Suzuki Australia launched the made-in-India Jimny 5-door in December 2023 in the&nbsp;home market where the model is sold as the Jimny XL. That model has now received a special edition treatment giving the Jimny 5-door some distinct design elements. Only 500 units of the special edition model, dubbed the Jimny 5-door Heritage Edition, will be made, with pricing climbing by AU$ 1,500&nbsp;(roughly Rs 83,600) compared to&nbsp;the model on which it is based. For potential Aussie buyers, the Heritage Edition is priced at AU$ 36,490, which translates to Rs 20.34 lakh.&nbsp;

So, what makes the Heritage Edition&nbsp;special? The retro-flavoured decals&nbsp;– a&nbsp;visual nod to the&nbsp;70s, 80s and 90s&nbsp;– can be seen on the body. Besides, the special model&nbsp;comes with the 'Heritage' lettering, and&nbsp;red mudflaps both front and back, with the latter also sporting Suzuki embossing. The Suzuki Jimny XL Heritage Edition can be had in&nbsp;White,&nbsp;Bluish Black Pearl, Jungle Green,&nbsp;Granite Grey, and&nbsp;Chiffon Ivory with a Black roof.&nbsp;

<h2>Suzuki Jimny 5-door Heritage Edition: Features</h2>

Features-wise, the Australia-spec model remains broadly the same as the India-spec SUV but gains an ADAS suite with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) as standard. For those not aware,&nbsp;the Government of Australia made the AEB feature mandatory in all new passenger and commercial vehicles approved for sale in the country, effective from March 1, 2023.

The ADAS suite also incorporates&nbsp;features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, high-beam assist, dual camera brake support system, and weaving alert. Speaking of the safety equipment, the car also gets&nbsp;six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, traction control, and ISOFIX mounts.

Like the India-spec model, the Jimny XL offers a 9.0-inch multimedia touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car technology,&nbsp;hill descent control, auto climate control, keyless entry, limited slip differential, and automatic LED headlamps.&nbsp;

<h2>Suzuki Jimny 5-door Heritage Edition: Powertrain&nbsp;</h2>

Under the hood,&nbsp;the Jimny XL Heritage Edition&nbsp;gets the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated K15B petrol engine as the Indian version.&nbsp;This engine, however, is offered in a different state-of-tune, developing 99bhp and 130Nm of peak torque.&nbsp;In comparison, the Indian model makes 103bhp at 6,000rpm and 134Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. Unlike the standard Jimny XL, the Heritage Edition is mated only to a&nbsp;5-speed manual gearbox.&nbsp;

In Australia, the Jimny 3-door model is exported to Australia from Japan. The Jimny 5-door, meanwhile, is exclusively exported from India. In the Indian market, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny ranges from Rs 12.74 lakh to Rs 14.95 lakh in India. The prices are ex-showroom.&nbsp;

Suzuki Jimny 5-door Heritage Edition Unveiled in Australia

Only 500 units of the Suzuki Jimny 5-door Heritage Edition will be manufactured, whereas the 3-door Jimny Heritage Edition unveiled last year was capped at 300 units.

Suzuki has revealed the three-door Jimny special limited edition in Australia. The Jimny Heritage Edition is the new special edition, of which only 300 units will be produced. Suzuki has introduced the model with a few cosmetic improvements, including the 'Heritage' decals above the rear wheel arches. The Jimny also receives Red mud flaps with a White Suzuki emblem and is available in four colour choices: White, Bluish Black Pearl, Jungle Green, and Medium Grey.&nbsp;There are no changes in terms of power specifications. The Suzuki Jimny Heritage edition is powered by the same 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that puts out 104bhp and 134Nm. According to Suzuki, the Heritage edition uses 5-speed manual transmission. A 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox is still an option for the standard variant. The Suzuki AllGrip Pro four-wheel drive system is also included in the Heritage model.

Features-wise, the Jimny Heritage edition is similar to the standard model. It features a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, LED projector headlights, a reverse camera, and climate control. In India, the carmaker will launch the Jimny in a new 5-door version. Bookings for the new Jimny in India are currently underway at Rs 25,000. The carmaker claims that the response, so far, has been overwhelming.&nbsp;According to reports,&nbsp;the automaker may increase the new Jimny's manufacturing capacity to ensure that the waiting period remains between 3 and 9 months.

Mechanically speaking,&nbsp;the 5-door SUV will be powered by a 1.5-litre&nbsp;petrol engine, which generates 103bhp and 134Nm. It will come mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission.&nbsp;It will have the company's AllGrip Pro system, which includes 2H, 4H, and 4L low-range transfer gear. In terms of appearance,&nbsp;the&nbsp;Jimny-5 door has a boxy design. Further, it comes with flared wheel arches, an upright front grille with circular headlights, and rectangular taillights at the rear.

The new Maruti Suzuki Jimny-5 Door's feature list includes a touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted controls, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, a wireless charger, and an analogue instrument dashboard with a MID. Six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and other safety equipment will ensure the safety of the passengers.

According to industry reports, <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/maruti-suzuki-to-start-jimny-5-door-production-in-april-2023-112607/">the new Jimny for India will enter production next month</a>. Reports further claim that the model could be launched in our market by May 2023 at prices that are estimated to be more than Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).&nbsp;
