With the selection of February 13 as the revealing date for its 2024&nbsp;challenger, Ferrari has become the first Formula 1 team to announce the launch date for their 2024 Formula 1 car. Team&nbsp;principal Frederic Vasseur announced at a Maranello press gathering that Ferrari will unveil the 2024 model, codenamed 676, the day before Valentine's Day, coinciding with the premiere of the SF-23. With hopes that Ferrari's SF-23 would improve upon its initially competitive 2022 predecessor and challenge for the world championship, the Fiorano unveiling this year was much anticipated. Contrary to predictions, Red Bull swept the 2023 season, winning 21 of 22 races (Singapore was the lone exception due to Ferrari's Carlos Sainz). Even though it was the only car to win a Grand Prix (together with the powerful Red Bull RB19), the SF-23 was a letdown in comparison to its predecessor. In comparison to 2022, Ferrari fell to third place in the constructors' standings, a loss of one spot.

Starting on February 21, rather than February 23, the Formula One grid will reunite in Bahrain for collective testing, which is a change from last year. Less than a week before the season opener, this only test will come to a close.

Ferrari has&nbsp;kept&nbsp;the exact details of its 2024 Formula 1 car launch event under wraps. The Italian team is going to change "95% of the components of the car" that came in third place in the constructors' championship, behind Red Bull and Mercedes, according to Team Principal Fred Vasseur.

Vasseur will be in charge of the Prancing Horse for a second year in a row in 2024 after supervising the development of the third car in response to the extensive new rules put in place in 2022. For the fourth year in a row, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will be fielded by Ferrari. Sainz won in Singapore in 2023 and was the only driver not from Red Bull to do it.

In a recent interview, FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem said that he does not see how he could turn down a team like Andretti Autosport because of their partnership with General Motors. Some existing teams have voiced worry that a new team may dilute the prize pool while stressing that entrants should contribute meaningful value to the sport.&nbsp;

Also, problems persist even if a team like Andretti Autosport obtains an FIA licence. To be eligible for entrance and prize money under the Concorde Agreement, they would require Liberty Media's permission to participate.

The latest deadline for prospective F1 teams to submit bids has passed, and sources suggest that the FIA and F1 are now reviewing two offers from Andretti Cadillac and Hitech Grand Prix.

The fact that Ferrari started on the first row and finished on the podium in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix is seen as evidence that the team has made small strides since the beginning of the season.
