Maruti Suzuki's first electric model, the eVX, has been seen undergoing testing in India ahead of its official launch.&nbsp;The new test mule reveals a slew of features, including projector headlamps, modified front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels,&nbsp;LED taillights, rear door handles positioned on the C-pillar, and a shark fin antenna. The most recent spy photos of the EV offer a decent glimpse into the eVX's cabin, which stands out from the company's other models. The EV appears to include a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, an auto-dimming IRVM, a rotary dial for drive modes, and a new freestanding touchscreen infotainment system.&nbsp;

Although there is no word from the Indo-Japanese firm, market reports indicate that the&nbsp;eVX will go on sale sometime next year.&nbsp;For those unaware, the electric car made its debut as a <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/auto-expo-2023-all-new-maruti-suzuki-concept-electric-evx-suv-unveiled-in-india-112155/">concept at the 2023 Auto Expo</a> and a production-ready model at the Tokyo Motor Show in the previous year.

<h2>Maruti Suzuki&nbsp;eVX: Mechanical Specifics</h2>

Maruti Suzuki is yet to reveal the mechanical specifications of its first all-electric vehicle. Market reports, however,&nbsp;indicate that the e-car will come with a choice between a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) system and a single-motor FWD system. It is expected to offer 45kWh and 60kWh battery options, with a range of about 550 kilometres&nbsp;on a single charge. According to <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/industry-news/">industry reports</a>, the upcoming&nbsp;Maruti Suzuki&nbsp;eVX will be built on Toyota's 27PL platform, based on the born-electric YY8 skateboard-style chassis.

Features-wise, the eVX is likely to have a panoramic sunroof, touch-based controls for the AC vents, adjustable power seats, a rotary drive mode selector, a multifunction steering wheel, a rearview mirror, a 360-degree camera, multiple airbags, and horizontally positioned air conditioning vents.&nbsp;The electrified SUV is expected to be around 4,300mm in length, 1,800mm in width, and 1,600mm in height and have a wheelbase of 2,700mm.&nbsp;

<h2>Maruti Suzuki&nbsp;eVX: Expected Price</h2>

The expected cost for the eVX in India ranges&nbsp;between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).&nbsp;As for rivals, the model will compete with the&nbsp;Mahindra XUV400, the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/tata-nexonev-facelift-launched-at-rs-1474-lakh-in-india-with-465km-claimed-range-114597/">Tata Nexon EV</a>, and several upcoming electric vehicles, including&nbsp;the <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/hyundai-creta-ev-spotted-testing-ahead-of-india-launch-shows-aero-wheels-connected-led-taillamps-and-more-116668/">Hyundai Creta EV</a>, the <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/industry-news/honda-elevate-city-and-more-attract-discounts-of-up-to-rs-83000-in-april-116717/">Honda Elevate EV</a>, and the Mahindra BE.05 in India.&nbsp;

Maruti Suzuki eVX Spotted Testing Yet Again in India Ahead of Launch, Shows Two-spoke Steering Wheel Design

The brand-new Maruti Suzuki eVX will lock horns with several upcoming electric vehicles, such as the Hyundai Creta EV, the Honda Elevate EV, and the Mahindra BE.05 in India.

Auto Expo 2023: Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the all-new concept electric SUV, eVX in India. The global unveiling of an all-electric SUV concept at the Auto Expo 2023 by the manufacturer is one of the show-stoppers and the first sign of the company's EV aspirations for the Indian market. India's largest manufacturer is yet to produce an EV and has been significantly slow in India's fast-growing electric car market, where Tata Motors has captured 84 percent of the market share in less than four years. The EV concept that Maruti Suzuki has unveiled at the Expo is significant since it will preview the Japanese automaker's first all-electric car. This model will be launched in January-February 2025, marking the beginning of the firm's EV journey. This EV, like the Futuro-e in 2020 and the Future-S in 2018, will be Maruti Suzuki's hero concept for 2023.

<a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/cars-discontinued-in-2022-hyundai-santro-maruti-suzuki-s-cross-and-more-112100/">Maruti Suzuki's</a> new electric SUV would be over 4.2 metres long and have a wheelbase length of 2.7 metres. As a result, it will be substantially larger in size than the Tata Nexon EV, India's current best-selling electric vehicle. The MG ZS EV is marginally longer, but its wheelbase is much shorter than that of the concept Electric SUV eVX. The inside space is intended to be particularly spacious because of the longer wheelbase and the lack of an engine and transmission. The Concept eVX, designed and developed by Suzuki Motor Corporation, is built on an all-electric platform that will serve as the foundation for a variety of future EVs.

The concept Electric SUV eVX is powered by a 60kWh battery pack. The maximum driving range of the EV is claimed to be 550 kilometres.

Commenting on the global premiere of Concept Electric SUV eVX, Mr. Toshihiro Suzuki, Representative Director and President, <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/maruti-suzuki-baleno-coupe-suv-spied-before-india-launch-gets-a-floating-touchscreen-infotainment-system-and-more-features-112113/">Suzuki Motor Corporation</a>, said, “Today, I have an exciting announcement. I am delighted to unveil the Concept eVX, our first global strategic EV. We plan to bring it to market by 2025. At the Suzuki Group, addressing global warming is a priority. We are promoting a range of global measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated from our business. One key measure is reducing CO2 emitted by using our products. Here in India, as announced in March last year, we will invest 100 billion rupees in the production of BEVs and their batteries.”
