Following the latest price cut, the&nbsp;cost&nbsp;of the model now begins at&nbsp;Rs&nbsp;10.99 lakh instead of Rs&nbsp;13.05 lakh.&nbsp;After removing the discount, the cost of Monster Plus—the version that is more expensive than the standard model stands at Rs 11.19 lakh.&nbsp;The windscreen and pillion seat cowl on the Monster Plus sets it apart from the standard Monster. It is important to note that the Ducati Monster SP, which currently carries a price tag&nbsp;of Rs 15.95 lakh, is not eligible for this offer.&nbsp;The Ducati Monster's revised prices are only in effect through January 31.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Ducati Monster: Engine and Rider Aids</h2>

<p>The Monster is powered by a 937cc liquid-cooled engine producing 110bhp at 9,250rpm and 93Nm at 6,500rpm. The bike also has a 6-speed transmission with an up-and-down quick shifter and a slip-and-assist clutch. A 4.3-inch full-colour TFT unit, dynamic turn signals, a USB port for charging mobile devices, cornering ABS, and power launch are just a few of the features that the Ducati naked sports bike offers. <p><strong>autoX Awards 2023:</strong> Ducati has a knack for doing it. What, you ask? Well, when they launch a motorcycle, they make us believe that it’s the best they could do with a platform, and then a year later, they somehow better it in ways you can’t even imagine. A case in point is the new Monster SP.</p>

<p>When we rode the fourth-gen Monster last year, we were completely astounded by the significant advancements it brought in comparison to its predecessor. It felt perfect on the road and was nimble and agile enough for occasional track days. But, this year, Ducati decided to give it the SP treatment, and, boy, has this made a difference!</p>

<p>For the uninitiated, the Monster SP is a completely different animal compared to the regular version. Apart from its engine and frame, everything else is virtually new. The standard bikes’ non-adjustable KYB suspension has been junked in favour of fully adjustable Ohlins at both ends. The rake is sharper (23 degrees vs 24 degrees), and the wheelbase is slightly smaller by around 2mm. Consequently, the riding posture is now more aggressive. Among other crucial updates, there’s a steering damper, stickier Pirelli Diablo Ross IV rubber instead of IIIs, Brembo Stylema callipers as against M4.32s, and a recalibrated electronics package. The SP is two kilograms lighter, too. And, lastly, to help you differentiate it from the lesser version, it gets a special MotoGP-inspired black-and-red livery, along with a couple of more fancy bits and bobs on its bodywork. Club all these elements together, and what you end up with is a Monster of a naked middleweight!</p>

<p>‘The <a href="https://www.autox.com/?s=ducati">Ducati</a>&nbsp;Monster SP is a complete package. It’s a great toy for all occasions. You can do track days, ride it daily, or even go on short tours. The electronics are amazing, and the brakes are awesome. The Ohlins offer a more polished riding experience overall, too,’ said Simran summing up his experience with the SP. And we couldn’t agree more.</p>

<p>The SP version delivers on its promise of making the Monster more performance-oriented, without compromising the practicality or comfort. In fact, it’s even more comfortable in every aspect. But when you’re feeling a bit mischievous, you’ll find in the Monster an eager companion, especially because of that 937cc V-Twin motor and those 109 horses that pull you like a force of nature. It’s an addictive recipe – one that’s so damn hard to resist.</p>

<p>But just like everything else in life, not everything is perfect here. The fly in the ointment here is that it’s a no-bargain deal, meaning you have to pay a couple of lakhs more over the regular model to get the SP experience. That said, if you have the means, and the moolah, there is no reason to resist it – at least, we can’t think of any. And that’s precisely what makes the Monster SP one of the ‘Best of 2023’. It’s an irresistible indulgence.</p>

<p>In terms of features, full-LED lighting, a 4.3-inch colour TFT display, a launch control system, a USB socket, a lithium-ion battery, three ride modes (Sport, Road, and Wet), cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, power modes, and a quick-shifter will be standard on this Triumph Street Triple competing Ducati roadster. This bike is also compatible with the Ducati Multimedia System and has heated grips. The console displays an array of data, such as a lap timer, fuel gauge, and air temperature.</p>

<h2>Ducati Monster SP: Hardware</h2>

<p>Higher-end hardware is featured in the Ducati Monster SP model. The NIX 43mm upside-down front forks and an Ohlins rear monoshock, both fully adjustable, are used to handle the suspension duties. The anchoring setup consists of a single 245mm rotor with a Brembo two-piston calliper at the back and twin 320mm front discs with Brembo Stylema monoblock four-piston callipers up front. The 14-litre fuel tank, the 840mm seat height, and the kerb weight of 186 kilograms are additional important components.</p>

<h2>Ducati Monster SP: Engine and Gearbox</h2>

<p>The Monster SP shares many of the same mechanical characteristics as the standard model. So, like the previous variant, this one also makes use of a 973cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces a maximum power output of 109.9bhp at 9,250rpm and a peak torque output of 93Nm at 6,500rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quick-shifter. The valve clearance check is planned every 30,000 kilometre, while the maintenance intervals are set at 15,000 kilometre or 24 months. The company asserts a fuel economy of 19.23km/l or 5.2 litres per 100 kilometre globally.</p>

<h2>Ducati Monster SP: Styling Details</h2>

<p>Coming to the styling highlights of the upcoming Ducati Monster SP, the variant's overall design resembles that of the standard model. As mentioned above, the Ducati Monster SP&nbsp;features a projector-style headlight with LED DRL, a small flyscreen, a powerful fuel tank with front turn indicators hidden beneath the tank shrouds, a step-up seat, a side-slung twin-pod exhaust, and 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends. It should be noted that this variation receives a unique, dual-tone paint job that consists of a red colour with blacked-out accents and a passenger seat cowl.</p>

<h2>Ducati Monster SP: Rivals</h2>

<p>The Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres will be fitted to the Ducati Monster SP's 17-inch wheels when it ships as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) to India. The streetfighter competes against models like the Yamaha MT-09, the Triumph Street Triple, the Kawasaki Z900, the BMW F 900 R, and others on a global scale.&nbsp;</p>
