.28% in December, Sells 1.38 Lakh Units

Maruti Suzuki has disclosed its sales number for the last month. The automaker sold a total of 45,957 utility vehicles in December, which is an increase from 33,008 units delivered in the same period last year.

<p>The LXi and VXi variants of the petrol-powered WagonR MT are available with discounts of up to Rs 61,000. It comprises a cash discount of Rs. 35,000, an exchange bonus of Rs. 20,000, and a corporate discount of Rs. 6,000. Further, the ZXi and ZXi+, &nbsp;come with benefits of up to Rs 56,000. The automatic fuel WagonR receives no cash discounts this month. But, it has received Rs. 6,000 in corporate discount, as well as, Rs. 20,000 in exchange bonus. Additionally, offers worth Rs 53,100 are accessible on the WagonR's CNG LXi and VXi models, including a Rs 31,000 cash discount.</p>

<p>A cash discount of Rs&nbsp;35,000, a corporate discount of Rs&nbsp;7,000, and an exchange bonus of Rs 15,000 are provided by the carmaker on the Petrol MT STD, LXi, VXi, and VXi+ variants of the Alto K10. No monetary discounts are given to the Automatic VXi and VXi+ versions. But, these models get the same exchange (Rs 15,000) and the corporate (Rs 7,000) offers, which makes a total discount of Rs 22,000 for all models. Aside from this, a&nbsp;total offer worth Rs 48,000 is available for the CNG-based Alto K10 VXi model.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Maruti Suzki S-Presso&nbsp;</h2>

<p>The Maruti Suzki S-Presso Manual gets a total discount of Rs 56,000 in our market this month. It consists of a cash discount worth Rs. 35,000, a corporate discount of Rs. 6,000, and an exchange incentive of Rs. 15,000. On the other side, the CNG-based S-Presso comes with a discount of Rs 53,000, and the petrol automatic S-Presso gets an offer worth Rs 21,000.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Maruti Suzuki Swift&nbsp;</h2>

<p>The Maruti Suzuki Swift Petrol LXi MT has a discount of Rs 47,000. And, the VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+ variants are accessible at an offer of Rs 52,000. Further, the firm provides discounts of up to Rs 52,000 on the automatic petrol VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+ models. The Celerio's CNG version, on the other hand, is eligible for cash discounts of Rs&nbsp;25,000, corporate discounts of Rs&nbsp;3,100, and exchange bonuses of Rs&nbsp;15,000.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Maruti Suzuki Eeco</h2>

<p>Maruti Suzuki provides total discounts worth Rs 39,000 on the petrol-powered Eeco with a 5-seat and 7-seat configuration as standard along with AC trims with a 5-seat layout. The total offers include a Rs 10,000 exchange bonus, Rs 25,000 cash discount, and a Rs 4,000 corporate discount. Also, the CNG-based AC trim with a 5-seat configuration has received a corporate offer of Rs 3,100, a cash discount of Rs 20,000, and an exchange bonus of Rs 10,000.</p>

<h2>Maruti Suzuki Alto 800</h2>

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/">Maruti Suzuki</a> recently confirmed that it is recalling more than 9,000 units of its three models, namely-Wagon R, Ignis, and Celerio. The decision has been taken by the firm to fix a potential defect in the rear brake assembly pin. The impacted vehicles were manufactured between August 3 and September 1 this year.</p>

<p>Maruti Suzuki stated in a regulatory filing with the BSE, 'It is suspected that there is a possible defect in the rear brake assembly pin ('Part'), which, in a certain case, may break and cause a peculiar noise. There may be a possibility of an impact on brake performance in the long run.'</p>

<p>The firm has made the decision to recall the vehicles as a preventative measure in order to check and replace the defective component. According to the company, any damaged parts will be replaced at no cost. It&nbsp;further added,&nbsp;"necessary repair, if required, will be undertaken post-inspection."&nbsp;Also, the&nbsp;authorised workshops will contact consumers to attend to their vehicles.</p>
