While demand for smaller LCVs under 2 tonnes fell sharply by 20% to 2,576 units, the 2–3.5 tonne light commercial vehicle category saw a slight 4% gain with 16,772 units sold. Sales of the homegrown carmaker's combined utility vehicles, which include Mahindra Electric Automobile and Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, increased 22% to more than 1.52 lakh units in the first quarter of FY2025 over the same period the year before.</p>

<h2>Mahindra Sales Figures: December 2024</h2>

<p>The homegrown carmaker&nbsp;delivered impressive growth across its automotive and farm equipment divisions in December. Total automotive sales surged to 69,768 units, achieving a 16% YoY&nbsp;increase. Domestic sales in the utility vehicle (UV)&nbsp;category reached 41,424 units, an 18% rise from the previous year, while overall sales, including exports, stood at 42,958 units. The commercial vehicle (CV) segment contributed 19,502 units to domestic sales, further bolstering the company’s performance. Export volumes also experienced a significant uptick, with 3,092 vehicles shipped internationally – an outstanding 70% growth compared to the year before.</p>

<p>Commenting on the sales performance,&nbsp;Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra said, 'The year ended on a high, as we became the only Indian auto company to attain the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) world leader status within the Auto Sector. The DJSI ranking is one of the most respected global benchmarks for ESG performance, covering over 13,000 companies across various industries and we are ranked 1st among all global auto OEMs.'</p>

<p>The Farm Equipment Sector demonstrated remarkable progress, recording a 22% year-on-year increase in domestic tractor sales, which climbed to 22,019 units last month. This surge was largely attributed to favourable agricultural conditions, including improved reservoir levels and strong momentum in the rabi sowing season. Adding export figures, the overall tractor sales for the month amounted to 22,943 units, marking a robust 20% growth compared to the previous year.</p>

<p>Hemant Sikka, President of,&nbsp;Farm Equipment Sector&nbsp;remarked,&nbsp;'Sentiments have remained positive in December on account of positive cash flow momentum from Kharif harvest. Favourable reservoir levels have also resulted in strong sowing for the rabi season, further bolstering tractor demand. Looking ahead, the tractor industry is poised for significant growth, underpinned by positive agricultural sentiments and favourable terms of trade for farmers.'</p>

The company registered a 12% YoY sales growth with 79,083 units sold last month compared to&nbsp;70,576 units dispatched during the same period last year.&nbsp;Commenting on the company's sales performance,&nbsp;Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&amp;M Ltd. said,&nbsp;'We sold 46,222 SUVs, a growth of 16% in November, and 79,083 total vehicles. This month saw the launch of our most awaited Electric Origin SUVs – the BE6e and XEV9e. Built on the grounds-up revolutionary electric origin architecture INGLO and powered by MAIA, the fastest automotive mind in the world, these vehicles embody Mahindra’s vision of "Unlimit India"&nbsp;–&nbsp;an era where Indian innovation and design not only challenge global benchmarks but set new ones. The go-to market for these Electric Origin SUVs will start in a phased manner in the later part of January 2025. Deliveries will commence towards the end of February or early March 2025.'</p>

<h2>Mahindra Sales Figures: November 2024</h2>

<p>The homegrown carmaker reported a 16 per cent&nbsp;increase in domestic sales of utility vehicles, with 46,222 units sold compared to 39,981 units in the same month last year. Total utility vehicle sales, including exports, reached 47,294 units. In the commercial vehicle sector, the company sold 22,042 units in the domestic market last November. For tractors, Mahindra&nbsp;saw a slight increase in domestic sales, reaching 31,746 units, up from 31,069 units in November 2023. All in all, total tractor sales amounted to 33,378 units, a rise from 32,074 units during the same period last year. Tractor exports grew to 1,632 units last month, compared to 1,005 units in November last year.</p>

<h2>Mahindra Introduces&nbsp;Two New Exciting Products</h2>

<p>Meanwhile, Mahindra recently launched two new models in the Indian market, the BE 6e and the XEV 9e. The former is priced at Rs 18.90&nbsp;lakh while the latter costs Rs 21.90 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Coming to the mechanical side of things, the XEV 9e and BE 6e are available with two battery capacities: a&nbsp;59kWh unit and a 79kWh unit. The 59kWh battery is paired with a 227bhp motor, whereas&nbsp;the 79kWh battery comes with a 282bhp motor. The BE 6e has a certified range of 682 km, while the XEV 9e offers a range of 656 km&nbsp;for the higher-capacity battery model.&nbsp;</p>
