Tata&nbsp;kicked off the EV offensive in India in January 2020 when the company's first zero-emission passenger vehicle – the Nexon EV – was launched to set the tone for its transition to electric mobility in India. The Tata Safari and the Harrier can now be had at an effective starting&nbsp;price&nbsp;of Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. This reflects a price decrease of Rs 70,000 for the Safari&nbsp;and Rs 50,000 for the Harrier. Besides, these SUVs can be had&nbsp;with benefits of up to Rs&nbsp;1.40 lakh, although applicable&nbsp;to select variants.</p>

<h2>Tata EVs: Save up to Rs 1.30 Lakh</h2>

For those looking to buy the facelifted version of the Nexon EV, the Fearless Plus&nbsp;S Long Range variant comes with&nbsp;a&nbsp;maximum&nbsp;discount of up to Rs 1 lakh, while up to Rs 85,000 discount can be had on the Fearless LR. Meanwhile, the&nbsp;unsold stock of the&nbsp;Fearless Plus&nbsp;MR, Fearless Plus S MR, and Fearless Plus&nbsp;LR variants from last year can be availed with benefits of up to Rs 65,000&nbsp;and the&nbsp;Fearless MR, Empowered MR, and Empowered Plus&nbsp;LR variants&nbsp;with discounts in the range of Rs 50,000. As for the pre-facelift Nexon EV, discounts and offers in the&nbsp;range of Rs 1.90 lakh to Rs 2.30 lakh are available on the Nexon EV Prime, while the range-topping Max is on offer with benefits of Rs 2.80 lakh.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Tata Nexon EV Facelift: Powertrain</h2>

<p>The updated Tata Nexon EV&nbsp;is&nbsp;offered in Medium-Range&nbsp;and Long-Range&nbsp;versions, corresponding to the Prime and Max variants sold earlier. Mechanically, the facelifted model continues to be&nbsp;offered with two battery sizes –&nbsp;a 30.2kWh for the Nexon&nbsp;MR and a 40.5kWh for the Nexon LR. The former produces 127bhp and&nbsp;215Nm of peak torque, while&nbsp;the latter generates&nbsp;141bhp and&nbsp;215Nm of torque. Tata has equipped the car with a new Gen2 permanent magnet synchronous motor, which is said to be lighter, cleaner, and more efficient.</p>

<p>The MR and the LR yield&nbsp;a driving range of 325km (MIDC) and 465km (MIDC)&nbsp;on a single charge, respectively. Both variants support 7.2kWh fast charging, while also offering a vehicle-to-load and&nbsp;vehicle-to-vehicle charging function for the first time. Tata says that the electric derivative can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 8.9 seconds and tops&nbsp;out at 150km/h, thanks to better aerodynamics.</p>

Alongside the&nbsp;new 2023 Nexon, the latest version of the Nexon EV will go on sale in the Indian market on the 14th of September 2023. Following the debut of the Nexon facelift, Tata Motors has now revealed the first mid-life cycle update&nbsp;for its&nbsp;Nexon EV. The Nexon EV's launch will be succeeded by the commercial debuts of the facelifted and BS-VI versions of the Nexon, Tiago and Tigor as well.</p>

<p>While the <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/tata-nexon-ev-revealed-107021/">Nexon EV's variant&nbsp;details</a> have already been revealed, Tata has now shed some light on the digital ecosystem for its connected car tech - the ZConnect. This system will make its debut on the Nexon EV and like Hyundai's BlueLink &amp; MG's iSmart, the ZConnect will also function via a smartphone app. All this means that the Nexon EV will offer up to 35 connected car features to its customers.</p>

<p>The ZConnect tech will be offered as standard on the Nexon EV. However, don't expect anything radical as the protocol remains identical here. Like the connected car features we've seen before, the ZConnect app also offers the same EV-specific features, such as the driving range&nbsp;indicator and car charging status. Certain features, like the air-conditioning and vehicle locking/unlocking, can be carried out remotely using the app. The connectivity suite also offers features pertaining to location-based services, emergency/SOS response, vehicle diagnostics/immobilisation, vehicle health monitoring &amp; car safety.</p>

<p>The Nexon EV will also mark the debut of Tata's Ziptron EV architecture. It will be driven&nbsp;by a 127bhp&nbsp;3-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that draws its power from a&nbsp;liquid-cooled 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery. With 245Nm of torque at its disposal, the Nexon EV can reach&nbsp;the 100km/h mark in 9.9s. It also gets an ARAI-certified driving range of 312km on a single full charge.</p>
