Like Maruti Suzuki, Renault India, and its other rivals, Honda has also decided to offer discounts on several of its models, including the fifth-generation City, WR-V, and Jazz, to boost sales. The offers are applicable only on the petrol variants of the cars this month; the City Hybrid is also not included.

In a recent development, the company unveiled its previous month’s sales figure, according to which it sold a total of 9,255 units in January 2023 – 7,821 units in the domestic market and 1,434 units internationally. This marks a decrease of 2,894 units from the same time last year when the company sold 2,149 units – a YoY decline of 23.82 per cent. &nbsp;Additionally, the company reported a decrease of 2,606 units in domestic sales in January 2023 as compared to the same month last year, leading to a YoY drop of 25 per cent.

Coming back to discounts available on several models, customers will get cash discounts, loyalty bonuses, corporate benefits, and more. If you want to buy a car this month, you should take a look at the following Honda models, which can be had at discounts of over Rs 72,000.

Honda WR-V

The Honda WR-V currently retails between Rs 9.11 lakh and Rs 12.31 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Compared to the VX trim, the lower SV trim is offered at more cash and Honda car exchange discounts. Honda might stop making the sub-compact crossover shortly. The offers, as mentioned earlier, are only available for petrol variants.&nbsp;

Honda Jazz

The Honda Jazz only gets benefits like a loyalty bonus, a Honda exchange car discount, and a corporate discount. The premium hatchback, priced between Rs 8.01 lakh to Rs 10.32 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom), doesn’t get the benefits of the exchange offer, free accessories, and cash discounts.

Honda City (5th gen)

The Fifth-generation City has a price ranging between Rs 11.87 lakh and Rs 15.62 lakh in India (all prices, ex-showroom). The manual versions of the fifth-gen City get the most cash advantages and optional free equipment, which is worth more than what automatic trims get. The company hasn't announced any benefits for diesel or hybrid vehicles.

Honda City (4th gen)

The fourth-generation Honda City comes with a price ranging between&nbsp;Rs 9.50 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).&nbsp;It is available in only two variants – SV and V. According to rumours, the model will be discontinued shortly in India. But for now,&nbsp;Honda India is&nbsp;offering a loyalty bonus of Rs 5,000 with this model.

Honda City, Amaze and More Gets Offers Over Rs 72,000 in February

Honda is all set to provide offers of over Rs 72,000 on its several models. The carmaker will keep the offers valid throughout February 2023.  However, hybrid or diesel models will not be available for benefits.

Honda claims to have invested more than ₹10,000 crores since it established its operations in India.

<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/honda/">Honda Cars India</a>&nbsp;declared that it has&nbsp;achieved the milestone&nbsp;of manufacturing two million vehicles in the country.&nbsp;At its cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Tapukara, Rajasthan, the automaker's two millionth made-in-India model, a Honda City sedan, officially rolled off the production line.

In December 1997, Honda Car India Limited established its manufacturing operations in the country, with the goal of providing Indian car&nbsp;buyers with premium and best-in-class products.&nbsp;The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/honda/city-4th-generation/">Honda City</a> was the first product offered by the carmaker, and it is presently in its fifth generation.&nbsp;

Honda claims that it has invested more than ₹10,000 crores since it established&nbsp;its operations in India. Senior management from Honda's regional office, including Katsuhiro Kaneda, Director of Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Hiroshi Tokutake, Executive Vice President of&nbsp;Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd., and the management team from Honda Car India, graced the&nbsp;landmark event with their presence.

Addressing the occasion, Takuya Tsumura, President &amp; CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd, said, 'The historic milestone of two&nbsp;million-production roll out in India is a testimony to Honda’s commitment to the "Make in India" initiative for the last 25 years. Honda Cars India reaches two million production milestone

Honda Cars India has reached the two million units production milestone in the country. Since establishing its operations in India, the firm boasts to have invested over Rs 10,000 crore.

Honda India has introduced antivirus cabin air filters for its cars. Honda has developed the new multi-layer filters together with Freudenberg Group. The new cabin filter is made up of four layers, which comprises active allergens and antiviruses, activated carbon, base layer, and an electrically charged filtration layer.

The first layer is coated with an active substance of leaf extract, which prevents allergens and bacteria from entering the cabin. The activated carbon helps subdue particulate matter and other harmful gasses. The dust and pollen are filtered out by the base layer.

Currently, Honda India retails the Amaze, fourth-gen City, fifth-gen City, Jazz, and WR-V. The new antivirus cabin filters are available for all the aforementioned cars as an OEM accessory.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President and Director - Marketing &amp; Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd, said, ‘With increasing concerns around germs, viruses, and cabin air quality, it is our conscious effort to provide an active solution and a defence mechanism to mitigate possible health hazards caused by compromised air quality. Honda introduces antivirus car cabin air filters

Honda Cars India has introduced a multi-layer cabin filter that is intended to offer a safer in-car experience by protecting the occupants from viruses, bad bacterias and allergies.

The BS6 Honda Jazz loses out on a diesel engine option but&nbsp;arrives with a fresh face and some crucial premium features&nbsp;like all-LED&nbsp;lighting and one-touch sunroof.

Just a few days back, <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/bs6-honda-jazz-bookings-open-108232/">Honda had opened its order books for the BS6 Jazz</a> and today, the car has been officially launched at&nbsp;₹7.49 lakh. The BS6 Jazz is available in three trim levels&nbsp;– V, VX and a new top-spec ZX trim&nbsp;– and each trim is available with either a five-speed manual (ARAI fuel-efficiency&nbsp;– 16.6km/l)&nbsp;or a seven-speed CVT automatic gearbox (ARAI fuel-efficiency&nbsp;– 17.1km/l). This takes the BS6 Jazz's total variant-count up to six. While the prices of the manual variants range from&nbsp;₹7.49 lakh to&nbsp;₹8.73&nbsp;lakh, the automatic variant range is priced between&nbsp;₹8.49 lakh and&nbsp;₹9.73 lakh. In its BS6 guise, the Jazz continues to be powered by the brand's 1.2-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol motor that develops 89bhp @ 6,000rpm &amp; 110Nm&nbsp;of torque @ 4,800rpm. However, the outgoing 1.5-litre i-DTEC&nbsp;diesel powertrain has been axed from&nbsp;the updated Jazz's line-up primarily&nbsp;due to low demand, as folks at Honda claim that sales of the petrol CVT automatic variants accounted for&nbsp;nearly 70% of the Jazz's total sales last year.

Design-wise, the BS6 Jazz gets&nbsp;a mild facelift in the form of a revised front fascia (new bumper &amp;&nbsp;grille), new LED headlamps with LED DRLs &amp; LED fog lamps (ZX trim only), a new rear bumper and a revised LED wing light. Inside, a new soft-touch surface forms the part of the passenger-side dashboard and the overall interior upholstery has been revamped too.

Apart from the BS6 upgrade, the 2020 Jazz receives a&nbsp;segment-first one-touch sunroof (ZX trim only) and like before, the CVT-equipped variants continue to offer paddle shifters (another segment-first&nbsp;feature). Also, features like cruise control, which was&nbsp;earlier reserved for the higher-spec variants, is now standard across all variants (MT as well as CVT). Both&nbsp;V &amp; VX trims also get LED DRLs, while the VX trim also gets keyless entry (Honda Smart Key&nbsp;with push-button start/stop) as standard now.

The infotainment unit on the updated Jazz is Honda's DIGIPAD 2.0 that works via a 7-inch touchscreen (VX/ZX trim)&nbsp;and offers Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a new Weblink connectivity option. The list of safety features includes dual front SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, a multi-view rear camera (with guiding lines) &amp;&nbsp;rear parking sensors, high speed alert, engine immobiliser, etc.

There are five colour options available with the 2020 Honda Jazz&nbsp;–&nbsp;Lunar Silver Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Platinum White Pearl &amp;&nbsp;Modern Steel Metallic.

The 2020 Honda Jazz comes with a 3-Year/unlimited km standard warranty and additional 2-Year unlimited/limited km extended warranty packages. Those looking for an Annual Maintenance Package (at the time of new car purchase) can get a 3-Year/30,000km&nbsp;package for&nbsp;₹11,670.

BS6 Honda Jazz launched at Rs 7.49 lakh

The BS6 Honda Jazz has been officially launched at ₹7.49 lakh. The updated Jazz is available in three trim levels – V, VX and a new top-spec ZX trim – and each trim is available with either a five-speed manual or a seven-speed CVT automatic gearbox.

Honda opens pre-bookings for the BS6 Jazz at Rs. 21,000 across all showrooms and for Rs. 5,000, should you choose to book it online via the Honda from Home website. The updated Jazz gets a sunroof, full LED head lamps, fog lamps and LED DRLs. 

Honda Car India has officially commenced pre-bookings for the BS6 specification version of the Jazz that will be powered by the company’s 1.2-litre, four cylinder petrol engine. Honda isn’t bringing back the diesel powered Jazz, as 70 per cent of the car’s sales in 2019 was accounted for by the petrol automatic model. The updated 2020 Honda Jazz will be sold with the choice of petrol manual and CVT automatic variants, the CVT model like earlier comes with paddle shifters.

Powertrain changes aside, the big changes for the updated Jazz come in the form of a face-lift that has given the car new front and rear bumpers and a new front grille. The Jazz now also comes with full LED head lamps and fog lamps, along with LED DRLs and LED rear parking lamps. The 2020 Jazz also brings with it a new one-touch sunroof in higher-end variants, this will make it the only premium hatchback on sale with a sunroof.

Honda has not revealed the launch date for the new Jazz, but the company states that it is looking to launch the car within the month of August itself. Pre-bookings for the car are open at Rs. 21,000 at all Honda Car India showrooms across the country while bookings can also be made online at Rs. 5,000 via the <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/honda-opens-online-car-bookings-107707/">Honda from Home</a>&nbsp;microsite.

Honda Cars India Lt (HCIL) has released a teaser image of the updated Jazz on their official website. While the image primarily shows just a silhouette of the upcoming offering, a keen eye might observe that it doesn’t seem to be extremely different from the outgoing model. The image hazily reveals the headlight, grille, and alloy wheels, which seem to be the same as before.

As far as the engine goes, the 2020 Honda Jazz will continue to be powered by the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol that produces 90bhp and 110Nm. The 1.5-litre diesel will also be carried forward in the same 100bhp/200Nm tune. Both engines will come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. While the petrol variants will also get a CVT option, it is likely that Honda will also include a CVT in the diesel variants, just like the Amaze.

It is safe to assume that the interior will not be very different either. The fully-loaded Jazz will come&nbsp;with a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, height-adjustable driver seat, electrically controllable ORVMs, and more. Honda is likely to lengthen the list of features to compensate for the increase in cost due to the BS-VI update.

The Jazz has always been priced on the higher side, and that has been the biggest drawback for the car. With the updated Jazz, Honda has a chance to address that issue. The hatch will continue to compete against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, and Tata Altroz.

BS-VI Honda Jazz teased

A few days back, <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/fourth-gen-honda-jazz-teased-ahead-of-october-debut-106710/">we brought you the official teaser image of the all-new 4th-gen Honda Jazz</a> (billed as the Honda Fit in Japan &amp; other international markets). And with the start of the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show,&nbsp;the car has finally made its debut. For those not aware, the current Honda Jazz on sale in India is the third-gen model. Retaining its signature design cues (like the rising window line), the fourth-gen model comes along with a completely reworked front &amp; rear fascia and an updated interior as well. Honda says that the new model has been designed keeping usability &amp;&nbsp;comfort at the forefront.

To further enhance frontal outside visibility for the driver, the fourth-gen Jazz gets&nbsp;redesigned A-pillars. As seen in the image, the pillars seem to be quite thin but with a reworked cross-sectional structure, they're bound to offer better impact absorption in case of a collision.&nbsp;The windshield wipers have been placed strategically as well &amp; remain hidden from the occupant's&nbsp;sight. Inside, the instrument panel follows a flat-top design and the front seats are Honda's next-gen body stabilising units that make their debut on the new Jazz.

As for the powertrain details, Honda is yet to reveal them. But what we do know is that the new Jazz, when it goes on sale in February 2020, will arrive with both petrol &amp; hybrid versions. The hybrid version will feature Honda's newly-announced e:HEV two-motor hybrid drive. The e:HEV architecture will also make its way onto the 2020 Accord Hybrid and will become Honda's core hybrid system moving forward.

The new Jazz also benefits from added tech to the Honda SENSING safety &amp; driver-assist system. The setup now features a wide-view front&nbsp;camera, which, coupled with eight sonar sensors placed at the front &amp; rear of the car, supports the new&nbsp;short-distance collision mitigation braking system. The new Jazz also becomes the first model to get the 'Honda Connect' onboard communication module. It offers remote control of some vehicle features via a smartphone &amp; numerous&nbsp;emergency assist &amp; security service&nbsp;options, in case of an emergency.

2020 Honda Jazz (Fit) unveiled at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show

When it goes on sale in February 2020, the new Jazz will arrive with both petrol & hybrid versions. The hybrid version will feature Honda's newly-announced e:HEV two-motor hybrid drive.

Set to be revealed on 23rd October, the fourth-gen Jazz will arrive, for the first time, with a hybrid powertrain.

In May 2019, we had brought you the first <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/hybrid-powertrain-confirmed-for-fourth-gen-honda-jazz-105945/">spy shots of the upcoming fourth-gen Honda Jazz</a> caught by our international partner Quattroruote. Now, in the run-up to its official debut at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show on 23rd October, Honda has dropped a teaser of the car that highlights its&nbsp;overall silhouette but gives away some interesting design details. The new Jazz is expected to get a wider set of tail lamps that extend onto the boot lid (LED&nbsp;units perhaps) &amp; at the front, the design cues seem to be shared with Honda's new models, like the CR-V. The LED headlamp units feature a revised design &amp; the front bumper gets a rather protruding lower lip.&nbsp;

As reported earlier, the new Jazz (billed as the 'Fit' in Japan)&nbsp;will come with a hybrid powertrain.&nbsp;What's interesting here is Honda's latest announcement, stating&nbsp;that it will be sold in Europe only with the new twin-motor hybrid powertrain. This hybrid powertrain is expected to use a&nbsp;reworked version of Honda's familiar Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) technology. While the CR-V gets the same setup with a 2.0-litre motor, the Jazz is likely to get a smaller motor (1.5-litre or even a 1.2-litre unit). This is yet to be confirmed though.

Honda has stated that the new Jazz&nbsp;has been 'redesigned with the passenger at its heart...it will raise the bar in terms of comfort and driver enjoyment.' So, in terms of dimensions, expect the fourth-gen Jazz to be wider than its predecessor, with a more spacious cabin than before.

Fourth-gen Honda Jazz teased ahead of October debut

In the run-up to its official debut at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show on 23rd October, Honda has dropped a teaser of the car that highlights its overall silhouette but gives away some interesting design details.

The fourth-generation Jazz will make its debut at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show later this year, and what’s more, it’ll be launched with a hybrid powertrain for the first time.

The spy shots (as seen here) of the fourth-gen Honda Jazz have been doing the rounds on the internet for quite a while now. The latest development on this front comes from Honda itself. The Japanese carmaker has announced that the new Jazz will be offered, for the first time in its history, with a hybrid powertrain. This announcement came on the sidelines of Honda's official name reveal for its first urban electric hatchback, which will be called the Honda E. The <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/honda-to-showcase-production-ready-ev-at-geneva-105377/">Honda E was presented as a Concept</a> at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

Coming back to the Jazz, the hybrid powertrain in question here will feature a reworked version of Honda's familiar Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) technology, which is already deployed in the current <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/honda-cr-v-hybrid-showcased-in-paris-104614/">CR-V hybrid</a> (available in the international markets). While the CR-V uses the 2.0-litre i-VTEC motor, the Jazz is most likely to be powered by a smaller version, perhaps the 1.5-litre motor. Further, the fourth-gen Jazz is likely to borrow its underpinnings from the HR-V crossover.

As for visual changes, the test prototypes suggest a departure from the current Jazz's angular styling. The new model appears to be more curvaceous, opting for rounder body panels. The interior is likely to be a mixed-bag, with borrowed elements from Honda's current line-up. The infotainment system is likely to be the same seven-inch unit as the Civic.
