<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/porsche/">Porsche India</a> sold a total of 489 units in the first six months of 2024 (January to June), representing a remarkable 40% growth over the same time last year.&nbsp;The Cayenne and Macan contributed to the SUV surge, with 306 units sold.&nbsp;The 911 sports coupe also added to the highest-ever H1 sales, selling 93 units.&nbsp;Porsche's rivaling German brands, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/bmw/">BMW</a> and <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mercedes-benz/">Mercedes-Benz</a>,&nbsp;also disclosed their H1 2024 sales figures for India earlier this month.&nbsp;The former delivered 7,098 cars between January to June, registering a 21% increase,&nbsp;while the latter sold 9,262 vehicles, which was a 9% growth.&nbsp;

Manolito Vujicic, Brand Director, Porsche India said 'The desire to own a Porsche in India continues to grow and we are elated to see that the first half of 2024 has been our best ever.'

He added&nbsp;'This reflects what has been a solid, continuous growth of sales right across each model line&nbsp;for Porsche in India over the past few years&nbsp;It bodes well for the remainder of 2024 with a brace of more exciting new models&nbsp;set to launch in conjunction with further expansion of the Porsche network across the country.'

According to the company's official press release,&nbsp;the deliveries&nbsp;of the Cayenne GTS, 911 sports coupe, and Panamera GTS will commence in the fourth quarter of the year.&nbsp;Additionally, the shipments&nbsp;of the electric Macan and Taycan facelift,&nbsp;which launched this year,&nbsp;are set to start in early 2025.

<h2>Porsche Panamera GTS Launched in India</h2>

Porsche&nbsp;recently introduced the new Panamera GTS in India,&nbsp;with a starting price of Rs 2.34 crore,&nbsp;higher&nbsp;than the standard Panamera, which went on sale here last November at Rs 1.7 crore.&nbsp;The new GTS produces 493bhp, which is 20bhp more than the former GTS, using a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine&nbsp;instead of the V6 found in the base Panamera. It has a top speed of 302km/h and a 0-100 acceleration time of 3.8 seconds.&nbsp;

The sporting nature of the GTS&nbsp;is supported by the updated Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).&nbsp;It is now 10mm lower&nbsp;than the standard Panamera&nbsp;and features stronger anti-roll bars for a lower basic spring rate.

Porsche India Registers 40% Sales Growth in First Six Months of 2024

In the first half of 2024 (January to June), Porsche India sold 489 units, which is an impressive 40% increase over the same period the previous year.

<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/porsche/">Porsche</a> has expanded its Macan Electric SUV offering to include two new models in India. The electric performance SUV, introduced in January this year only in the Turbo EV configuration, is now available in the standard Macan Electric and Macan 4S Electric variants.&nbsp;The standard&nbsp;model carries a price tag&nbsp;of&nbsp;Rs&nbsp;1.22 crore, while the 4S costs Rs&nbsp;1.39 crore. For the uninitiated, the top-of-the-line Macan Turbo Electric retails for Rs&nbsp;1.69 crore. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures. The bookings for the entire Macan range&nbsp;are already&nbsp;underway in India.&nbsp;

The starting price of the new Macan Electric is around Rs 26 lakh higher than that of the petrol-powered&nbsp;Macan.&nbsp;The&nbsp;4S version&nbsp;fills the void between the Standard and Turbo models, while the new&nbsp;entry-level model&nbsp;is available with rear-wheel drive exclusively.&nbsp;The electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management (ePTM) system&nbsp;in the 4S allows power to be distributed&nbsp;between the front and back axles about five times faster&nbsp;than with a conventional&nbsp;all-wheel-drive system.

<h2>Porsche Macan EV: Exterior Components</h2>

Porsche has updated the Macan range with a new paint job called Slate Grey Neo. For&nbsp;daily ease of use, the Macan S has&nbsp;a&nbsp;new off-road styling pack&nbsp;and new 20-inch wheels as standard.&nbsp;With an increased approach angle of 17.4 degrees, the front bumper's design has been altered due to&nbsp;the off-road package. The ground clearance is increased by 10mm to 195mm with the adaptive air suspension included in the off-road design package.

<h2>Porsche Macan EV: Interior Updates</h2>

The new Porsche Macan Electric also gets several interior enhancements. This features the instrument console's 12.6-inch curved display and the passenger's 10.9-inch display. Along with these amenities, the model boasts&nbsp;an ambient lighting system with a communication light and an augmented reality head-up display.

<h2>Porsche Macan EV: Power Figures</h2>

Power for the base Porsche Macan Electric RWD is provided by a single electric motor situated on the rear axle and a 100kWh battery pack.&nbsp;The motor&nbsp;comes&nbsp;from the Macan 4, and&nbsp;produces 335bhp, up to 355bhp&nbsp;in Launch Control mode. The peak torque stands at&nbsp;563Nm. The Macan EV can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 220km/h. Compared to the 4S, the standard RWD variant&nbsp;is around 110 kg less, making it significantly more efficient, with a range of up to 641 km&nbsp;on a single charge.

Along with the electric motor positioned on the front axle, the Macan 4S&nbsp;gets a new rear-axle motor. When a power over-boost is used, the dual motor setup's combined output rises&nbsp;from 442bhp to 509bhp.&nbsp;The 4S comes with&nbsp;Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) electronic damping management as standard.&nbsp;With Launch Control, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds. The Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), the rear-axle steering, and the adaptive air suspension with a levelling system and height adjustment all contribute to the chassis' increased optimisation.&nbsp;According to Porsche, a fast charging system can charge the model&nbsp;from 10% to 80% in about&nbsp;21 minutes.

<h2>Porsche Pushing for e-fuels</h2>

Porsche has spent USD 75 million on Highly Innovative Fuels (HIF) over the last several years, but the company's e-fuel aspirations are not connected to its electrification strategy, as claimed by Dums. Aviation and large vehicles are the primary targets of e-fuel research and development. This comes at a time when several corporations have promised large sums to fund the electrification of their product range. E fuels will also be used for high-performance vehicles, with Porsche using it for "lighthouse" initiatives like the Supercup and its customer-facing experience centres.&nbsp;

Ferrari (RACE.MI), like Porsche, sought for an EU e-fuels exemption; however, the exemption has not yet been finalised. Ferrari continues to claim that by 2030, 80% of its vehicles will be electric or hybrid. Many smaller automakers are also interested in catering to the growing market of wealthy consumers who can buy high-end vehicles powered by e-fuel.

Team head for Porsche's e-fuel programme Karl Dums says that the firm plans to electrify the vast majority of its cars, starting with the Macan SUV and moving on to the legendary 718 and the best-selling Cayenne. The German carmaker has set a goal of having EVs make up 80% of total sales by 2030.&nbsp;

During its 75th anniversary celebration, Porsche debuted its newest electric concept car, the Mission X, which demonstrates the company's commitment to electric vehicles. The Mission X is a concept for the German automaker's future lineup of elegant, lightweight, and battery-powered sports automobiles.

Porsche says the batteries will go in the same spot as the engine in a mid-engined hypercar, which is behind the back seats. The 'e-core' design, which is similar to that of the Porsche Mission R, enables a lower floor than would be possible with a conventional battery skateboard chassis and also helps to centralise the bulk of the vehicle, enhancing its handling.&nbsp;

Porsche plans to progressively electrify its vehicle range so that 80 per cent of sales are electric vehicles by 2030, with the legendary 911 being the sole remaining model with an internal combustion engine.

After the 718 and 911 range, the Macan is the latest model to get&nbsp;the Touring variant.

The Porsche Macan is going all-electric in a few years, but that isn’t stopping Porsche from keeping its baby SUV line-up fresh. The new Macan T slots in between the base Macan and the Macan S, offering more equipment and a sportier driving experience than the former but&nbsp;without some of the frills of the latter.

The Macan T misses out on the 2.9-litre V6 engine but retains the 2-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol from the standard Macan, which is mated to a 7-speed PDK, which sends 261.5bhp and 400Nm to all four wheels.

Its performance is brisk – it has a 0-100km/h time of 6.2 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds quicker than the standard Macan but 1.4 seconds slower than the Macan S. The pop speed is rated at 232km/h, which is identical to the standard Macan and 27km/h less than the S.

The Macan T does get some extra equipment, including the Sport Chrono Package as standard, along with PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management). Adaptive air suspension and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus are optional extras, both of which have been specifically tuned for the Macan T.

In terms of cosmetics, the Macan T gets some Agate Grey Metallic details on the side view mirrors, spoiler, side blades, and rear logos. The window surround and exhaust pipes are painted black, and 20-inch rims are standard.

Inside, the Macan T gets eight-way electronically-adjustable and heated sports seats, with an embossed Porsche crest, the multifunction GT sports steering wheel, and a few ‘Macan T’ logos.

While not yet confirmed for India, the Macan T can very well be brought to our shores by the brand to strengthen its SUV lineup. In terms of pricing, the Macan T could cost between Rs 90 and 95 lakh, putting it right between the standard Macan (Rs 83.21 lakh) and the Macan S (Rs 1.3 crore).

Porsche unveils first ever Macan T

Porsche has added a new model to the Macan lineup! The Touring variant slots between the standard Macan and the Macan S and offers a little more sportiness compared to the standard Macan and should be priced accordingly.

Just after the festive season, Porsche will bring in two of its new products, the Porsche Taycan and the Porsche Macan to India.

Porsche will launch its popular EV, the Taycan, next month on November 12. Alongside the electric sports car, Porsche will also launch the updated Macan SUV. While the Macan is just a mid-life update, the Taycan will make its debut in India and will rival the recently launched Audi e-tron GT. The bookings for both the new Porsches are expected to commence in the coming weeks.

Porsche Taycan

Internationally, the Porsche Taycan is available in multiple variants – the 4S, Turbo and Turbo S. The Turbo variants do not mean that the Taycan employs an I.C engine with a turbocharger, it merely indicates the power output and the range of the all-electric Taycan. The Porsche Taycan 4S puts out 564bhp while offering a range of 463kms. The mid-spec Turbo variant is rated at 660bhp and the range on offer is 450kms. The most powerful Turbo S variant churns out 740bhp while offering a claimed range of 420kms.

There is also a base variant of the Taycan that puts out 400bhp and the range is slightly above 360kms. The battery pack on offer ranges from 79.2kWh to 93.4kWh. The Porsche Taycan gets an 800-volt charger that charges the battery from 5 per cent to 80 per cent within 23 minutes.

The Porsche Taycan will be launched in India via the CBU route and the prices are expected to be between Rs 1.9 crore and Rs 2.2 crore (ex-showroom).

2022 Porsche Macan

The new Porsche Macan is expected with restyled exteriors and revamped interiors. The variant lineup of the 2022 Macan will be re-jigged as well, making the Macan GTS the range-topping model. The 2022 Macan GTS and the Macan S will break cover with the 2.9-litre V6 petrol, with the former producing 443bhp and the latter churning out 374bhp.

The base model Macan will continue with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine but this time with 17bhp more – 256bhp.

The 2022 Porsche Macan will most likely be priced around the Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. The main rivals to the 2022 Macan will be the Jaguar F-Pace, BMW X4, Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, and the Range Rover Velar.
