With this, the firm intends to expand&nbsp;its global lineup of battery-powered vehicles.&nbsp;The SC e:, still in the concept stage, is the newest all-electric model&nbsp;on the two-wheeler market.&nbsp;The EV, which debuted beside the production-spec EM:1, is an obvious tease at a bigger, family-friendly version from Honda and shares a battery-swappable feature with the smaller model. <h2>Honda SC e: Styling Cues</h2>

<p>The SC e: concept's general design is reminiscent of standard contemporary scooters. It has a unique look thanks to the full-width LED light bar with an illuminated Honda insignia up front. The model also&nbsp;features&nbsp;pillion-foot pegs that fold flat into the bodywork and a large, wide, single-piece seat with a full-size pillion grab handle. Blue highlights on the floorboard, bub motor, handlebar, front lighting panel, and tail section add to its EV character.&nbsp;The vehicle&nbsp;looks similar to the EM 1e: e-scooter that is currently on the market in Europe, however, the former appears significantly larger. Additionally, two replaceable battery packs that take up most of the storage capacity are positioned behind the seat in the concept.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to Honda, the SC e: Concept is only a prototype, and there are no immediate plans to put this scooter into production. But since the platform might be used later, it could&nbsp;serve as a sneak peek at an electric scooter modelled after the Activa. Furthermore, although its design is undoubtedly futuristic, the company&nbsp;has made an effort to stay away from the bold visual cues that are typically associated with concept electric vehicles.</p>

<p>Regarding technological integrations, Bluetooth-based connectivity features are anticipated for the Honda SC e: electric scooter prototype. <h2>Honda SC e: Will it Come to India?</h2>

<p>The auto major&nbsp;had earlier made it clear&nbsp;that it would&nbsp;enter the Indian market for electric two-wheelers next year&nbsp;and that it plans to sell a scooter with a swappable battery. However, it is unclear if the production version of the Honda SC e: will be available in our home market. Notably,&nbsp;Honda's two-wheelers will also be equipped with the&nbsp;"Mobile Power Pack," which is the same network that has already been implemented for three-wheelers in a few regions in Japan.&nbsp;</p>


Honda SC e: Electric Scooter Concept Showcased at Japan Mobility Show, Gets Swappable Batteries

Honda debuted the SC e: electric scooter concept at the Japan Mobility Show. It gets swappable batteries with a combined capacity of about 2.6kWh. The e-scooter prototype looks similar to the EM 1e: e-scooter that is currently on the market in Europe, however, the former appears larger.

<p>Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India&nbsp;is actively working on its plans to introduce electric vehicles in the coming decade, and now, we have the concept version of the electric scooter. Dubbed the&nbsp;SC e, it is set to make its global debut at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show, with&nbsp;the Speciality Sports,&nbsp;SUSTANIA-C,&nbsp;POCKET, and the CI-MEV&nbsp;also being showcased at the show. The&nbsp;Japan Mobility Show 2023 is scheduled to take place from October 25 to November 5 (Press days: October 25 to 26, Public days: October 28 to November 5, 2023).&nbsp;While the official details will be out soon, we suspect that the&nbsp;SC e Concept EV&nbsp;will preview one of the future electric vehicles that Honda is planning&nbsp;to launch in 2024 in India. In its detailed plan involving two new electric two-wheelers slated for next year, Honda said that one of the EVs will be based on a mid-range, fixed battery construct, whereas the other will get a swappable battery unit.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Besides, we also know that the first electric vehicle&nbsp;from Honda stable will go on sale in March 2024, likely to be the Activa Electric. This will be followed by the launch of another vehicle in September next year. The upcoming electric two-wheelers will be locally produced at the company's Narsapura plant in Karnataka, to keep manufacturing costs in check. With this, Honda aims to cross the 10 lakh EV production milestone by 2030.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Honda Activa Electric, which is currently under development,&nbsp;will come with a fixed-type battery, while its top speed is claimed to be around&nbsp; 50km/h. It will be an India-specific offering based on the Activa 6G.&nbsp;However, the motor and battery specifications will be revealed closer to the launch date.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Honda SC e Concept</h2>

<p>Coming back to the Honda SC e, the concept vehicle will preview the future electric scooter. This&nbsp;concept vehicle gets battery-swapping technology, eliminating the waiting time for battery charging. It is powered by two&nbsp;Honda Mobile Power Pack e units. Honda says that the SC e&nbsp;is one&nbsp;means of expanding the use of renewable energy while offering a smooth and powerful ride unique only to an electric motorcycle.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Honda Specialty Sports Concept</h2>

<p>Along with the SC e, Honda will also display many concepts at the Tokyo Motor Show, including the Speciality Sports SUSTANIA-C,&nbsp;POCKET, CI-MEV, and the Prologue Prototype. The Honda Speciality Sports will be a born EV sports car, which is claimed to offer&nbsp;the 'pure joy' of driving and allow the driver to&nbsp;transcend the constraints of time, even in the era of electrification for carbon neutrality and the popularisation of automated driving technology.&nbsp;</p>
