The Japanese WR-V is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine (119bhp/145Nm) paired with a standard CVT automatic. Of late, the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/honda/elevate/">Elevate</a> has seen a lot of highway action happening. First, I had to go on a couple of errands to my hometown, and later a colleague needed a car with decent boot space to take his family on a short holiday. In both trips, we once again discovered how the Elevate makes for an excellent long-distance hauler. It’s big, comfortable seats are a pleasure to spend time in, especially with the ventilated function coming in handy in our glaringly hot summers. At the same time, Honda’s products feature excellent air-conditioning and noise isolation, which means you’re enclosed in your cosy cocoon, no matter the conditions outside.

Pair with this the peppy petrol engine, and high-speed cruising on our new highways is something the Elevate achieves in a very relaxed manner. And if you’re a sedate driver, doing excellent fuel efficiency numbers is easy, and makes your journey that much more comfortable. What also helps here is that with its manageable size, parking the Elevate is a breeze and something that is not an issue in our congested urban areas, and that is a big plus, if this is your primary vehicle. However, one flaw in most of our new highways are the rather bumpy expansion joints, which keep interrupting you every few hundred metres, and here, the suspension of the Elevate feels a tad too soft, and every time you cross a joint at speed, there is a bit too much bobbing movement. Honda Cars India has launched two new Black Editions of its popular SUV, the Elevate. The models, based on the top-spec ZX trim, feature a new Crystal Black Pearl exterior shade and some refined changes. This release marks a first for Honda in India, as the Elevate becomes the company’s inaugural model to offer a Black Edition variant. Reservations for the SUVs have officially begun, with the CVT variants expected to be delivered in January, while deliveries for the manual variants will commence in February.

The Elevate Black Edition and Signature Black Edition introduce distinctive cosmetic changes that set them apart from the regular models. The highlight is an exclusive all-black exterior finish, accompanied by design tweaks such as black alloy wheels with matching nuts, chrome detailing on the upper grille, and silver accents on the skid plates, door trim, and roof rails.&nbsp;The "Black Edition" and "Signature Edition" emblems are also shown on the tailgate and front fender of the Black and Signature Black edition models, respectively.

Honda sold 10,726 cars in November 2024,&nbsp;showing a 9.80% decrease from last year’s 11,891 units.&nbsp;Of the total, the Elevate manufacturer supplied 5,005 units in the domestic market,&nbsp;3,725 units fewer than the 8,730 units sold in the same month the previous year.&nbsp;This led to a huge YoY drop of 42.67%.&nbsp;However, with a staggering&nbsp;80.99% increase, the exports were a&nbsp;contributing factor to the shortfall.&nbsp;In contrast to the 3,161 vehicles&nbsp;shipped in November 2023,&nbsp;the automaker exported 5,721 units last month.&nbsp;

Honda recently launched the third-generation Amaze in India&nbsp;at a starting price of Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). Honda exported 5,721 cars in November 2024, representing an 80.99% increase over the 3,161 vehicles shipped in the same month last year.

In terms of powertrain options, the base MX1, MX2 PRO, MX3, and AX5 variants are fitted with a 109bhp, 1.2-litre&nbsp;turbo-petrol engine, available with either a six-speed&nbsp;manual transmission or a six-speed torque converter automatic. A 115bhp, 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine is also offered with a six-speed manual or a six-speed AMT gearbox. Meanwhile, the AX5L and premium variants are powered by a more robust 129bhp, 1.2-litre turbocharged direct injection petrol engine, paired with a six-speed manual or an Aisin-sourced six-speed torque converter automatic.
