Maruti Suzuki remained the best-selling automaker, with four of the top five cars on the list. However, the company saw a 5% dip in sales year-over-year, selling 1.59 lakh units.&nbsp;During the last month, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga remained the best-selling car.&nbsp;It experienced a YoY growth&nbsp;of an astounding 33.90%.&nbsp;Here are the top five best-selling cars in October.</p>

<p>The Maruti Suzuki car comes in four primary variants (LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+)&nbsp;and is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild hybrid technology. It also has a CNG powertrain.&nbsp;The price of the MPV starts at&nbsp;Rs 8.69 lakh and goes up to&nbsp;Rs 13.03 lakh (ex-showroom).</p>

<p>Despite a 14.85% YoY decrease,&nbsp;the new-gen Swift was the second best-selling car during the festive season.&nbsp;The hatch sold 17,539 units last month, compared to 20,598 in October 2023.&nbsp;The Maruti Suzuki hatchback is propelled by a Z-series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol unit&nbsp;that produces 80bhp at 5,700rpm and 112Nm at 4,300rpm.&nbsp;It costs between Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.64&nbsp;lakh (both, ex-showroom).</p>

Hyundai offers three powertrain options for the Creta:&nbsp;a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol,&nbsp;a 1.5-litre diesel, and&nbsp;a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol.&nbsp;The SUV is priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 20.15 lakh (both, ex-showroom).</p>

<h2>Maruti Suzuki Brezza</h2>

With 15,322 units delivered in September,&nbsp;the SUV also had a month-over-month rise.&nbsp;The Brezza has a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 101.5bhp and 137Nm.&nbsp;It retails between Rs 8.34 lakh and Rs 14.14 lakh. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga remained the best-selling car in October 2024. It sold 18,785 units, up 33.90% over the 14,209 units sold in October 2023.

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/">Maruti Suzuki</a> sold&nbsp;1,75,041 units in July 2024, a 3.63% decrease from the previous year's total of 1,81,630 units.&nbsp;Out of this cumulative figure, the company supplied 1,40,354 units domestically, 10,702 units to other OEMs, and 23,985 units internationally.&nbsp;In the passenger vehicle (PV) segment, the total domestic sales for July of this year reached 1,37,463 units,&nbsp;indicating a drop of 9.64% from the previous year's 1,52,126 units.&nbsp;The exports, however, rose by 8.05% to 23,985 units from 22,199 units shipped in July 2023. <h2>Maruti Suzuki July 2024: Mini, Compact and Utility Car Segment</h2>

<p>The Mini segment of the passenger car market,&nbsp;comprising vehicles like the&nbsp;Alto and S-Presso, sold 9,960 units in July 2024, as opposed to 9,590 units in the same month the previous year. The compact category (Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR), on the other hand, sold 58,682 units in the previous month, which is down from the previous year's 67,102 units.&nbsp;With 603 units delivered in July 2024, as compared to 1,348 in July 2023, the Mid-Size segment, represented by Ciaz, also experienced a decline. Moreover, in contrast to 78,040 units sold in the same month last year, the total sales of passenger cars dropped to 69,245 units in July 2024.</p>

<p>With models like the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, and XL6,&nbsp;the utility car segment suffered a drop in sales to 56,302 units last month from 62,049 units sold in July 2023.</p>

<p>Maruti Suzuki reported a net profit of Rs 3,649.90 crore for the April–June quarter of FY 2024–25,&nbsp;up 46.9% from Rs 2,485.1 crore for the same period the previous year.&nbsp;The primary causes of the gain were favourable foreign exchange rates, low commodity costs, and cost-cutting initiatives.&nbsp;The company's net sales for the quarter were noteworthy,&nbsp;coming in at Rs 33,875 crore, a significant rise over the first quarter of FY2023–2024.</p>

The company's entry-level models, the Alto and the S-Presso, continued to reel under stress, with sales plunging to 14,782 units compared to 21,875 units sold in February 2023. Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki's subcompact cars – Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR – were delivered to 71,627 buyers, registering a 10 per cent YoY decline last month. Last but not least, the midsize Ciaz sedan also remained on a downward path and clocked 481 units.</p>

<p>While this month I must write about my experience with the Maruti Suzuki Fronx during December, I still can’t get over how November went by. If you are an avid reader, you would remember that the Fronx was driven with a sheer focus on fuel efficiency. And the result was fantastic! It returned a mileage of 17.5km/l which is impressive for a three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, especially in everyday city driving conditions which is where most of my time was spent. In comparison, I was averaging about 11km/l prior to this experiment. The pertaining question after it all, though, was do I drive extremely delicately and have kickass mileage or give it all up and have a ball of a time. Turns out, I did a bit of both.</p>

<p>Driving habits over the past month included staying in a higher gear and not going past 2,500rpm mark. Interestingly, it is also post this very mark in the RPM band where the Fronx really comes alive and you feel that turbo-power kick in. Additionally, I made sure to keep the auto idle start-stop system on at all times. While it works flawlessly, it is a bit eager to cut off the engine. So much so, that it would kill off the engine even before the car comes to a full stop. While this is great when you are coming to a full halt, in a situation like parking the car for example, it does become intrusive in slow crawling traffic.</p>

<p>At the end of it all, I managed to squeeze out a mileage of 14.5km/l and I believe, with this, I also found the sweet spot of the Fronx turbo. This way, both the wallet and the heart remains content.</p>

<p>One of the most prominent automakers in the country, Maruti Suzuki, has announced that the Fronx SUV is now the fastest&nbsp;passenger car&nbsp;in India to reach the one lakh sales mark. The crossover, which debuted in April last year&nbsp;and is based on the&nbsp;Baleno hatchback, has achieved&nbsp;this impressive&nbsp;milestone in around ten months. It is important to note that approximately 9,000 of these units have been shipped to countries in Latin America and Africa, with the remaining units being sold in the domestic&nbsp;market. The model currently holds a 12 per cent&nbsp;market share in the prevalent subcompact SUV class, which has helped the carmaker&nbsp;secure a sizable 30 per cent&nbsp;share&nbsp;in the market. The automatic versions have contributed a larger 24 per cent&nbsp;share in overall sales of SUVs, although CNG variants account for 20 per cent&nbsp;of sales. However, just 7 per cent&nbsp;of the Fronx's total sales on the market come from the pricier&nbsp;turbo versions. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Engine Specifications</h2>

<p>Currently, only a couple of petrol-powered options are available for the Fronx. The two&nbsp;engine options are&nbsp;a 1.0-litre turbocharged Booster Jet and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) engine. Both mills come paired&nbsp;with a five-speed manual transmission as standard.&nbsp;The naturally aspirated&nbsp;unit's maximum power output is 88bhp at 6,000rpm, while&nbsp;its peak&nbsp;torque production stands at&nbsp;113Nm at 4,400rpm. The manufacturer&nbsp;offers a 5-speed AMT in addition to the manual gearbox. Furthermore, the MT's stated fuel efficiency is 21.8km/l, whereas for&nbsp;the AT, it&nbsp;is 22.89km/l.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The booster Jet engine comes next. It produces a peak torque of 147.6Nm between 2,000 and 4,500rpm and 99bhp&nbsp;of maximum power at 5,500rpm. Apart from&nbsp;manual transmission, Maruti Suzuki offers a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission with paddle shifters. For the manual transmission, the brand claims a fuel efficiency of 21.5km/l, and for the automatic transmission, 20.02km/l.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Buyers can also choose to have the 1.2-litre engine coupled to&nbsp;a manual gearbox with a CNG powerplant. When employing CNG, the unit's power&nbsp;and torque output&nbsp;decrease to 77bhp and 98.5Nm, respectively. The&nbsp;claimed&nbsp;fuel economy is&nbsp;28.51km/kg.</p>

<p>The interior of the Fronx has a chic black and burgundy theme that elevates the space. The focal point of the infotainment system provides quick access to a range of settings with its user-friendly 9-inch touchscreen.
