Mardenborough spent most of his early life in Cardiff. Mardenborough spent his childhood hours in front of the PlayStation playing Gran Turismo racing video games. His prowess as a Gran Turismo player allowed him to go through the Nissan GT Academy, and he is now a professional racing car driver.&nbsp;

For those who don't know, the GT Academy was founded to help the best players of Gran Turismo take their skills from the computer to the real world of professional racing. Nissan and Sony Computer Entertainment supported the school financially from 2008 to 2016.
