Honda has said that, as a precaution, the replacement of affected parts in the recalled motorcycles will be carried out at the company's BigWing dealerships across India.

A voluntary recall for the H'ness CB350 and the CB350RS has been initiated&nbsp;by Honda Motorcycle &amp; Scooter India (HMSI) due to a malfunctioning rear stop light switch and bank angle sensor. Both models&nbsp;with a faulty rear stop light switch that were recalled were built&nbsp;between October 2020 and January 2023.&nbsp;The recall also pertains to both&nbsp;motorcycle models produced between October 2020 and December 2021 that have a bank angle sensor issue. The bikemaker released an official statement noting, "It has been identified that due to an improper process being followed to manufacture the rubber parts of rear stop light switch, there are chances of crack development on the rubber. This might cause water entry and corrosion inside the switch, leading the light to malfunction. Due to an inappropriate moulding procedure of sensor housing, it was observed that a gap might occur in sensor body sealing which may cause water entry inside the bank angle sensor. This leads to chances of possible sensor malfunction and vehicle stalling in the worst situation."&nbsp;&nbsp;

The impacted H'ness CB350 and CB350RS models will have their rear stop light switch and bank angle sensor replaced by Honda at its BigWing outlets. Last month, the firm sold 2,47,175 units compared to 3,12,650 units in February 2022, depicting a YoY decline of 21%. The company witnessed a decline in terms of both domestic and foreign sales. Domestically, the firm reported selling 2,27,064 units last month, compared to 2,85,706 units in the same month the previous year. Exports were 20,111 units in the past month compared to 26,944 units in February 2022.&nbsp;MoM sales recorded negative total sales, down 16.60% from 2,96,363 units sold in Jan 2023. The volume shrank by 49,188 units. Exports, however, finished on a positive note, increasing 10.38% when compared to 18,220 units exported in January 2023. Domestic sales, on the other hand, declined 18.36% from 2,78,143 units sold in January 2023.

Meanwhile,&nbsp;Honda Motorcycle &amp; Scooter India (HMSI) will launch the CB350 Cafe Racer in India.&nbsp;Although there is no official word, the upcoming motorcycle will probably share the Honda CB350 H'Ness' chassis. The Neo-Retro motorbike will be the third 350cc model in the Honda range, following the CB350 and CB350 RS. The motorcycle will reportedly look similar to the Honda Hness CB350 and the CB350RS. It will sport a vintage cafe-racer look thanks to its bikini fairing and rear cowl. As already said, the manufacturer has not provided any detailed information regarding the bike. But, there are a lot of talks that this new bike, which is set to launch soon in India, will cost a little bit more than the base model.&nbsp;

Dual-channel ABS could be a part of the Neo-Retro motorcycle's safety net, just like it is of the Honda CB350 and CB350RS. Telescopic front forks, twin rear springs, and disc brakes on both wheels make up the hardware of the upcoming bike, similar to the standard versions. The upcoming two-wheeler will have a semi-digital instrument cluster and full LED illumination as features.&nbsp;

The starting price for the Hness CB350 is Rs 2 lakh, while the CB350RS has a starting price of Rs 2.05 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. The new Honda motorcycle could be costlier than these two bikes. It may face competition in India from vehicles like the Jawa 42 and the Royal Enfield Hunter 350.

Honda 2W Sales Declines 21% in February 2023

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has disclosed its sales figures for February 2023. The firm has reported a YoY dip of 21%. Further, the automaker has registered a decline in terms of both domestic and foreign sales.

The Japanese motorcycle maker has issued a software update for its 350cc modern classic motorcycles –&nbsp;the&nbsp;Honda H'ness CB350 and the Honda CB350 RS – to help them&nbsp;perform better at high altitudes.

Honda two-wheelers India has issued an ECU update for the H'ness CB350 and CB350 RS, which includes changes to the fuel mapping of the motorcycles for improved performance at altitudes higher than 4,000 meters. The ECU update will help the motorcycles perform to their optimum in conditions the air is less dense.

Honda India strongly recommends the ECU update to its <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/honda/hness-cb-350/">Honda H'ness CB350</a> and <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/honda/cb350rs/">CB350 RS</a> customers. The ECU update can be had at any authorised <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/honda/">Honda</a> two-wheeler service station for free of charge and should not take more than 15 minutes.

The new units of the Honda H'ness CB350 and the CB350 RS rolling out off the production line will already have the updated ECU software, and&nbsp;new owners will not have to update their respective motorcycles.

Bear in mind that the software update is merely a method to help the engine deliver its optimum output under difficult situations and will not increase the power and torque figures of the CB350 RS and the H’ness CB350.

The power output of both motorcycles will remain&nbsp;unchanged, i.e. 20.8bhp and 30Nm from the 349cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. Other mechanicals and cycle parts will also remain unchanged.

The Honda H’ness 350 carries a starting price of Rs 1.95 lakh (ex-showroom), and the CB350 RS's prices&nbsp;start at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Own a Honda H'ness CB350 or the Honda CB350 RS? The Japanese motorcycle maker has issued a software update for its 350cc modern classic motorcycles which helps them perform better at high altitudes.

With the first price hike since its launch in 2020, the Honda CB350 H’ness becomes dearer to its customers. The pricing is now very close to the monotone variant of the Honda CB350 RS

Honda CB350 H’ness has received its first price hike since its launch in India in September 2020. Similarly, the CB350 RS gets a minor price revision and the sticker price has seen a bump of Rs 6. The CB350 H’ness that is available in two variants &nbsp;– DLX and DLX Pro – has seen a price hike of Rs 3,405. The DLX variant is now priced at Rs 1,89,905, whereas the DLX Pro variant now costs Rs 1,95,905. The top-spec DLX Pro variant of the CB350 H’ness is priced closer to the CB350 RS that starts at Rs 1,96,006. All the aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.

The Honda CB350 H’ness remains the same mechanically, as well as cosmetically. The engine still continues with its 349cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. The power at disposal is the same 20.5bhp and 30Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The features include a semi-digital instrument cluster, Honda Selectable Torque Control, assist, and slipper clutch. The CB350 also features Bluetooth connectivity that lets the rider sync his/her smartphone to the instrument cluster to access more features. The key rivals of the Honda CB350 H’ness are the Royal Enfield Meteor and Classic 350, Jawa, Jawa 42, and the Benelli Imperiale 400.

Honda has managed to achieve the 10,000 units sales milestone in just over 4 months since its launch. The H’ness CB350 is only on sale via Honda’s Big Wing dealerships and is offered in two variants – DLX and DLX Pro.

Despite the fact that Honda has only just made its debut in the retro-modern motorcycle space, it seems&nbsp;to be garnering quite some interest with the new H’ness CB350. The company announced the pricing of the CB350 on 30th September, and since then, it has managed to sell 10,000 units already. This feat seems even more significant when you bear in mind that the CB350 is only sold via Big Wing Honda dealerships. Currently, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has only around 40 Big Wing outlets across the country. The Honda H’ness CB350 currently carries a price tag of Rs 1.87 lakh for the DLX variant and Rs 1.93 lakh for the DLX Pro variant. Currently, the CB350 has a waiting period of about one month, but it varies in different parts of the country.

Speaking about the achievement, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Director – Sales &amp; Marketing, Honda Motorcycle &amp; Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., said, 'With a limited BigWing network, we have already crossed 10,000 sales milestone in a short time and carrying backorders as well across several towns. We are making efforts at the backend to reduce the waiting and to expand&nbsp;our BigWing network fast to more towns and serve our customers better.'

The Honda CB350 makes peak power of 21bhp and max torque of 30Nm from a 348cc single-cylinder motor. The motorcycle gets dual-channel ABS and traction control as standard. While both variants come with LED headlamp and a slip and assist clutch, only the top-end DLX Pro variant gets the Honda Smartphone Voice Control system (HSVCS). The base trim is only offered in a single-tone paint, while the DLX Pro gets dual-tone treatment. The latter also gets a dual horn.
