BMW has launched the M3 MT Final Edition in Japan, signifying the end of manual transmissions in the M3 family. With a price tag of ¥14,200,000 (approx Rs 78.97 lakh) this unique version is the most equipped version of the M3, with a manual gearbox. If the demand for the limited edition BMW exceeds the available 150 units, BMW will use a lottery system to determine who gets to purchase one. The winners of the lottery will be announced by the end of May. Delivery of the M3 MT Final Edition is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2024, and fans in Japan may only purchase it via the official BMW website.

This special edition honours the 35th anniversary of the BMW M3's first win in the German Touring Car Championship. Each of the 150 vehicles will be equipped with a manual gearbox and suited for right-hand drive. They will be available in three separate colours: M Brooklyn Grey, Alpine White and Black Sapphire. In addition, the car will showcase distinctive gold-coated wheels and crimson seat inserts, enhancing its rarity and design focused on performance.

Some of BMW's high-performance M models, such as the <a href="https://www.autox.com/reviews/car-reviews/2023-bmw-m2-india-review-vs-1992-bmw-325i-comparison-the-last-old-school-m-car-113423/">M2, M3</a>, M4, and Z4, are the only ones sold internationally with manual transmissions. Designed for fans who like the tactile engagement of driving a manual gearbox, the M3 MT Final Edition is the epitome of driving enjoyment.&nbsp;

<h2>BMW M3 MT Final Edition: Engine</h2>

The performance of the M3 is centred on its 3.0-litre, straight six-cylinder, twin-turbocharged petrol engine, known as the S58. The standard model of the car produces 480bhp of power and 550Nm of torque, whilst the Competition version has a higher output of 510bhp and 650Nm. Equipped with either a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the M3 accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in under 3.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250km/h. An additional M Driver's package can increase the top speed to 290km/h.

Considering the future, BMW is hard at work on an updated M3 that will mimic the appearance of the newly revamped <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/2025-bmw-m4-facelift-globaly-revealed-with-sharper-looks-and-more-power-115996/">BMW M4</a>. According to reports, the M3 Competition is expected to be upgraded with an extra 20bhp, resulting in a total output of 523bhp.

The M3 MT Final Edition is a limited-edition special model with a 150-unit production limit. In May, BMW will conduct a lottery to determine the distribution if there are more than 150 interested buyers for the unique model.

BMW has unveiled&nbsp;the M 50 Jahre editions of the M3 and M4. The cars come with exclusive paint options, both on the exterior and the interior.

On its 50th anniversary, BMW’s M division unveiled M 50 Jahre editions of the M3 and M4. The cars will be limited in numbers and will arrive with a subtle exclusive update only in specific markets.&nbsp;

The BMW M4 50 Jahre edition cars will come with special paint schemes, including Marino Blue, Carbon Black, Imola Red, Macao Blue, and Brands Hatch Grey. In addition to this, the&nbsp;two-door coupe will have 19-inch M forged alloy wheels at the front and 20-inch at the rear. Furthermore, for the first time, BMW will offer these wheels in Gold Bronze matte and Orbit Grey matte finishes.&nbsp;

Inside, the M4 Jahre Edition is similar to the standard M4 coupe. A notable distinguishing element would be the 'Edition 50 Jahre BMW M'' lettering on the door sills and the 'M4 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M'' metal plaque located on the centre console. The headrests of the standard M Sport and the optional carbon-fibre bucket front seats will also feature the same embroidered lettering.

Meanwhile, the M3 Jahre edition, which is exclusively available in the US and Canada, will be limited to just 500 units. Inside, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/bmw/">BMW </a>is offering the M3 Jahre edition with 5 exterior paint options, including Limerock Grey, Cinnebar Red, Techno Violet, Fire Orange, and Interlagos Blue shades.

Like the M4 Jahre edition, the M3 also gets the 'Edition 50 Jahre BMW M' lettering on the door sills and M stripes on the headrests. Additionally, the M3 Jahre edition will also get an identity plaque, for instance, '1/500'.&nbsp;

To celebrate 50 years of the M division, BMW has unveiled the M 50 Jahre editions of the M3 and M4 models. The limited-run models with arrive with subtle exclusive features and will be introduced in specific markets.

Here’s a great news for BMW aficionados in India - BMW has launched the ‘M Performance Training’ program in the country. What that means is that now you will able to experience BMW’s M Division cars over a full day event.  The first episode of the M Performance Training was recently held in Bengaluru, while the rest are scheduled for Delhi, Chennai and Aamby Valley.
The M Performance Training will allow participants to drive and experience M Division cars in different driving conditions involving cornering courses, high-speed straights, etc. Participants will be able to drive the whole range of BMW M Division cars available in India, namely, M3 Sedan, M4 Coupe, M5, M6 Gran Coupe, X5 M and X6 M.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Frank Schloeder, (Act.) President, BMW Group India said, “A machine is only as good as the person controlling it. This philosophy defines the fundamentals of ‘BMW M Performance Training’. Seasoned BMW certified trainers and instructors will help drivers get maximum driving pleasure out of their cars. We are delighted to bring this exclusive program for car enthusiasts in India enabling them to cut a good figure on the racetrack, so they can handle whatever test the road throws at them.”
Of course, there’s a fee attached to all of that, but the returns you will get from the training will be well worth it, we believe. BMW hasn’t revealed the participation costs thus far, but it’s understood that there will be limited seats for the training program.
