<p>The EQG is likely to be called the G 580 once it hits the markets. <p>In terms of suspension, the car gets the standard variant’s independent front suspension set-up as opposed to the solid front axle layout as on the previous-gen <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mercedes-benz/g-class/">G-Class</a> 4X4 Squared. It uses a set of 22-inch alloy wheels and comes with wider fenders and carbon fibre wheel arch extensions that make it even more imposing.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Powering the new G 63 4x4 Squared is the tried and tested AMG 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that is good for 585hp. This is around 163hp more than the previous version. The car also features full-time four-wheel drive and is expected to have lockable differentials, among other off-road features.</p>
