The Enyaq RS iV SUV, Skoda's second all-electric sporting model, has officially set two world ice drift records.&nbsp;The records for the 'Longest Continuous Vehicle Drift on Ice' and the 'Longest Continuous Vehicle Drift on Ice (electric car)' have been verified by Guinness&nbsp;World&nbsp;Records. They were set by motoring journalist Richard Meaden on a circular track measuring 188.496 m in circumference on the frozen Stortjärnen lake near stersund, Sweden on Thursday 19 January 2023.&nbsp;Skoda's pre-facelift, diesel-powered Kodiaq RS still holds the record for the fastest seven-seat SUV around the Nürburgring. Last month, the Czech automaker, which is part of the Volkswagen Group, travelled to Sweden to attempt to set a different type of record with another of its many SUVs. The fully electric Enyaq RS was put through its paces on a frozen lake in an attempt to break the record for the longest continuous drift on ice.

Richard Meaden got behind the wheel of Skoda's first electric SUV and drove it sideways for 7.35 kilometres. The tail-wagging adventure on a circle with a diameter of 60 metres took 15 minutes and 58 seconds to finish, covering the icy circle 39 times. At one point, <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/all-new-skoda-enyaq-iv-suv-spied-ahead-of-india-launch-heres-what-to-expect-112131/">the Enyaq</a> RS attained a top speed of 48.67km/h, while the lowest velocity was 31.64km/h.&nbsp;Since Guinness has separate categories for "Longest Continuous Vehicle Drift on Ice" and "Longest Continuous Vehicle Drift on Ice (electric car)," Skoda notes that its Enyaq RS actually ended up setting two records. The five days before the record-breaking run included no less than 18 hours of drifting.

The Enyaq RS iV produces 460Nm of peak torque with instantaneous acceleration and potent performance with one on each axle. The car can be fast-charged at 135kW, which translates to an 80% charge in as little as 36 minutes.

After setting a new Guinness World Record in 2011 at the Bonneville Salt Flats for its top speed run, Skoda has done it again, this time for the "Longest Continuous Vehicle Drift on Ice."
