<p>Like its predecessor, the new model is built on the standard wheelbase and utilises the MLA-Flex platform.&nbsp;As mentioned, the luxury automaker has introduced the car for an ex-showroom price of&nbsp;Rs 1.45 crore. The new-gen version&nbsp;sees a price increase of Rs 15 lakh compared to the 2024 iteration&nbsp;but is still Rs 25 lakh less expensive than the previously available&nbsp;completely&nbsp;built-up&nbsp;unit.</p>

<p>The 2025 Range Rover Sport comes with several upgrades such as&nbsp;semi-aniline leather upholstery, massage functionality for the front seats, and a head-up display (HUD). These enhancements are paired with the familiar 13.1-inch curved touchscreen infotainment system, which continues to be a centrepiece of the cabin. Powered by the latest Pivi Pro operating system, the infotainment screen offers comprehensive controls for climate settings, media, and&nbsp;navigation.</p>

<p>Locally assembled in India, the 2025 Range Rover Sport is offered with two powertrain options. The petrol variant is equipped with a 3.0-litre Dynamic SE engine delivering 394bhp of maximum power&nbsp;and 550Nm of peak torque, while the diesel version features a 3.0-litre Dynamic SE engine generating 346bhp and 700Nm of torque. World leaders often rely on heavily armoured vehicles disguised as luxury models to provide discreet protection. For instance, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi travels in a Range Rover Sentinel, a high-end vehicle equipped with advanced security features.

<p>Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has released its sales figures for the first quarter of the financial year 2025, clocking over 30 percent year-over-year (YoY) growth. The automaker sold&nbsp;1,371 units compared to the same period of the last financial year ending March 2024 (1,048 units). Furthermore,&nbsp;JLR said&nbsp;its wholesale volumes grew over 45 percent year-over-year in Q1 FY2025,&nbsp;creating record sales for the automaker.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Range Rover Sport SV Celestial Collection has been unveiled by Land Rover.&nbsp;This collection, which includes five unique models – Gaea, Theia, Io, Vega, and Sol – is inspired by mythology and heavenly bodies. Special colour schemes, carbon ceramic brakes, a carbon fibre hood, 23-inch wheels, fabric and trim inserts, and other distinctive stylistic elements are all part of the limited edition.</p>

<p>The cabin is more understated than the exterior, with upholstery options including non-leather ebony upholstery with yellow stitching and navy Windsor leather with mild contrast stitching.</p>


JLR India Announces 5-year Service Plan For Land Rover, Range Rover, and Jaguar Models

All new car buyers as well as those who purchased a JLR within the last year but haven't finished their first periodic service are eligible for this 5-year service package.

<p>JLR India has announced the commencement of local assembly for select variants of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport SUVs. The Range Rover Sport's Dynamic SE will be available with a 3.0-litre petrol or diesel engine, priced at Rs 1.40 crore, offering a savings of up to Rs 29 lakh. The full-size Range Rover comes in two trim levels: the 3.0 Diesel LWB HSE at Rs 2.36 crore and the 3.0 Petrol LWB Autobiography at Rs 2.60 crore (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom), both with price reductions of up to Rs 56 lakh. Despite the local assembly initiative, many other variants will continue to be imported as CBUs. JLR's Pune facility, which already assembles the Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Velar, Land Rover Discovery Sport, and Jaguar F-Pace, will handle the local assembly of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. Notably, India is the first market where JLR locally assembles both models.</p>

Range Rover LWB, Range Rover Sport to be Locally-assembled in India; Prices set to fall up to Rs 56 lakh

For the first time in their 54-year history, Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover will begin producing the iconic Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models outside the UK, starting in India.

<p>The Range Rover Electric&nbsp;is undergoing rigorous testing across a range of climates and temperatures, ranging from -40°C in the Arctic Circle to +50°C in the Middle Eastern deserts, before its global debut later this year.&nbsp;JLR has officially released the first test images of the electric SUV cruising through snow in Sweden's Arctic Circle. Visually, the electric prototype looks a lot like the ICE-powered Range Rover (Rs 2.39 crore). It has an all-black paint job.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the press statement, the initial tests focused on the performance of transmission, electric motors, and electronics at temperatures below zero. For the first time, the manufacturer developed its own battery and electric drive unit (EDU). Here are more details on the Range Rover Electric that will go on sale in several markets, including India, after its global debut.</p>

<p>Thomas Mueller, Executive Director, Product Engineering, said, ''Range Rover with electric power – means customary Range Rover luxury, refinement and capability plus near-silent fully electric propulsion; with effortlessly smooth and relaxed journeys.''</p>

<p>He added ''To ensure we leave no stone uncovered, we are well underway with our physical testing and development programme, all designed at pushing Range Rover Electric to the extremes to ensure its capability remains unparalleled when it reaches you.''</p>

<h2>Range Rover Electric Prototype Winter Testing: More Details</h2>

<p>JLR claims that the upcoming e-SUV will perform better on icy or low-grip surfaces compared to its traditional counterpart. It stated ''Rather than a traditional traction control setup based solely in the ABS unit, Range Rover Electric distributes the wheel slip management task directly to each electric drive control unit, reducing the torque reaction time at each wheel from around 100 ms, to as little as 1 ms'. The company also added ''Innovative software, developed in-house by JLR, enables precise EDU speed control for accurate management of wheel slip, reducing the need for ABS intervention.''</p>

<h2>Range Rover Electric: Powertrain and Other Details&nbsp;</h2>

<p>The technical specifications of the electrified SUV are currently unclear, except for the 800V charging architecture that allows for fast charging. The EV will include Jaguar Land Rover's flexible Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA). It is expected to have a dual-motor setup and 4WD and torque vectoring. JLR has revealed the first official pictures of the upcoming Range Rover Electric undergoing rigorous winter testing. The all-electric SUV is expected to make its public debut in late 2024 and go on sale in India the following year.

<p>Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has achieved its highest-ever sales in the last five years. It reported selling&nbsp;4,436 vehicles, representing a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 81 per cent in the last financial year, which ended March 31, 2024. JLR India says this is one of its best performances since its official entry into the Indian market in 2009. The company attributed this growth to the Land Rover Defender and the Range Rover, which saw a YoY&nbsp;increase of 120 and 160 per cent, respectively. Moreover, the Range Rover Evoque recorded&nbsp;a 55 per cent&nbsp;YoY growth, while the&nbsp;2024&nbsp;Discovery Sport witnessed a 50 per cent increase in the previous year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking of the Discovery Sport, JLR&nbsp;launched the 2024 iteration of the luxury SUV&nbsp;in the Indian market in January, with prices starting at Rs 67.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The new SUV comes with two engine options:&nbsp;a 2.0-litre petrol engine and&nbsp;a 2.0-litre diesel engine.&nbsp;The former features a&nbsp;48V mild-hybrid system and delivers&nbsp;245hp and 365Nm of torque, while the latter makes 201bhp and 430Nm of peak torque. The power is sent to all wheels through a&nbsp;9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the Range Rover lineup, there are some stunning products, and the Velar is a unique offering amongst them. It’s an absolute looker, and yet, is positioned uniquely, for it offers a rather stylish design, and yet offers the traditional Range Rover functionality at the same time.</p>

<h2>Range Rover Velar Review: Stylish Upgrade</h2>

<p>For 2024, Velar gets a styling refresh, but the overall design stays true to the original’s “reductive design” language that went on to be adopted by the product range – similar to the Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport with their sleek lines. The main difference here being the swept back roofline which differentiates the Velar from its siblings. The updates include the latest family grille and reshaped LED headlamps with streamlined running lights. At the rear, designers accentuated the Velar’s overhang with a new bumper and LED taillamps with a 3D effect and brighter illumination. There are other small changes to the design too, but mostly, the Velar remains perhaps the most stylish of the products from the Range Rover line up, and has a distinct edge over its cousins when it comes to design kudos.</p>

<p>On the inside though, the Velar keeps its itself very near to absolute luxury with its tactile interiors, as well as large screens that dot the dashboard. As with its other siblings, the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/land-rover/range-rover-velar/">Velar</a> gains a single, 11.4-inch curved touchscreen that now handles all infotainment and climate functions. Running JLR’s latest Pivi Pro system, its greatly improved despite an increased workload, and integrates wireless everything: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and OTA updates, along with Alexa.</p>

<p>There is, of course, a lower screen on the dashboard, which is used to manage the Terrain Response 2 system for off-road excursions, meaning the larger, main screen is now tasked with selecting one of the seven settings for varied environments. Of course, being a Range Rover, Hill Descent Control and All-Terrain Progress Control are standard, mainly for drivers who like to take their machines on steep or slippery terrain.</p>

<h2>Range Rover Velar Review: Power Upgrade</h2>

<p>Taking it on the highway, and in urban traffic though, I felt that the 2.0-litre does the job admirably, but I might prefer a bigger engine. In most conditions, the 247bhp engine with its 365Nm of torque was adequate, but on long highways, you could always sense that the Velar could do with a bigger engine. Suspension wise, however, there were no complaints as the Velar dealt with all kind of conditions with aplomb and was very adept with dealing with bad surfaces despite being on large 20-inch wheels. The steering offered a decent amount of feel, and when it comes to driving modes, after sampling with the various options on offer, I preferred the Sport mode, as it offered better drivability and more urgent gearshifts.</p>

<p>The one question I always get about the Velar is its practicality, and to be honest, that’s something I’ve always struggled to answer. Like its smaller sibling – <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/2024-range-rover-evoque-launched-in-india-at-rs-6790-lakh-115980/">the Evoque which&nbsp;has also got an update for 2024</a>&nbsp;– the Velar is something you buy to make a style statement. So practicality is not its finest attribute. However, for what it’s worth, the Velar will seat five adults with comfort, and also take your weekend luggage without an issue. So that’s not really an issue. And, let’s add to that the fact that it can most probably off-road better than most SUVs in the world without a worry.</p>

<h2>Range Rover Velar Review: Desirablity</h2>

<p>Like every other product in the Range Rover family, the Velar is a highly desirable luxury <a href="https://www.autox.com/suv-cars-in-india/">SUV</a> that has the image and sophistication to justify its price tag. It’s not all flash and no substance, as the interior is a lovely place to sit with its selection of tasteful materials and user-friendly technologies. It’s also quite nice to drive, and offers a very large amount of practicality for what it is.</p>

<p>The other aspect is that virtually no Velar – not in India, at least – will ever go off-road, but, nevertheless, the Velar offers you an insane amount of off-road ability for what is essentially a lifestyle focused product. So, where does that leave the Velar? Well, it is <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/industry-news/land-rover-range-rover-velar-prices-reduced-by-rs-640-lakh-in-india-check-new-prices-here-116254/">a very capable, stylish and versatile SUV</a>, but at the same time, costing nearly ₹1 crore on-road (if not more), it is also a very premium one. If I were a buyer, I would look at how much I value the style quotient when looking at the Velar, and that would be my primary choice for picking one up. However, if your primary drive is style, you would hardly find anything more stylish than the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/land-rover/range-rover-velar/price-in-new-delhi/">Velar at its price</a> point.</p>
