A special-edition model of the world's most powerful hatch—the Mercedes-AMG A45 S 4Matic+ —has been revealed for the global market. The Limited Edition vehicle is finished in the captivating 'AMG Green Hell Magno' hue, drawing inspiration from the previous generation AMG GT R. However, Mercedes-AMG has used a variety of techniques to emphasise the special model's gorgeous shade of green. These include the AMG emblem on the hood, the 'A45 S' inscription on the doors, and a few yellow highlights. This edition's distinctive 19-inch forged rims are matte black with yellow spoke accents. Moreover, the car&nbsp;shows off striking shiny black brake callipers with white AMG insignia.&nbsp;

Also included as standard on the A 45 S Limited Edition are AMG's Night Pack and Night Pack 2, which provide multiple body elements—including the external chrome trim, wing mirrors, and rear spoiler, among others—a darker tint. Further,&nbsp;the rear spoiler comes as part of the AMG Aerodynamics package, which is standard on the limited edition A 45 S but optional on the regular version.

As of now, there has been no official statement made about the launch of this unique model in India. Only the A 200 Limousine and the AMG A 45 have been modified by the firm so far; the diesel-powered A 200d won't be available until the fourth quarter of 2023. The AMG A 35 Limousine, however, is not mentioned, which may indicate that the sportier model has been discontinued. The forward-sloping bonnet of the new A-Class sedan is accented by two power bulges and a sharp "shark nose." Inside, a standard freestanding dual-screen display with a 10.25-inch diagonal size for each screen takes the spotlight. The updated steering wheel blends well with the car's high-tech design and touch-screen controls.&nbsp;When it comes to how the car learns your preferences and shows frequently used icons, the Zero Layer concept for the interface is present in the sedan. Car-to-X communication is one of the innovative technologies that help to increase safety.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now make wireless smartphone connectivity feasible. A 20 per cent boost has been made to the USB charging capacity. It now has seven airbags, and a knee airbag has been added to improve safety. The A-Class also receives a hands-free tailboard in addition to Keyless Entry &amp; Go.

The AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that generates 421bhp, the most power offered by any hatchback in India. With a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds, it is the quickest AMG hatch sold anywhere in the world. The strong engine in the AMG A 45 S is specifically calibrated to work with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 8G gearbox, which gives the vehicle more agility and dynamic character. Due to the combination of AMG Suspension and the completely variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive with AMG TORQUE CONTROL, the vehicle exhibits outstanding agility.

The performance hatchback is outfitted with the NTG7 version of MBUX, the most recent iteration of the infotainment system. New headlamps and a radiator designed specifically for AMG improve the front end. The rear Aerofoil for the AMG would be available as an accessory, giving one the chance to further customise the AMG. The hottest <a href="https://www.autox.com/hatchback-cars-in-india/">hatchback</a> from the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mercedes-benz/">Mercedes-Benz</a> stable has made its India debut. The Mercedes-AMG A 45 S has been officially launched in India for Rs 79.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The sticker price may seem on the steeper side for a hatchback, but it's worth every bit, for the A 45 S gets the world’s most powerful 2.0-litre engine, among other things – and you can't really put a price on performance.

The four-cylinder 2.0-litre turbo-petrol motor produces 416bhp and 500Nm. The power is sent to all the wheels (AWD) via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The hatchback gets launch control and can sprint from a standstill to 100km/h in 3.9 seconds (claimed). Also, the hot hatch can hit a top speed of 278km/h.

The car comes with six drive modes in total, but it's the Race mode that dials up the responses and feedback. There is also the Drift mode, which numbs the traction control and other governing systems a little bit for you to slide the A 45 S around a bend.

Visually, the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S looks very similar to the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mercedes-benz/new-a-class/">A-Class series</a> hatchbacks, but, under the skin, this hot hatch gets reinforced chassis and stiffer suspensions. The brakes too are a size bigger to effectively bring you to a stop. The wheels are 19-inch in size and are shod with low-profile high-performance tyres. It also gets a diffuser with quad exhaust tips.

The cabin is largely similar to the standard model; however, the seats are sporty and get highlights. The steering wheel is a flat-bottom unit, which adds a bit of sportiness to the cabin.

The Mercedes-AMG A 45 S will be sold via the CBU route in India. Its deliveries will start early next month.

The Mercedes-AMG A 45 S will soon make its India debut. The German marque is likely to announce the price of the hot hatchback this week. The A 45 S will be sold in India via the CBU route, and we suspect that the <a href="https://www.autox.com/hatchback-cars-in-india/">hatchback</a> will be sold in limited numbers. The price of the new Mercedes-AMG A 45 S is expected to be north of 75 lakh (ex-showroom), which will position the hatchback in a premium segment of its own.

The styling of the new A 45 S will be very similar to the GLA 35, which was launched in India earlier this year. However, the A 45 S is a more low-slung and aggressive looking hatchback compared to the GLA 35 ‘crossover’ hatch!

The key styling details of the A 45 S include <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mercedes-benz/">Mercedes</a>’ signature Pan-America grille and aggressively styled bumpers, with air-splitters, at the front. The rear bumper also houses an air-diffuser with quad exhaust tips. The A 45 S will ride on 19-inch wheels with low-profile tyres.

The Mercedes-AMG A 45 S gets the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol motor, which is tuned to produce 415bhp and 500Nm – the highest power figures from a production-spec 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. The gearbox is an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic unit, coupled with Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. The claimed 0 – 100km/h timing for the A 45 S is 3.9 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 275km/h.
