Ferrari has unwrapped the eagerly awaited 296 Challenge, which will make its debut&nbsp;on October 23. Following this reveal, the high-performance car will make its first public appearance at the Mugello Circuit from October 24-30. As the ninth iteration of Ferrari's Challenge Trofeo Pirelli lineup, the 296 Challenge takes its place among the company's historic forebears with pride. In the coming year, this exciting new track-only vehicle will also make its debut in the North American and European markets. The Ferrari 296 Challenge introduces numerous new characteristics that set it apart from the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo. It was clearly influenced by the 296 GTB road vehicle and shares&nbsp;many components with the highly regarded 296 GT3 race car.&nbsp;In order to improve track performance, the Challenge version of the 296 GTB has a reworked engine, aerodynamics, and suspension.

<h2>Ferrari 296 Challenge: Design&nbsp;</h2>

The 296 Challenge is a high-performance version of the 296 GTB road car that features numerous upgrades over its predecessor. The car's appearance was rethought to increase its downforce, and it now features a larger front splitter, a larger rear wing, and other parts specifically designed to maximise downforce. The vehicle's geometry is drastically altered to improve its handling, with the wheels now sitting lower in the wheel wells and the negative camber being increased.&nbsp;

<h2>Ferrari 296 Challenge: Engine</h2>

The 296 Challenge's upgraded V6 engine stands out, as it lacks the hybrid system of the 296 GTB road car. The 296 GTB is powered by a 654bhp, 2.9-litre twin-turbo V-6 engine and a 164bhp electric motor. The 296 Challenge, however, follows in the footsteps of the 296 GT3 car and ditches the hybrid system in favour of the traditional V-6 engine. Changes to the V-6 enable it to provide 690bhp, compensating for the loss of the electric motor.

Ferrari has improved braking performance for better stopping power on the track by installing the ABS EVO Track system. Brembo's new CCM-R PLUS brake discs are another nice touch for the 296 Challenge. Tyre manufacturer Pirelli developed unique 19-inch tyres for this high-performance track machine.

Between October 24 and 30, Ferrari will host its Finali Mondiali event at the Mugello racetrack, where the company plans to unveil the new 296 Challenge.
