Currently, the Indian branch of the Japanese company only provides the ZX-10R model in our market. Additionally, it comes equipped with wire-spoked wheels that measure 21-inch&nbsp;in the front and 18-inch in the rear, and are fitted with tube-type tires that are suitable for off-road adventures.

We are not sure whether the bikemaker would bring the&nbsp;2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR to India or not. But, if it arrives in the Indian market, the motorcycle will lock horns with the likes of the Ducati Panigale V4 and BMW S1000 RR.&nbsp;

At a tempting price of Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R undercuts motorcycles that are positioned below its segment in terms of power, electronic package, and equipment.

The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, which made a global debut in November 2020, has been launched in India for a price of Rs 14.99 lakh. The litre-class super-sport has been priced significantly lower than its direct rivals. The Ninja ZX-10R rivals the BMW S 1000 RR and the Honda CBR1000RR-R, which are priced higher than it. The motorcycle also rivals the Ducati Panigale V4 and the Aprilia RSV4; however, the two can only be compared once they are launched in their BS6 iterations in India. Interestingly, the 2021 Ninja ZX-10R undercuts the Ducati Panigale V2 and the Triumph Speed Triple RS in terms of pricing, so naturally, we added the two in the following price comparison.&nbsp;

Following is a price-wise comparison of the 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R with its aforementioned rivals:

BMW S 1000 RR

Competing in the same segment, the BMW S 1000 RR has a higher base price of Rs 19.5 lakh. The Ninja ZX-10R undercuts the S 1000 RR by Rs 4.5 lakh. The model that sits above the standard is the S 1000 RR Pro, which is priced at Rs 21.4 lakh. The top-spec S 1000 RR Pro M Sport is priced at Rs 23.75 lakh.

Honda CBR1000RR-R

The Honda CBR1000RR-R gets almost similar levels of electronics and mechanicals as the Ninja ZX-10R. While the pricing of the Ninja ZX-10R is on the more accessible end, the CBR1000RR-R demands a price of Rs 32.68 lakh. Which is higher than that of the BMW S 1000 RR Pro M Sport. The CBR1000RR-R SP, which&nbsp;is equipped with uprated suspensions and brakes, will be priced higher than the standard model.

Panigale V2

The Panigale V2 gets a 955cc V-twin motor, which is a bit shy of being a litre-class engine. Although the engine layout is different and the power deficit cannot be overlooked, the super-sport is priced at Rs 17.49 lakh, which is Rs 2.5 lakh over that of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R. With a higher price tag and a power output of 152bhp, the Ducati Panigale V2 is a premium buy.

Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS

Priced closest to the Ninja ZX-10R, the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS costs Rs 16.95 lakh. The street naked roadster has a completely different character and offering. It gets an in-line-three cylinder engine, which displaces 1160cc (above litre-class). The power figure is 177.5 bhp, which is still lower than the Ninja ZX-10R, although the Speed Triple RS, with its 125Nm of peak torque,&nbsp;has an edge over the Ninja ZX-10R.

Kawasaki has started assembling the Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR in India, which has resulted in a massive price cut!&nbsp;

Kawasaki has dropped a bomb in the superbike market of India as the company has launched the locally-assembled version of the Ninja ZX-10R. Available in two variants - standard ZX-10R and ZX-10RR - the litre-class superbike is now priced between Rs 12.80 lakh and Rs 16.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The same models used to retail for Rs 18.80 lakh (ZX-10R) and Rs 21.90 lakh (ZX-10RR) as CBUs earlier. This massive price cut also means that the Ninja ZX-10R is now the most affordable litre-class superbike in the country!

Mechanically, both the motorcycles are unchanged. The ZX-10R is powered by a 998cc, inline-four cylinder engine that churns out 197bhp and 113.5Nm of torque. Power transmission is carried out by a six-speed transmission. The motorcycle gets a raft of electronics aids including a six-axis IMU that controls the traction control, ABS, quick-shifter, power modes and engine braking control system. The ZX-10R will be offered only in KRT green-black paint scheme in India.

The ZX-10RR, on the other hand, is more track-focussed and gets a couple of performance enhancements such as a modified cylinder head, a high-lift cam profile, reinforced crankcases and tappets that get diamond-like-coating (DLC) surface to reduces friction and mechanical loss. It also gets lighter seven-spoke forged aluminium Marchesini wheels and uprated Brembo M50 brake callipers. On offer here&nbsp;is also the updated Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) which does both quick up- and down-shifts. The ZX-10RR will be available only in black colour.

According to Kawasaki, the locally assembled Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja ZX-10RR will be available in limited numbers and the current prices are introductory – post-July 2018, the prices will be revised. That said, we’re certain that despite the price hike, later on, both the bikes will continue to be extremely good value for money, especially when compared with rivals such as the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, BMW S1000RR, Yamaha YZF-R1, Suzuki GSX-R1000, et al.
