EICMA 2024: Japanese manufacturer&nbsp;Honda has showcased an&nbsp;electric scooter at EICMA 2024, along with&nbsp;two electric motorcycle concepts. In parallel with these, the Japanese company has unveiled&nbsp;the ICE (internal combustion engine) 
Concept – a&nbsp;liquid-cooled 75-degree V3 engine with an electric compressor. The engine layout of the 'world's first V3' – with two&nbsp;cylinders&nbsp;at the front and a single cylinder at the rear&nbsp;– is an interesting characteristic that sets it apart. Honda has yet to disclose the displacement of the V3&nbsp;but says that the engine&nbsp;will be available in the upcoming 'medium-high displacement' motorcycles.&nbsp;

Two years after it displayed its&nbsp;EM1 e: electric moped at EICMA 2022, Honda brought out its electric scooter,&nbsp;the CUV e:. CUV in the name stands for&nbsp;Clean Urban Vehicle. The electric scooter gets two interchangeable battery packs and offers a claimed range of over 70km on a single charge. With the CUV e:, owners can opt for either a&nbsp;5.0-inch or a 7.0-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity. The vehicle also gets&nbsp;3&nbsp;ride&nbsp;modes,&nbsp;reverse assist, LED lighting, and a&nbsp;USB-C socket.

Royal Enfield has also increased the price of their latest offering, the Super Meteor 650, in India by Rs 5,000 across all variants. <h2>Royal Enfield April 2023 Sales</h2>

As compared to the 62,155 bikes it sold in the same month a year ago, the bikemaker&nbsp;sold 73,136 units last month, a rise of 18%. It delivered 68,881 units domestically last month, up from 53,852 units in April 2022, a 28% increase. However, the company&nbsp;reported a decline in overseas sales. In April 2023, it sent out 4,255 units around the globe, down from 8,303 units the year before. Although it has not been officially confirmed, industry sources have indicated that the Super Meteor 650 was a factor in the company's year-over-year sales increase last month.&nbsp;

Royal Enfield Confirms Electric Motorcycle in Development with Stark Future

Royal Enfield is currently working on many platforms, one of which will be used to introduce an all-electric motorcycle sometime next year. Royal Enfield also intends to develop and manufacture its own line of batteries and motors.

Royal Enfield reportedly has plans to launch an electric bike in India by 2024. The leading two-wheeler manufacturer's shift to EV comes as no surprise, considering the rising popularity of electric mobility among buyers. In its EV project, Royal Enfield will likely invest more than USD 100 – 150 million. The company has started working on a dedicated platform with the internal codename ‘L’. Reportedly, there will be several body types under the L-platform, known as L1A, L1B, and L1C. The new platform is expected to be completed in 12 months. Although there is no official confirmation, according to industry speculations, the motorcycle manufacturer has hired Umesh Krishnappa, the former CTO of Ola Electric, to carry out the production plan for the EV. Also, a special team for the EV business has been established in India and the UK.
