Quartararo explained: 'It was basically a very tough race, especially on the physical side. I had an issue with my arm, I could not really ride well on the last ten laps. It's not arm pump, it's just that my arm is on the limit when we're riding at this type of track. It's unfortunate that we couldn't be fast. We had expected more from this Race. We struggle when the grip is low. Hopefully we can find a solution to make the bike easier to ride. We have some things planned for tomorrow's test to combat one of our weaker points. If it helps here, I think, it will also help with the physicality of riding.'

I'm pretty happy with how the Race went, apart from the mistake we made at the end. But I still think we can be happy about our Race. Seeing the fans always supporting me, we had to give everything we had.'

By lap 12, he had passed Augusto Fernandez and was in thirteenth place. After closing the deficit behind Jack Miller by more than three seconds on the last lap, Quartararo finished twelfth, 22.899 seconds behind the winner.

After testing the 2024 Yamaha Bike, Fabio Quartararo said, "I think we got some positives today, but we still have to change many things. There were some big changes, especially on the aero side. But I think that the direction we took was the right one. We made a few steps, and hopefully, at Sepang, we can be at our 100%. Today, I was also feeling okay. I have to keep going with the antibiotics for a few days, but today was much better."

Alex Rins said: "It was my first day with the Yamaha team, and I’m so happy because it was a really good day. We tested many things: small things regarding set-up. We only worked on the aerodynamics. I’m quite happy because I adapted quite well to the bike so early on. The last hours, from midday to the end of the session, we were trying fairings, and they made a step forward compared to the fairing I used in the morning, which was the race fairing."

Yamaha team Team Director Massimo Meregalli said: "It was a long season, but today was an important day for our team. The wind wasn’t ideal, but we used the seven-hour session well. We mainly worked on three different items with Fabio today: aerodynamics - which was our priority, the first step of the 2024 engine, and a new chassis. Álex adapted so quickly to the bike that he too had the opportunity to test the new fairings.&nbsp;

“One day was maybe not enough to get everything set up perfectly because we had so many things to try, but all in all it’s been a positive day. Both riders noticed an improvement, and this confirms our course of action has been the right one. This test had good value, so we can now enjoy the winter break satisfied with the work we’ve done. We will send all the data to Yamaha Motor Company in Japan and Yamaha Motor Racing in Italy, where the Yamaha engineers will work tirelessly to prepare the next steps for the tests in Sepang," Meregalli added.

After looking like he was going to contend for third, six-time MotoGP champion Marc Marquez crashed his Honda, into turn one&nbsp;of the fifth lap&nbsp;and ended up in ninth place. Bagnaia, who was seemingly cruising in second position, lost his footing on turn five, enabling Martin to come up to second and cut the deficit to 13 points, while Bezzecchi remains 44 points behind the leader.&nbsp;

When asked if he liked the Buddh International Track, he replied, "Well, the track I liked a lot. But to be honest, I don't know, I focused on braking because this track was tough for it. It was a difficult condition to stop the bike. The front lock was a lot. I focused a lot on braking because normally, Peco on the last period, makes the difference on that part of the track, of every track, sorry. Friday, I made a lot of mistakes. I went straight or wide many times but was just to find the limit. Once I found it, I was able to move it a little bit forward. This gave me the possibility to be very fast. Saturday, I felt already amazing with the bike. Then I started to see that I was making a bit more difference compared to the other riders. Today, it wasn't easy. I'm very happy."

<h2>MotoGP Bharat GP: Fabio Quartararo Comes 3rd at Buddh International Circuit</h2>

Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo finished third in the MotoGP Bharat GP race despite the extreme heat and humidity, just 0.206 seconds behind the runner-up. Quartararo got off to a great start, manoeuvring his way up to sixth place in the starting laps. At one point, he even took fourth place in the competition before settling for fifth. Later when Francesco Bagnaia crashed, the Frenchman took advantage of the situation and moved into third place.

On the final lap, Fabio Quartararo nearly passed Jorge Martin, who was suffering from race suit malfunctions and the intense heat. Even though Quartararo lost the fight, he finished third, 8.855 seconds behind the winner.

MotoGP Bharat GP: Marco Bezzecchi Says 'I Liked the Track a Lot' After Winning the First-ever Indian GP at BIC

Marco Bezzecchi was victorious in the inaugural Indian Grand Prix, and in the subsequent post-race interview, he expressed his likeness for the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) to the media.

VR46's Marco Bezzecchi has won the first-ever Indian MotoGP.&nbsp;Francesco Bagnaia's massive error moves Jorge Martin closer to the championship lead. Bagnaia and Martin went toe-to-toe throughout the opening half of the race, as Bezzecchi faded into the distance. After appearing to have beaten the Pramac rider on the entry to turn 5, the reigning champion crashed. With Bagnaia out of the way, Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo was able to take home his second podium of the year. The Frenchman came close to taking second from a weary Martin as the latter went wide on the penultimate lap. The Spaniard quickly rallied, retaking second place from Quartararo by the narrowest of margins before skipping Parc Ferme to ask for water from his pit box. Brad Binder of KTM finished in fifth place, with Joan Mir of Honda in sixth, his highest finish of the season.&nbsp;

<h2>MotoGP Bharat GP: Grand Prix of India Race Result</h2>

Behind the trio of Ducatis, Marc Marquez was running in fourth place when he lost control on the brakes and went down at Turn 1. Marquez rejoined in 16th place and moved up to ninth. Espargaro had to return to the pits at the halfway point due to a technical issue, joining Augusto Fernandez along with Fabio di Giannantonio.

Both Alex Marquez and Luca Marini suffered fractures on Saturday, ruling them out of today's race. In qualifying for the Sprint race, Alex Marquez injured three ribs, and Marini shattered his left collarbone after he collided with teammate Marco Bezzecchi on Turn 1. Both of them won't be able to make it to the Japanese Grand Prix this coming weekend, either.

<h2>MotoGP Bharat GP: Honda’s Joan Mir Finish 5th</h2>

Joan Mir had a strong weekend finish, moving up to 5 place overall. He also left the queue with the first bunch. He maintained a steady pace throughout the race and finished fifth, his best finish of the year. Mir now has 11 points heading into the Japanese Grand Prix, which Honda will be hosting.

Márquez continued his strong Sunday performance and moved up to the front of the pack during the start of the race. On lap six of the race, though, he was involved in a minor crash that dropped him many places in the standings. The Repsol Honda Team rider re-entered the race in 16th place but made up significant ground to finish ninth.

MotoGP Bharat GP: VR46's Marco Bezzecchi Wins Inaugural Indian GP at BIC; Martin, Quartararo Complete Podium

Mooney VR46 rider Marco Bezzecchi created history when he won the first Grand Prix of India at Greater Noida's Buddh International Circuit. Jorge Martin of Ducati finished in second, just edging out Fabio Quartararo of Yamaha for the podium.

At the first ever Indian MotoGP, Fabio Quartararo overcame a disastrous first practice to advance directly to Qualifying 2. In the extra 70-minute morning practice, the Frenchman only completed 9 laps and finished 19th because both of his Yamaha M1s developed gearbox problems on the straight. Yamaha technicians were able to resolve the problem. In the final stages of Practice 2, Quartararo was in second place after making up for lost time with 29 laps. He had been worried about the long straights leading up to the event. Quartararo finished eighth, only half a second behind leader Luca Marini of VR46 Ducati, despite the yellow flags that plagued the final minutes.

<h2>MotoGP Bharat GP: Yamaha’s Friday Session</h2>

India's Buddh circuit has one of the longest straights in the world championship. As a result, not many people would have predicted that Fabio Quartararo would enter the Q2 by the end of Friday. Still, Quartararo did manage to do enough to advance through the session, finishing the day in eighth place on his Yamaha.&nbsp;

Here's what Fabio Quartararo said after the Friday session, " It was difficult because I think I had nine laps in the morning and I could not really learn the track. To be honest, many corners are quite difficult. First to find the breaking reference, turn eight, nine, and find the correct line, 10, 11, 12. Many, many corners were difficult. I said it was going to be super difficult to go into the Q2 and we did it. I'm pretty happy, but in some parts, the layout is quite difficult to learn."

When asked as to what happened to his Yamaha M1 during the FP1 session, Quartararo said, “Gearbox issue, twice. The same problem.”

“We broke two gearboxes in 10 labs. It was a shame that I could not ride it in the morning and later, we went back to the old gearbox," he added.

<h2>MotoGP Bharat GP: What did Yamaha Team Director Massimo Mregalli Think about BIC?</h2>

"We didn’t have the best of starts to the Indian GP,” said Team Director Massimo Mregalli. “We lost a lot of time due to an issue related to transmission. The problem was completely fixed for the afternoon session, but it did mean we had a lot of work to catch up on. Fabio took well to the track and, despite the time we lost, he still managed to secure a spot in Q2. Franky made a good step too, considering the time he had, but in the end, it was not enough for a place in Q2. We will have to work this evening to go over the data we collected in order to prepare setting tweaks for tomorrow’s FP2. We want to make the most of the available track time so our riders feel ready for qualifying and the Sprint. The track conditions will improve every session, and we expect to get stronger as the grip increases, as that plays into our hands."

The team head of the Yamaha MotoGP also highlighted that the delivery of the company's new, improved engine, which was tested in Misano, may take longer than predicted. "There is no different point of view, it was just a matter of communication. That was our mistake because we didn’t inform him of our expectations. What we gained from the Test is what we expected. The engine was quite a new one with a different character. I was satisfied because we didn’t have any issues, and basically, we confirmed what the expectations were, knowing we were already working on two different specs. One will be in Valencia, and the other one in Malaysia.”
